The Greatest View in Wears Valley!

Welcome to Smoky Mountain. Our home away from home is located in beautiful Wears Valley. The cabin in perched at the top of a mountain right next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our home is not just a cabin for rent. It has a cozy, special feeling the moment you walk in the door. The bedrooms are all cozy and decorated beautifully. It is our desire that you feel welcome and among friends at your temporary home away from home.

Enjoy the breath-taking sunsets that give way to the twinkling lights of Townsend and Wears Valley from one of four decks. Enjoy a romantic (or family) dinner on the top deck softly lit by the setting sun and the swags of cabin deck lights. Spend the whole day outside curled up on the wicker couch alternately enjoying the gorgeous views and that book you've been trying to read. Challenge your family and friends to a game of pool or ping-pong, play numerous games on the Play Station 2, watch many different movies (DVD/VCR) with many kid-friendly videos available, or spend a lazy afternoon by the fire putting together a puzzle. Reconnect with your loved ones at Christmas as you listen to beautiful Christmas music and enjoy the decorations. Sit on the deck and watch misty clouds roll in ahead of refreshing mountain storms. (We have literally had clouds roll in our dining room door!) Or watch the fireworks show that some sweet soul always seems to put on just for our cabin on the 4th of July and New Years. Oh, and of course, there's a hot tub.

With so much to do at home, you might be tempted to never leave. But Townsend, Cades Cove, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and of course the National Park offer so much fun for all ages. Hopefully, the hardest job you'll have while vacationing here is deciding who to see, what to do, where to go, and what to eat. And if you can't decide, there's always tomorrow. Scenic hiking, interesting museums, fun attractions, awesome shows, fabulous restaurants, cool swimming, great shopping, and of course one of our personal favorites, ice skating at Ober Gatlinburg are just some of the wonderful things you'll experience while here. We just know that you'll fall in love with Wears Valley and the surrounding area just like we have. But most of all, we hope you leave our home with the cherished memories of precious moments spent with those dearest to your heart and precious moments of soul-restoring quiet solitude.

The view was amazing! It was so nice to see the sunset each evening. We also saw a few bears, cabin was great for puzzles and hanging out.

Perfect cabin for 9 people. We each had a bedroom/bath ( one person shared a bathroom) but then we had space to all come together We had a small issue and was able to contact the host and get it resolved. Was greeted with 2 bear cubs on the property when we arrived. The views were breathtaking. I communicated with the host several times He was very nice easy to talk with and resolved our issue. Would definitely recommend this beautiful cabin for your large group.

A Perfect Family Getaway

This house was the perfect family accommodation for our group. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom, plenty of room to relax, a GORGEOUS view of the mountains, and a great quiet location away from the commercialized tourist areas without being too far to easily drive to the attractions. The owner reached out just after check in to make sure we were able to get settled in, and answered questions through the week for us. We would highly recommend this cabin!

Not only a great view, but a great time!

Absolutely wonderful! The host was great at communicating newly added amenities and info about the cabin. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable. For us, just the perfect distance away from the traffic and lights of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but close enough to take in everything. It was great!

Great Views!

Beautiful home, fabulous views, and we saw bears several times! Plenty of room in the house. We had a great time and the owners were great to work with. If you go though- use Google maps - not your iPhone map app the iPhone app can’t fine the address for some reason and will send you on a wild goose chase! Google maps worked fine

Tennessee trip

The view was spectacular. It was quiet and peaceful and it seemed like there was always a fresh breeze blowing on the decks. The cabin was very clean and we had everything provided to enjoy our stay. The cabin was beautifully decorated inside and we had plenty of space. Greg Bishop is the property manager and he was extremely nice to talk to, he answered all of my questions and was great at answering my question. He provided all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. We plan on taking this trip every couple of years and this is where we are planning to stay. We would like to thank Greg for a great vacation!

Beautiful View

Our stay was very good. Only suggestions would be the beds upstairs and downstairs need new mattresses. Also the garbage cans outside should be empty after each stay. They were almost full when we got there and we ran out of room to take out the bag when we left so we had to leave it in the waste basket in the house. I rated it a 5 still because the view is amazing and worth every penny.

Needs to be cleaner

The view is beautiful, kitchen is very well stocked. BUT over all the cleaning could be improved, very dusty , bugs in corners ,wraps in bedrooms and on the decks. Window could use blinds or curtains in the bedrooms. There was a broken window in the dining area that was filled in with cardboard.

