Lakeside cabin on the Central Oregon Coast

Escape to the beautiful Oregon coast, enjoying the calm waters of Collard Lake. Charming lakeside cabin has 2 decks from which to lounge and take in the magnificent lake view. Enjoy the dock and paddle the kayak, canoe or rowboat on this spring-fed lake. Watercraft and life jackets are provided. The comfortable cabin, located in a quiet area of large fir trees, includes a full well-equipped kitchen, large screen TV with Roku, and wireless internet service. Enjoy music from Pandora or Spotify on the bluetooth/CD compact shelf system. The bedroom includes a comfortable queen bed. There is a double futon sofa bed in the TV room and another double futon sofa bed in the living room.

Heron's Hideaway comfortably sleeps 4, but could sleep 6 with the use of both futon beds and the queen bed. Washer and dryer available. On cooler days, enjoy the pellet stove in the living room as you enjoy the lake view or curl up with a good book. Or watch a movie on Roku on the big screen in the TV room. Each level has a bathroom with a shower in one and tub/shower in the other.

The beautiful Oregon coast is a short 6 mile drive from Heron's Hideaway. Enjoy dining and shopping in the quaint town of Florence which is about 8 miles away. Heron's Hideaway is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, good for strolling and taking in the local scenery. Dog owners note that property is not fenced, but surrounded by woods.

Parking notes: Steep driveway. There are 2 carports. The upper carport is appropriate for any size vehicles, but the carport closer to house is lower and may not accommodate larger cars. There is also an uncovered parking space in front of house.

Older children are welcome, but this property may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.

Awesome Trip

We had a terrific time at this lake cabin. The lake is beautiful and the cabin has everything you need along with a great view of the lake. It is so quiet and peaceful.

Peace and serenity

Loved staying in your perfect cabin on the lake. Quiet neiborhood, great for going on walks with our dog. Can't wait to come back in the Summer when we can actually get on the lake

wonderful stay

Comfortable cabin for a family getaway

Our family of three (+ a dog) stayed at this cabin for Thanksgiving and enjoyed the space. All of the necessary kitchen and bathroom supplies were available, as well as extra dog supplies, which was appreciated. The location made it easy to drive into town or to the beach.

Lake Livin’ Dream!

We absolutely loved this place! It’s on older build but has been meticulously maintained and loved that it just feels like home. The owner’s obviously want their guest to feel at home. When we walked in there were flowers on the kitchen counter! Then the windows with the lake view just draw you in and you feel relaxed after your long day on the road. There are two living areas. One you can enjoy on the main level with the comfort of the pellet stove on those chilly mornings while watching the wildlife appear on the deck-squirrels, chipmunks and birds! The host even provided food for them! The other living area is downstairs off the bedroom. Bed was comfy, bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Kitchen had condiments and spices which was great since we only ate out for lunch. We are on a 3 week tour of the PNW and this is our favorite lodging so far! I give it 10 stars!!!

Artist weekend

I was a participant at the Coastal Plein Air Paint Out. This was an incredible place to stay while relaxing and painting. A lovely waterfront with kayaks to play with. A scenic area with deck to enjoy the serenity of the lake. I can’t wait to do it again!

Wildlife paradise

We had a wonderful welcoming committee of little ground squirrels and bluejays upon arrival. Luckily we brought some Critter Crunch with us so we had a little snack with them prior to heading in the house. We ended up dining with 7 squirrels and 5 bluejays the rest of our stay. We had 4 deer that visited in the mornings to have breakfast with us all. We enjoyed watching movies, the beautiful scenery, and the antics of the squirrels the entire stay. The only down side was leaving the fun behind. We will definately return when we have the time. So quiet and relaxing.

Our Heavenly Home Away From Home...

We are fortunate to live in Florence, OR, just a quick drive from this lovely, rustic cabin. I've stayed here twice now with family (the 2nd time with one of my dogs) and there is an immediate sense of comfort when you walk in, as if you've returned home. Even my dog sensed this reassuring atmosphere - I've not seen her so relaxed in a long time, it was like she had always live there. The cabin is lake-front with a long staircase down to the private dock with kayaks and other types of boats - lovely for lounging on with a glass of wine as well if you take down a couple of light camp chairs provided by the hosts. You can also feed the critters with critter food Joan, the host, provides - the chipmunks are the tamest I've ever seen in my life and even tapped on the window once to let me know it was their 'feeding time'. Joan, the host, is a responsive communicator if the occasional question comes up. If you appreciate a true rustic cabin experience that is comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully stocked with necessary amenities in a peaceful, serene environment with beautiful views of Collard Lake, this cabin won't disappoint!

Excellent Host

Even though the property owners were out of town the week we came, they showed they really cared by checking in before and during our stay! The property was just how the photos show it. It was such a nice and quiet getaway for my husband and I.

Beautiful setting

Stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our visit. Everything imaginable was provided. A fairly long flight of stairs leads to the water with boats available for use. A really quiet area with just the usual suberbia noises (Dogs, building projects, etc.). Overall a nice relaxing place while sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. It's about a 15 minute drive to Old Town Florence so it's easy to access the great restaurants and shops. Would recommend as a great vacation spot.

Beautiful views, peaceful and comfortable

We totally enjoyed our stay. The home is set up with everything you need and is impeccably maintained. We watched mother does with their fawns, rabbits and other wildlife. Morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lake. A warm pellet dyove for yoasty evenings.

Peaceful, beautiful and comfortable retreat

Cabin just as pictured. Hosts absolutely the best. You are made to feel at home and welcomed. Great place to relax and enjoy the lake view. Wonderful for kayaking with the provided kayaks. A canoe provided also. Bed was comfortable and cabin clean and well stocked. Very close to shopping, restaurants and beaches. Highly recommend. We are anxious to return.

Very peaceful. Everything was wonderful.

Overall awesome little retreat. Well stocked cabin with everything you need. Bed in bedroom very comfortable-futon upstairs not so much. Property is on a steep grade but that was pointed out in the listing. Overall 5 star. Thank you.

Lake getaway

John and I have lived in the Florence area for the past 19 years. We love the outdoors and now that we're retired we have been enjoying the many trails and lakes in this area.

We live close by Collard Lake, but have not had access to this lake until we purchased this cabin from our friends about 2 years ago. Since there is no public dock, the only watercraft we see on the lake are canoes and kayaks and rowboats that the neighbors are paddling. It's very quiet and peaceful. So, when our cabin is not rented, we often spend time there, paddling on the beautiful waters. We also love hiking and the neighborhood is great for walking.

It's very private, surrounded by trees, with a great view of the lake. It's rustic, but well built and comfortable and clean with all the amenities for an enjoyable stay.
