Welcome to Sunbird! Beachfront with large sundecks, walk to community pool!

The views from Sunbird will steal your breath away, whether you're looking out windows or relaxing on the sun-splashed decks. The top-level deck is off one of the two master bedrooms, while the deck on the main level wraps completely around the house providing shade when you need it. The main level features two living areas, and open kitchen and a third bedroom. The parking level provides a laundry room, outside shower, fish cleaning sink and a boardwalk to the beach. The St. George Plantation clubhouse and pool are just a short walk away.

Suncoast Vacation Rentals offers a wide selection of beach homes and cottages on St. George Island ranging from one to eight bedrooms. Our rates are some of the most competitive on the island, for which we provide nice beach homes for an affordable price. All of our beach homes have televisions with cable and DVD/VCR's. What a fabulous house!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: SunBird is a gem of a Gulf Front home located in the exclusive Plantation of St George Island. The expansive windows provide a panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico. The wrap around deck is fabulous. Three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms give lots of clean, comfortable space. SunBird’s Plantation location is ideal for beach walking and bike riding. Suncoast Vacation Rental was an excellent property manager.

Black mold dripping on master bed

The house was not only dirty, but the master bedroom (and bathroom) had black mold dripping onto bed from AC vent. This was a two night stay that me, my husband and ONE YEAR OLD had to sleep on a couch. The one full day we spent there they sent a handy man over with no warning completely disturbing our stay. Very disappointed and would never rent here again.

Great Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sunbird is in a great location in the plantation. The house is light and roomy with lots of separate places for everyone. We liked the openness of the main floor as well as the small den. The deck is great with a covered area thanks to the small balcony above. This house is in need of updating. Sliding doors are sticky, some sinks are slow to drain, some screens need replacing. One pet peeve I have is that all the windows needed cleaning. The beautiful view of the gulf was obstructed by the misty windows. My husband and I cleaned them in about an hour and a half , but I wish they had been cleaned by the rental company. Still, this is a nice house with lots of light and plenty of space inside and out.

Master upstairs beachside bedroom door is in bad condition. Same bedroom the bed (mattress) could be improved. Not sure about the other beds. Sliding doors going out to deck are very hard to open and need adjusting. House is well appointed and location is perfect. Thank you

weekend stay

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would only recommend this place due to the location on the beach. the house itself is old and has not been remodeled or updated. The house sleeps 6-8 adults but only had 2 chairs on the deck. the floors were very dirt. I wiped up water from the floor and the paper towel was black! in one bathroom alone, 6 lights were burnt out above the sink. none of the drains worked the door from the bedroom going to the patio was broken, kitchen bar stools very rusted. we were given 1 towel, 1 hand towel and one wash cloth each per 5 adults. no extra towels. no beach towels, it was just a very run down place. No extra pillows or blankets. the doors were very rusted from the salt air and would not lock. windows were very very dirty. if the owner would spend just a little bit, they could make it nice. I would not recommend this place until some money is spent on it to add a few items and update it.

St George Island getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the pleasure of staying at Sunbird located inside the exclusive and gated St George plantation. The house is on the beach, ranked one of the top beaches in the country. Because of its remote location, we mostly had the beach to ourselves which was very nice. But to go anywhere outside the community is a hike. We didn’t mind the remoteness but to get to town itself is about a 10-15 minute drive. The community itself has great trails to ride bikes with little salt marsh parks to stop and sit along the way. There’s a community pool as well. The beach was beautiful, crystal clear water, white powdery sand, and we saw dolphin every day. There were turtle nests on the beach behind the house.The water was mostly calm but on the day it was churned up a bit we saw jellyfish. The path down to the beach from the house is easy and short but there are some stairs and a sloped walkway leading down from the deck and an outdoor shower on the backside of the house. The deck upstairs was closed off and gated, great for our little pups or children too if you need it. We sat out there quite a bit. The house itself is somewhat dated but the views were worth it. Our first night we encountered a large palmetto bug in the master bedroom upstairs. The second and third night there were storms in the middle of the night and if you’re a light sleeper like me that room is the loudest in the house. It has its own deck and door leading out to over look the beach. Maybe the wind whistles thru the door so it was difficult to sleep thru that. My husband had no problem though! I moved downstairs to the room with the twin beds just behind the kitchen facing the front of the house and it was very quiet despite also having a door leading out to the deck. My son slept in the other bedroom upstairs and it was also very quiet. The beds were comfortable. The wifi worked and there was working cable on one tv. The furnishings are dated and worn but the views make up for that

Pet Friendly too so our fur baby was happy to be with us! IF you are fussy or fancy then St. George Island isn't your place, but this house is simple and furnished well for people who have spent the day on the beach!

Great location and views major upgrades needed

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’m just going to be overly honest. We found this rental in April so we were lucky to find a house. It’s located in the Plantation which was the first time we stayed there. Amazing community. A little far from town for our liking but we were the closest to the beach that we have ever been and it was so secluded. The house however needs major work. And I’m not busy talking about the decor because to each their own. Only two of the tvs worked one tv was a zenith boxed tv. The outside patio chairs were all busted and nasty. We had to use our beach chairs to even sit outside which is crazy for this price point. The floors were questionable in places felt like it was giving out and the carpets were gross. When we ran hot water from upstairs shower you heard a roaring through the entire house. The outside locks didn’t work. My daughter opened one and we couldn’t get it locked. The rental company was responsive and sent somebody though. The biggest thing was my daughter saw a rat. A legit rat. I almost didn’t believe her and when I woke up the next morning I found a rat had chewed through our food. I called the renal company and they said it was because of the storms and they would call pest control. I would give them that if everything in that house was properly sealed which it’s not. Great property but prematurely rented. And for the price point you expect some things to not be rat invested and outdoor chairs broke. Disappointed for sure.

Great secluded and quiet spot.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love that we didn't have a crowded beach. Still early in the season, but nice. The condo was nice, but is in need of some updates. Don't understand why the lower back bedroom is part of the upstairs thermostat, 1st night we froze due to it being set on cool at 60 degrees. Overall it was a great time and we would like to come back to the Plantation again.
