Designer Hilltop Retreat with Amazing City Views
About this space
The house has expansive views of downtown, Silver lake and highland park from the hills of Eagle Rock.
The neighborhood, located very close to Occidental College, has a friendly community vibe to it, with shops and restaurants just down the hill. We are 10 minutes from Dodger Stadium and can actually see fireworks performances after games. And just a 10 minutes drive from the Rose Bowl.
The patio is wonderful for meals or just relaxing. The house is very comfortable and great for lounging.
The space
We are a musician and interior designer with a 5 year old little boy. We have tried to make our home an eclectic mix that ranges around our passions. We love art deco, french antiques, and moroccan textiles and colors. The space decor is ever changing. We are happy to send any additional photos upon request and should you be interested in hosting a bridal shower or a small gathering, please just ask us so we can approve in advance. For the safety of our home, we must approve any small gatherings so we can be sure that people will respect the space.
The outside is great for lounging and relaxing and having fun. And the views are spectacular from outside and inside. The house sits on a 10,000 sqft lot cut into the side of a hill. We have 2 norange trees, a fig, avocado, lemon, 2 guava trees. Fruit trees are easiest to access via our private part of the yard that is located in the lower area of the yard, but we are happy to arrange a time for you to come down anytime something is in season so you can pick the fruit.
The outside is great for lounging, relaxing, and having fun. And the views are spectacular from outside and inside. The house sits on a 10,000 sqft lot cut into the side of a hill.
The lower yard, terraces, garage area, and downstairs studio areas are not guest-designated areas. We work and reside in these areas and will be onsite. There is plenty of free on-street parking with no restrictions, so not having a garage should cause no issues in this regard.
In this downstairs area, we have my husband's studio and our living area where we work and will be during your stay. He makes a bit of noise with his music that can be heard at times (not loud band music, but commercial music that is at a moderate volume but is able to be heard through the walls at times), so this should be noted, as we will be onsite during your stay in these separate areas for work. The upstairs patio is private and will be all yours. The lower yard is our private yard where we bring our little boy out to play. But no worries because the upper patio of your unit boasts the best views by far with the covered awning and propane grill. Please note, that we access our studio space from a separate entrance near the garage.
