Perfect place for walking around. It’s in the heart of South Lake Tahoe.

Tahoe 5/23

Loved the property except the music was very loud in the public area outside our windows...not affiliated with Marriott. Rock music loudly playing is not relaxing and we came to relax. Hopefully, someone can talk to the owners of the pee wee golf/ice skating area and have them turn the music down. Otherwise a great property.

Heavenly did a good job ruining it

I am willing to pay extra for this place because it is walk in to the gondola. Except when the gondola doesn't run which seems to be about 50% of the time in my experience over the years. No biggy, in that case we have an alternative: drive to the CA main lodge ... except surprise surprise starting this year you need to reserve parking ... and of course 'on the day of' there is no more parking available ... so Heavenly says take the free shuttle bus ! Except when the gondola is closed there is an enormous amount of people that need this, but apparently no extra busses ?!? That is absurd really. Then again when you finally arrive after 1.5+ hour waiting for a spot on the damn free bus, then you find that The Gunbarrel lift has a wait time of almost another hour ... all things said and done I got my first run in at 11:30am!!! Not the experience I was paying big bucks for.

I made a reservation through Expedia/VRBO, and the host canceled less than 24 hours before check-in without providing any explanation. When I contacted Expedia, they were not aware that the reservation had been canceled. I then contacted VRBO, where the listing was posted. VRBO was unable to reach the host to determine the reason for the cancellation and could only confirm that the reservation had been active and fully confirmed in their system. As a result, I had to spend valuable time working with VRBO to obtain a refund and find a replacement accommodation at the last minute. The available options were limited, significantly more expensive, and not what we originally expected. This trip was for my daughter's soccer tournament, so having our lodging canceled at the last minute created unnecessary stress and inconvenience. It was disappointing that the host did not consider the impact such a late cancellation would have on travelers who were depending on the reservation. VRBO informed me that they are investigating the host and that penalties may apply due to the last-minute cancellation, especially since the reservation was listed as non-refundable. Based on this experience, I would not recommend booking with this host.
