Beautiful, Private and peaceful setting! 1 large bedroom cottage in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Cottage is located in Republic Michigan and sits on 12.5 acres and 970 ft of frontage on the Michigamme River. Very private, easy access, which is just about 100 yards off the Highway, so easily accessible in the summer and fall with any vehicle. Great kayaking river, nearby ATV and Snowmobile trails, many nearby lakes offering great Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, and Panfish. There are also many nearby Trout streams, and Good Deer, Grouse Hunting. Our Cabin is easily accessible and very private. Enjoy beauty of our flowing river while relaxing on the porch with your morning cup of coffee. Then enjoy kayaking, canoeing, fishing, or just relaxing on the shoreline. You Will have 970 feet of river frontage to enjoy. There are many Bald Eagles, Deer, Turkey, and Occasionally Moose in the area. You will have the entire property to yourself and the surrounding wildlife. This Cottage is located 45 minutes from Iron Mountain, Michigan and 45 Minutes from Marquette Michigan. This is a nice central location to take in many beautiful U.P. attractions with an hour or less drive. we provide pretty much everything you will need during your stay.


Great deer hunting during the Michigan bow and gun deer seasons. lots of public land.

Great Location for ATV, UTV's, All Terrain Vehicles. There are many miles of roads and trails that are easily accessible and also many small remote lakes and streams to explore.

For the dirt bike enthusiasts, there is a very nice trail system just 5 miles from our cottage (Porterfield Trail System)


Book early for snowmobile season!! the cottage is located very close to trail number 5. very easy access and a nice warm cabin to return to after a long day on the trail.

There are also many ice fishing opportunities in the area, so if you are interested in trying ice fishing, there are many nearby lakes with good fishing for Bluegills, Crappie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Yellow Perch. If you are new to ice fishing, and want to give it a try, I would be happy to provide some assistance if available.

If you are interested in a Great Lakes Charter fishing trip, there are a couple of charters available in on Lake Superior that offer great Lake Trout fishing and only about an hour and a half drive from our cottage. if interested, please ask and I will gladly give you some contacts for a great charter fishing trip.



The Marquette area, which is only about 45 minutes has many great dining options, shopping.

Very nice, clean and well-stocked small cabin on a big river-front lot. Beautiful and convenient setting along highway 95. Great fishing, hiking and hunting nearby. My Verizon phone had trouble getting a signal there but other carriers would probably be better. Wifi would have been nice but not everyone needs that. Ken and Sara were very nice and accommodating.

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying here. The grounds were peaceful and private, and we loved relaxing by the river. We kayaked upriver and saw a bald eagle, muskrat, and turtles! This is centrally located in the UP so we were able to check out many sites within a couple hours drive. The house had everything we needed, and Ken and Sara were responsive to all our questions. Ken told us about several area lakes, and we had a fantastic time kayaking and fishing. I highly recommend this home!

Cabin was perfect! Everything was clean, and it was very well stocked for our needs. The river was very peaceful and we even saw a few deer! Host was very quick to respond and very helpful throughout the stay. The internet is a bit spotty (it is the U.P after all) but with some patience it worked well enough for us. There’s no air conditioning but even on a 80 day it was fine after opening some windows. As a first time renter I was a bit anxious, but this was a perfect first stay!

Great Nature Getaway

Wonderful nature getaway where you can unplug and be in a private setting. I love how big the yard is and that there is a gate. This is my second time here and I’ll definitely be back!

Clean, good selection of cooking utensils. Terrific location to off-road motorcycle trails at Porterfield. Very nice yard with lots of room. Nice grill for cooking. Nice view of river and private.

Our third visit to this cabin, which is very clean, quaint, and meets all of our needs. Centrally located to the many outdoor activates we pursue. Host is very communicative with suggestions to make your stay even more enjoyable. We will return.

It’s a very nice and clean cottage on a river. I stayed there because it was a central location to explore different places in the central Upper Peninsula. The location is a bit remote, being about 20 miles from a grocery store and restaurants, but I didn’t find that to be a major problem. All in all I had a pleasant experience and recommend this cottage to others.

Great Getaway

This is a great getaway for anyone who wants to enjoy the quiet outdoors. The owners checked in to make sure we made it, left kayaks out for our use and followed up on the day we left. Very friendly and clean!

Perfect quiet and remote

This was the perfect way for us to get away from the business of our lives with 6 children after caretaking for sick parents for the last 5 years. We napped in the quiet of the forest and did some sight seeing as we wanted. The cabin is well stocked you’ll only need to take some food and your personal items.

Excellent

This cabin was the perfect place to stay to rest and relax. It was very clean and cozy with everything we needed to be comfortable. The location allowed us to travel in different directions each day to see different areas of the state.

Amazing peace of paradise

Our stay was amazing. It was exactly what my family needed. The property is everything you could ever ask for and the cabin was super clean and cozy. It had everything you could think of to cook and plenty of things to entertain the kids. The river is really relaxing, we recommend making this your next destination.

Great cabin, quiet spot

A great little cabin to explore the UP from. Very relaxing and out of the way. Plenty of privacy yet all the comforts of home. No real cell signal, so be prepared to enjoy some of life without the internet. Would stay again!

We love to fish and enjoy the Upper Penninsula outdoors, and as hosts, we can let others enjoy this beautiful private cottage. We both love to fish and travel around the UP and Northern Wisconsin and are very familiar with the area attractions, so don’t hesitate to ask for ideas on places to see or directions. We want our guests to have a great time and enjoy their stay, and we welcome you to our cottage!

This property has been in our family for 30 plus years and chose it because of the easy access and privacy. there are many great lakes and streams for fishing and great hunting. Located just 45 minutes from Marquette, 45 minutes from Iron Mountain, and about 50 minutes to Escanaba, and 1 hour from Baraga/Laanse on the West side of the UP. It’s a great location to see much of the UP with less than an hour drive. There is a nice little beach area in Republic, which is only 5 miles and also a bar and restaurant.

very private! with almost 1000 feet of river frontage, this property has great kayaking, canoeing, great smallmouth bass, Walleye, and Northern Pike fishing, and very close to ATV and Snowmobile trails. great fishing and hunting in the area. Many nearby lakes and trout streams and large areas of public hunting land nearby. as guests, you will have the entire 12 acres of property to yourself to enjoy. the property is very easy to access. Within 10 miles, there are several great lakes and trout streams to explore. we have even had guests find "Yooper lites" along the river on our property. Great deer hunting is all around as well, and for the snowmobile and ATV enthusiasts, the trails are just within a mile of the cottage.
