I really enjoyed my stay at the cabin! It was the perfect atmosphere for my fall trip to explore the area. Everything I could need was provided i.e. kitchen items, linens, etc. Although it was not the time of year for skiing, there are a number of great looking trails nearby.

Great cozy place and community

Wonderful stay, Nancy and Don were very accommodating, helpful and communicative. Cabin was cozy, warm, and so close to everything. The fabled bar The Lumberjack is right down the street and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful and cozy!

The home was very cozy and secluded. Charming artful decor. Hosts were super friendly. Will not hesitate to stay again if in the area!

A lovely home in a beautiful place.

You would surely enjoy staying at this wonderful place. The cozy cabin style living room and spacious house is surrounded by natural beauty and lovely people. The host is responsive and there are thoughtful details found throughout. We would happily return.

Extended last min

Hosts were able to flex and allow us to stay 2 additional days as the property was still available. We had such a wonderful experience we decided to stay longer!

Perfect cozy cabin for a long weekend

While the property is a little rustic on the outside, dont let that deter you. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The host even brought out a nice gas grill with utensils for our use on a last minute request. The Thunderbay Inn and the Lumberjack Tavern are cool places to eat and enjoy a drink. The Crams General store family was super helpful with fishing info on Lake Independence and they carry live bait and everything one might need. The location of this property is very convenient to snowmobile trail access and is only 30 minutes to Marquette and all the bigger city attractions. Would stay here again.

My Stay

Overall very nice place. Layout is a little different than normal. But nice place. One thing I will suggest for two reasons. I would put a curtain in the lower bathroom. 1. For privacy 2. It’s an eye sore to look out. Thank you for the Great Hospitality See you next time.

Very cozy and charming!

This place is awesome for a winter adventure to the U.P.! Our group of four had a blast spending New Years here. The cabin is very cozy feeling on the inside and has an eclectic layout - you can really tell a lot of craftsmanship and love went into making this place. It's also in a really nice location in Big Bay - a short walk away from Lumberjack Tavern and to hiking/XC ski trails. The kitchen was very well equipped and met our cooking needs. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean. And lastly, Nancy was so responsive to our questions and went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. Thank you so much for having us and we hope to come back soon!

Nice, but some issues

The first night we saw a mouse run across the floor. Contacted the manager, they said they would bring traps, no traps so contacted again. After they set traps, two mice were caught. Because of the mice, we were storing our food in the oven and our cooler. They said there hadn't been a mouse problem however, we saw several places around the house that had "droppings" so they couldn't have looked to hard! Also, had problems with TV, first night worked but after that, couldn't get good enough reception to watch anything. Told the manager but they were not able to help or correct the issue. We liked the home but was disappointed with the mouse issue and no TV. No discount or price adjustment for any of these issues. The area is beautiful.
