when we arrived it was raining and got drenched at back door with no awning, rain pouting off roof overhead on back steps, super small rug upon entry, no rug at the side door. you can easily hear neighbors upstairs and it seems like there was another unit downstairs in which you could hear them at night. The view of the river in back was top notch and peaceful.. The beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked.

Very nice location right in Algoma and very near Lake Michigan with a nice string to kayak in right behind the house. It was quite clean and relaxing and we were able to do laundry and use the full kitchen. Very nice patio overlooking the river and lots of nice wildlife to watch as well as beautiful foliage. A great experience overall and we'll be back!

Lovely, so very comfortable place to stay! We had a great time and it was very convenient for all the exploring in Door County that we wanted to do.

The home was very clean except the floor. It was swept but we believe it was not washed before we arrive.

Hi Gail Thank you for your review. I apologize about the floors. We have had some issues with chemical buildup. I personally went there yesterday with a new water extraction floor cleaning system. We will be using that from this point forward. Thank you for choosing us for your stay.

I always give pros and cons because rarely is there a perfect stay. This property is in a neighborhood. The back deck has nice scenery of the creek. This is a good place to stay if you’re sight seeing and just sleep here. The property had everything we needed. A few things that need fixing. No screen on the bedroom window. I like fresh air when I sleep. One window in the living room didn’t lock. Only light in the living room didn’t work. The side door wasn’t a tight close you could see out side. Overall it was a place to sleep but I’m not sure if I stayed there alone I would have felt safe.

The property was set in a picturesque location and offered a clean, pleasant atmosphere. Its proximity to both the town and Door County made it especially convenient. The addition of a washer and dryer was a thoughtful and much-appreciated feature.

Algoma Stay

Clean, convenient and comfortable. Easily maintained and close to the bike trail and downtown. I hope to stay here again next October for biking and kayaking.

Perfect for a family of 4, we made it work with one bathroom! House was nice, enjoyed the yard and the kayaks. Good restaurants in the area!

Our stay in Unit A made for a most enjoyable and relaxing visit to Door County. Joseph was an excellent host, quickly responding to questions and the property reflected the intent to make guests comfortable and welcomed. We would not hesitate to book this unit again for our future visits and recommend this location and hosts. The rustic setting, great views and well stocked unit made this the ideal place to stay! Thank you to our hosts and their property staff…well done!

Algoma Get Away

The property is very nice! The host has done a great job providing everything you need in terms of practicality—bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, and a well supplied kitchen. This is a lovely place to stay in Algoma, easy walking distance to the harbor and restaurants, shops etc., while also being located in a very quiet neighborhood.

Just what we needed

Small and simple, perfect for a stay that involves lots of adventuring but you want to have a kitchen available for easy quick meals. As other reviewers said, there is quite a lot of noise from neighbors, but that's to be expected from an older home. It was awesome having kayaks available and Algoma was just an hour or so drive from so many fun things to do.

Waterfront Property

I was recovering from surgery and wanted a quiet and tranquil place to recover. The property served the intended purpose. The host was easy to contact, friendly, and very responsive. Thank you.

Quite and relaxing with view of river.

Joseph was very accommodating returning messages promptly. The street is narrow but we still managed to back our boat in the driveway. We loved the peaceful quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed listening to the birds sing, the geese swim by and a few kayakers. Thank you for the bottle of wine. We enjoyed it. This will be on my favorite list for our next visit.

Exactly what we were looking for!

Newly renovated and very welcoming! We enjoyed everything about our stay here. The first night there was a family with a lot of kids upstairs so you heard them running around, but it was nothing crazy. They had some ground coffee available and a bottle of wine, both locally sourced. I love the support of local businesses! Overall a quiet town, but can easily access a supermarket, winieries and restaurants. Loved the use of the kayaks went out in them a few times. Only thing i would recommend to the owners is to provide a few more pillows, we usually bring ours from home, but we accidentally left them behind.

Great rental, hosts were very responsive to messages. Clean property, didn't realize it had other rentals attached to it, which wasn't a problem but our kids were a little loud and didn't want to disturb others. This is why we stay at vrbos and not hotels.