Spring Break

Awesome views across Wears Valley, with some great sunsets!! We were the first to use the “Brand New” gas grill on the deck!! We did experience some of issues discussed in the other reviews ( wasp/bugs, water dripping in kitchen). There was parking for 5/6 vehicles. Unfortunately it will lose it’s “last house on the top” status as there 2 cabins in the final stages of construction. This is a nice older cabin that needs a little TLC. We were a group of 9, 14 to 68.

Stay of a lifetime

Decor 5+, location 5+, quality of property 5+, some of the greatest views I have ever encountered. Host 5+, he is outstanding and is eager to make sure your stay is the best it can be. 4 bedrooms have bathrooms in them with showers. 1 bedroom doesn’t. Worked fine for us. 3 private balconies with amazing views. One main balcony that wraps around to the front. Momma bear with 3 cubs decided to appear. I cannot say enough about this property or host. It is by itself well away from other cabins. It is much easier to get to than many others I have stayed at. We are going back next year!

Gracious Host and a Beautiful Home

The views are jaw-dropping beautiful. We sat outside on the upper deck most of the time. The furniture is comfortable, and it was a perfect place to watch the sun set. We played ping pong and then watched a movie on a big screen tv. We attended two shows in Pigeon Forge, both were excellent. There are lots of attractions. The negatives to this home are few. One daughter found a mattress upstairs too lumpy and switched to another room. Another daughter wished for window covers in the room she slept in. She couldn’t sleep late with the sun streaming in. The bathroom floor could have been cleaner, but overall, this place is great. Gregg, owner, answered reach text immediately, and is a gracious host. We would love to stay here again.

Would not stay again

While the sunset views were beautiful, that did not make up for the condition of the cabin. It was evident that no-one had stayed in the cabin for some time. There were multitudes of dead bugs along every wall. The bathroom drains smelled horrible as did the water, which later we discovered was sulfur smells from well water. The cushions in the chairs in the main living room were broken down. The stairs leading upstairs to two bedrooms were very dirty from lack of cleaning from past visitors. The advertised grill was missing and when I contacted the property owner about the bugs and lack of grill, he apologized and offered to reimburse if I went to purchase one. The absolute worse discovery was mouse droppings on the pillows of both bedrooms upstairs. When contacting the owner, he offered to reimburse a portion of our stay and asked for an address to send the reimbursement. After not receiving the reimbursement in 2 weeks time, I reached back out to him. He then stated that he would have to wait until he got paid to reimburse us. Needless to say, I would not recommend renting from this person.

Check-in was great. Cabin had everything we needed to cook and grill out. Kitchen plenty of space to cook. Beautiful views from the decks, we were visited by bears every day. Communication with property manager was excellent answered questions we had before trip. Close to shopping, grocery, restaurants.Would highly recommend.

House was better than expected. Great scenery, beautiful view of the mountains. Was able to see bears, really cool. If there is a down side, it takes about 30 minutes to get into gatlinburg. But the views are worth it.

Navy Reunion

The cabin location and views were priceless and perfect for our Navy reunion. We had daily visits from several bears which made our day. The cabin is beautifully located on the side of a mountain giving us wonderful views. Thank you Greg for a lovely stay.

Accurate title and excellent property

Myself and a few of my friends went here for a weekend guys trip. First impression is that this is the most accurate name of a listing. This house offered the best view I’ve ever had when staying in the TN mountains. Greg, the owner, was easy to communicate with and called to personally introduce himself which was much appreciated. The guide book in the house ensures that if you ever decide to leave, you have plenty to do. I intend on coming back to this property again!

Wow. Just wow.

My entire family is hoping to repeat this experience every two years. This was such an amazingly relaxing vacation thanks to the lovingly appointed home and its amenities, like the hot tub! And kids and grown-ups alike enjoyed gaming downstairs. We discovered a couple kids are ping-pong-pros in the making! My wife Lisa and I are from North Alabama. we have two kids, both out on their own. We enjoy hiking (Lisa is an urban hiker ha-ha), the mountains and the ocean. We both are certified divers. We also love our Saint Bernard Murphy. He is our new kid ha-ha, without the college tuition!

Wears Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Tennessee. It almost has a magical quality. Our cabin is a very special retreat set in a very special place that offers almost absolute solitude just minutes away from tons of fun. We feel so blessed to own our home.

Bears, coyotes, other wildlife, awesome displays of nature, and absolutely gorgeous mountain views are some of the things you'll enjoy while staying at Smoky Mountain. A cabin beautifully decorated with cozy home furnishings, linens washed in dye-free, scent-free detergent, and endless possibilities awaiting you are some more things you might enjoy. And there's no sand:)
