Beautiful Getaway

This property was incredibly beautiful and comfortable. We had no problems or issues during our stay. Kitchen is wonderful for large groups and the view is stunning.

We had an amazing time at this very unique cottage, and loved the quirky layout. The property was beautiful and we felt at home very quickly. The river was great for some light canoeing and kayaking, and when the weather turned rainy, we enjoyed the shuffleboard table. There was so much to do, and so many ways to relax. Absolutely wonderful.

Solid Spot

Went here with a group of friends in our 30s/40s for a weekend of puzzles, games, and quiet winter calm. It was a lovely and comfortable space. Thank you for your hospitality!

Great Group Retreat

Property was as described and seen in photos...very private! Very spacious! Dock area and fireplace were well used! And large eat-in space met the needs of our group! Hosts responded promptly to our communications.

Piece of paradise

The long beautiful road takes you to a stunning, peaceful and quite place. The KITCHEN.. amazing! The view is by far the best with the sound of moon river all Night long. Cant go wrong with this place.

Country Escape

Tucked away Oasis

This property is beautifully tucked away alongside pristine Moon river.. views from different areas of the cottage are stunning! We enjoyed daily walks along the quiet country roads and ended up lighting a fire outside with hot chocolate and plenty of stories! Inside you can also enjoy the ambiance of a wooden fireplace which was important to us.. The place was open concept kitchen.. leading to the cozy living area.. The two downstairs bedrooms overlook the stunning water and each have their own unique washrooms!

Water's Edge Wonders

I can't say enough about our stay at Waters Edge. It was everything we'd hoped for and then some. The facilities were top notch. Although it lacked a beach, the 5 kids really enjoyed swimming and diving off the dock. They also caught numerous (small) fish off the dock as well. The canoe, kayaks and were paddle board were well used. The natural beauty was breathtaking. Any contact we had with Jakub was answered and dealt with promptly. I could go on and on but I'm sure by now you get the gist of what I'm saying. Truly a GEM!

Gorgeous property

The property is gorgeous. Beautiful views. Pristine lake. Very nice home. Huge kitchen. Lots of space for our big family. Owner very responsive to any request or question. Shawn (the handyman) was outstanding and always willing to help. Town of Bala about 10 minutes from home. Bring your bug spray! Mosquitos/flies were very bad at times. Canoes were a lot of fun. Easy swimming and fishing off new dock. Very secluded, which we loved! Wi-Fi is not great, if that’s important to you. Great star gazing on the dock. Highly recommend this property.

Beautiful Scenic location

Our extended Family gathered for one week including 93 year old grand mother, aunt and uncle, cousins, adult children and grand children all enjoyed this beautiful space, the bunkies, the water front and the quiet surroundings.. They offered and included everything we needed however, those hot late afternoons could have used much stronger air conditioning flow and of course, the satellite strength was very frustrating along with the internet capacity. Those amenities could definitely be improved upon.. Beyond those concerns, the drive-in is an experience landing at this beautiful cottage location not far from Bala. Everyone must try the bakery and a trip to Port Carling was a delightful afternoon with a 2 hour cruise. Overall, we had a great week and hopefully, technology improvements catches up to this unique cottage for the coming months ahead. Thanks again !!!!

We have updated the internet to Star Link so internet is has a very strong signal and stable. We also have a backup generator incase of hydro outages, which many cottages do not have.

Nice Secluded Property in Beautiful Bala

We loved coming to the town of Bala, lots of cute shops and good food. The waterfalls are also beautiful. The property is nestled deep into a secluded 18 acre property, with no neighbours in site. Perfect amount of privacy for us. We enjoyed the outdoor space, lots of watercrafts to enjoy, and a great open space to have fires at night. The firewood was also provided for us. We did run into a couple hiccups at the beginning of our stay, but the owner Jakub was quick with his responses and efficient in getting someone out there to fix the problems. Shawn, the handyman, was a really friendly guy and got things sorted out for us very quickly! He also brought us a couple cases of water, bottles of wine and offered to take our garbage at the end of our stay for the inconvenience. During our stay, we did have a very hot week and the A/C wasn’t able to keep up so it was very hot inside. The basement stayed a bit cooler, thankfully, since I had my 8 month old daughter with us. We stayed the second last week of June and there were still black flies and deer flies out, but we had thermacels with us that worked wonders. They weren’t too bothersome out on the water, but more closer to the cottage. But this is to be expected in this area at this time. Was amazing to have the bbq hooked up to the gas line, so we didn’t have to worry about running out of propane. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the cottage and were very happy with the communication service provided to us.

Amazing rental in need of a little love

To start, the setting of this cottage, and the cottage itself are incredible. The owner/host is a great open communicator, and our stay was every bit of the relaxing escape we were hoping for. We stayed here during the middle of winter, but could see the amazing potential of the property in the warmer months. The drawbacks are few, but should be noted. As mentioned we stayed during the height of winter, so we spent nearly all of our time indoors. The TV. During the warmer months, who cares much about the TV in a cottage, but in the winter it's a must. The pictures showed a reasonable sized TV but upon our arrival we saw what was barely a little 27" TV in a room much too big for this little monitor. Luckily two of our part weren't arriving until the next day so they were able to bring us a TV that allowed us to set it across the room and all be able to see the action. Of note, the Starlink internet is perfect on tis property, not inside and out, with all of us connected with our phones, laptops and the TV. The couch. There is but the 1 couch in the main entertainment room where the TV and fireplace are, and it's very uncomfortable. It looks great and photographs well, but in terms of being a comfortable spot to relax it leaves much to be desired. The kitchen. Most everything needs to be replaced in terms of the pans, pots and cooking utensils. We'd go back, but would hope many of these items would be addressed in advance. It would be a 5-star if so.

The river access combined with the amenities make this property an ideal family summer destination. The hot tub makes for a nice “rain day” or evening activity and the fire pit is so inviting.

Amazing property with lots of space available for multiple families or groups of people. Kitchen came fully equipped with everything you'll need. The property is very secluded, the only noise you'll hear are the nearby animals and waterfalls. The stars overhead were like something we had never seen before. The kayaks and canoe were great fun for us all to use. Would love to come back here one day.
