We were looking for a place to stay while enjoying the activities the area had to provide. We could not have been more pleased with our selection! Our family had a fantastic time staying at the property…the property owner was really responsive with the check in and out process and made us feel right at home! The house was VERY spacious with fantastic amenities… a great kitchen and, per everyone in the family, a fantastic pool where every evening wound down! We would really enjoy staying here again in the future!!

Excellent Time

We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful cabin. Minutes from our marina at Crystal Springs we were easily able to make it back and forth. Everyone also loved the pool.

Cleanliness: Main floor was clean. Lower floor game room had spiders and eggs on the garage doors. Lower level patio hadn't been cleaned in months. Patio exterior door, windows, grill and glass table were filthy. Unrepaired damage/Neglect: One foot hole in bedroom door, broken lamp in living room, missing window treatments on three windows, chipping paint on patio door, broken dishwasher rack, missing sheets on bed (replacements had to be brought to us, we washed and made bed). Safety issues: Large stack of rotted lumber with nails sticking out on patio, two 12" holes in deck leading to swimming pool (tripping hazard for adults, injury hazard for small children), cloudy pool water. Pool was shocked minutes before we arrived and never attained clarity. Disregard for Privacy: House is listed for sale and someone showed up with a key code to the house for a "tour". I had to ask them to leave. Misrepresentation: Photos are misleading. Pool was never clear. Damage is hidden and not shown. Safety issues are hidden and not shown. This home was beautiful at some point but it has been very neglected. We had to contact the host at least ten times during our stay. If we had small children, we would have asked to be relocated. No rest for the weary.

Awesome amenities and plenty of room to relax.

We had a wonderful stay at Old Bear Creek. The home was clean and so much room. We enjoyed having multiple tables .. we played many games of dominos and other games. The pool was wonderful! Then at night we hung out on the patio and watched the Perseid meteor showers! We hope to return next year!

Absolutely Perfect!

The house and amenities MORE than met our expectations, and communication with the owners was easy! This was the 13th year of our families vacationing together, and everyone agreed this was the best house we’ve rented so far! Hopefully schedules line up so we can rent this house again next summer! 😃

Perfect Vacation

We just returned from a wonderful week with family visiting from England at old bear creek. The house is perfect. Plenty of room for a big family or group of friends to come together or enjoy quiet time alone in the many well thought out spaces in the home. A lovely pool outside (a couple of floaties, pool towels and an airpump included) and lots of outdoor dining/lounging options. House is very clean and beautifully decorated. Kitchen is well equipped and big enough to make meals for the family. Beds are super comfortable (one is shorter than the other and would be perfect for a child or shorter adult) water pressure in bathrooms is very good. The many thoughtful touches around the house (coffee flavors, scented candles, lotions) makes it just perfect. You will not regret a stay here. We'll definitely be back.

Great Spot!

Huge house with lots of space and amazing wrap around porch. Super clean when we arrived, easy check-in, nice appliances, new TVs, and ample kitchen supplies. Pool was nice and clean with some extra rafts and an inflator available. The game room downstairs was really fun with air hockey, bags, ping pong, and TV. Our two kids thoroughly enjoyed running all around the place. Everything seemed to be well kept and actively maintained. Location was nice and quiet, but not too far a drive from activities in the area. There's a dollar store near by with basics and a few restaurants too. We had a crazy heavy hail event that damaged the water line at the house and the host came to help troubleshoot and get it fixed promptly. They stayed in communication and were helpful and friendly. Fortunately, the covered parking saved our car from damage. We had a great stay, would definitely do it again!

Great for our large group!

The lodge was great! It could fit a lot more than advertised. I was worried about the pool being warm enough because it isn’t heated, but it was wasted worry, the pool was perfect and the kids played in it the entire time! The location was great for going to lake Hamilton, running to the store, hunting crystals, etc. The house was great for having multiple areas for puzzles, games, movies and hanging out to all occur without interfering with each other. We even had a storm one night where we turned off all the lights and just watched/listened from the wrap around porch…super cool. We did have to run to the store the first night and grab a few essentials for the kitchen…like trash bags, ziploc containers, detergent and wash cloths/sponges, kitchen towels, etc…but those items are always an unknown until you get there. But, overall the house was perfect for what we needed and was larger and more accommodating than we expected.
