This was a WONDERFUL spot for a big group of people! My friends and I had plenty of space and enjoyed ourselves. The driveway turnoff is very easy to miss and it can be a little bumpy along the way, so be careful especially in the rain.

As advertised, the house sleeps 10-12 people comfortably. However the house is not conducive to 10 guests as far as table space and sitting areas. It was also lacking necessary items such as the proper number of spoons and glasses needed for a large group. Maintenance overall was lacking. Toilet paper holder broken, pots and pans scratched and burnt on stuff. Outside area needs cleaned up. Pond was a hit with the boys but a challenge to get to. I would not stay here again.

Beautiful home in the woods in close proximity to the C&O Canal Towpath and the AT. Quiet, well stocked, lots of beds and gathering spaces. Close to Shepherdstown dining and shopping.

Perfect for a Family Getaway

Our large family loved coming together at this beautiful home! We enjoyed sitting around the large kitchen and beautiful living room while the teens and kids enjoyed the game room and the basketball area. We also loved having a large property to explore

in the area working for the power company. the property is great. house is awsome and clean. plenty of room for everyone to have privacy. host is very helpful and flexible

Unique home

Plenty of room for six of us adults. The surrounding area is beautiful & historic. Didn’t really use the living room with TV, which is separate from kitchen but that was ok for us as we played card & board games at night. Fire pit area was great; game room fun for a few games of pool & pingpong. Unique house layout for sure!

Very restful vacation

Lovely home. Kitchenware needs to be expanded unless you grill daily. Three generations can be accommodated easily. Quickly responded when we reported wasps near the door of the porch.

Secluded Retreat

Beautiful home with much attention to detail and the needs of the renter. Outside there is terrain to explore, a basketball court, places to play, and seating areas including a wonderful screened in porch. Inside there is a great variety of bedrooms and bathrooms, an enormous well-equipped kitchen, centrally located washer and dryer, and a super fun game room. This a wonderful property and my family enjoyed our stay completely.

Happy harbor

A lovely property with plenty of spaces inside and out. Most importantly CLEAN. A few things to mention_ no lock on front door, no pool stick tips, could not find path to swimming hole 😞. Well appointed kitchen. A great place for a family gathering!

Winery Weekend

We booked this place for 12 adults and it was last minute as the previously booked location cancelled the day before the trip. We doubled up in each room. It had everything we needed plus a pool. It is located close to numerous wineries and is right next door to the brewery. There was plenty of parking for everyone. The place was clean and checkin and checkout was easy. We property manager was quick to reply to any questions we had. The view was amazing especially for the sunrise!

Great stay!

We had a group of friends getting together and really enjoyed the layout of the home. There was ample space to spread out or get together in multiple communal areas. The game room in the basement was great. The only minor issue we had was the wifi connection in the mid level sitting area but when we messaged the property manager we got a very prompt response. Overall I would definitely recommend this property. I would recommend a larger vehicle if you have one as the drive up to the house is a little daunting but not to the point it requires 4 wheel drive, I made it up in a hatchback.

Great space

Great space in an excellent location. The layout is a bit weird and most of the bathrooms aren’t en suite. But the place was really well-appointed. Only real issue is that we weren’t given an “emergency” number to reach for urgent issues and the power went out (just this property) for a bit. Once we reached someone they were very responsive.

Ok but way overpriced

The bedrooms and beds are good. Its a big house. Fireplace doesn't work, basketball hoop broken, kitchen is mediocre, trash in the woods, Tv a bit difficult to use, furniture, bathrooms, and general aesthetics meh. If it were 40% cheaper it would all be fine.

Gorgeous house in the woods

Phenomenal house with a unique layout that brings groups closer together. The drive up is a bit steep, but the home is enchanting and located well in the woods. Very private and a great getaway. The outdoor play area is sweet, but the hoop did break on us after regular usage which was a bit disappointing. The grill worked perfectly and was clean. Towels were provided and all the bathrooms were spotless. There were some critters, but it’s to be expected in the woods. A bit on the pricier side but can be worth it with many people as it has everything you need. Hosts are also very quick to respond, and I appreciated their communication throughout.

Great house for a group, with a few suggested improvements

Nice, big house with plenty of room for a larger group. The location is remote, but you can still access Harpers Ferry pretty easily. Check-in was a bit of a struggle for us - we hadn't received the door code and it took about an hour to get in touch with the host. The keypad itself is also quite finicky, but it might have just been low on batteries. The wifi did not work well enough for a larger group, but that might not be a bad thing if you're looking to disconnect!

Annual family gathering

Great house, lots of space to spread out. This is out in nature, so beware of snakes. My pup was bitten by a copperhead (he's ok now) not owners fault, just be aware.There is a need for a generator as power went out once which means no water (no flushing toilets), but the help line was on top of everything and it was fixed before morning. Seriously, this far out you need a generator.Website implies swimming hole is a private part of this property, but there is no clear path from the house. There is a clear path from the neighbors, who used it while we were there. If it is a shared space, say so and make a path.All in all, we enjoyed our stay. Good place to explore civil war history.

Enjoyed the stay but no TV and internet was spotty

Enjoyed the stay, but there was only 1 TV in the house and it didn’t work. Also, the internet was not very reliable and would go in and out depending on where you were in the house. These aren’t huge issues but when you’re paying that much you’d expect those two things to not be a problem.

Hi Mark thank you for this feedback. We have already replaced the non functional TV with a brand new one. As for the wifi we have done all we can to try and get a secure and stable connection. If there are storms and thing this can interfere with the connection.
