Family reunion at the Hemingway retreat

What a beautiful property that fits our large famiky needs perfectly. House was in great shape (and available 90 mins earlier than stated). Pool was a perfect answer to the heat wave and kept everyone occupied. Kitchen was well equipped. Highly recommend this property for any larger groups!

Fantastic Stay

Our group had a wonderful time in Lovettsville - the house had everything we needed. From afternoons in the pool and tennis court to evenings cooking group meals in the lovely kitchen we all had a wonderful time. The property is centrally located and easy to get to a variety of activities like the wineries and tubing. Paul goes above & beyond to make you and your group feel comfortable. Would highly recommend for your next friend/family vacation!

Beautiful Getaway

The house was lovely and very clean. Great amenities. The only issue was the internet but that's common in that rural area and it's a great way to learn to disconnect and appreciate what's in front of you. I highly recommend this place. It would be fun to go with a some friends and hit the nearby wineries, antiquing, and just relaxing with the pool, tennis courts, fire pit, and beautiful landscapes.

We stayed here for my daughters college graduation the owner was super sweet understanding and helpful the pictures does this beautiful property no justice we walked in and were in awe definitely will be back thank you Paul

Excellent location in the rolling hills of Virginia, overlooking a small Equestrian venue about a 1/2 mile away. The trail (road) is packed gravel and suitable for jogging and biking (very popular there). Much wildlife to watch. The pool, fire pit, and deck are 1st class. The only issue was the aggregate in the deck is somewhat sharp for tender feet.The tennis court surface is aged but still fun if you aren't playing seriously.Minor issue would be to have more clothing hanging racks in bedrooms. Some of the kitchen cabinet doors need to be tightened up, but no big deal. One A/C unit was quite loud on the first floor. We ran it on auto to minimize the running time.We cleaned up pretty thoroughly and left things as instructed, so there were no "add-ons" after our departure.Paul (our contact) was outstanding. He responded very quickly to several calls that we made. Overall - Excellent.Cheers!

Swimming or Tennis?

Tough choice. Why not both? That was the biggest appeal of Hemingway’s Retreat, and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, of course. Good kitchen is also a must. This property has it all.

We reserved this beautiful house so we could attend our Grandson’s wedding. The house was perfect for us. We had another couple, my sister, plus 5 grandchildren, and we all had space for privacy as well as plenty of space for us to all congregate together. The house is unique, and is stocked better than any home we’ve rented before. Kitchen fully equipped, and with extras. Plenty of bedding supplies, towels, and toiletries. Beautiful pool and hot tub all equipped with beach towels, pool toys and floatables, even swim goggles and sunscreen!!! They thought of everything Adding to the fun, the house had a foosball table, arcade games, puzzles, board games, books - you name it - it was there. Special treat! It has a cotton candy machine! And a Hawaiian sno cone machine!!The host is thoroughly accommodating and a real pleasure to work with. Excellent communication and very informative. One of the best rentals we’ve had. Definitely deserves a 5 star rating, and a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10!Would definitely do again, and would definitely reserve any properties sponsored by this host. Highly recommend

This was the perfect house for our family. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed, toys for the kids, the pool was amazing. Plenty of shower and pool towels and communication was great!

We had a family reunion (12 people)80th birthday celebration Memorial Day weekend. Though the weather did not cooperate everyone had a wonderful time. Plenty of bedrooms/ baths for everyone to spread out and sleep well. Fully equipped kitchen and a game room filled with lots of surprises which kept our 11 year old guest very happy. We could not use the pool but the kids would run out and play some tennis in between the cold rain. Lovettsville is beautiful. Vineyards and Tasting Rooms, Civil War Trails, etc. We had the birthday catered, Travinia in Leesburg, Va. Just wonderful. Paul was a wonderful host and we hope to go back again!
