When you think of a staying in a cabin, Bobcat Retreat is probably that cabin you dream of. This 1200 square foot A Frame cabin is perfectly located near Deer Mountain with amazing access to the local ATV/Snowmobile trails and the local Mickelson trail!! It boasts a wood-burning fireplace, private deck with hot tub to a private forest view! You're only 5 minutes to the rim-rock canyon walls and waterfalls of Spearfish Canyon, or 15 minutes from Deadwood with taxi service! You can also be enjoying Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Keystone and more attractions in about an hours drive!

The open layout of the A frame cabin is perfect to enjoy some time with your comrades. The cabin can sleep up to 6 in total - queen bed located in the loft, a queen bed in the main floor bedroom, and a futon in the cabin as well. Whether in the area to enjoy the local trail adventures, or just some rest and relaxation, Bobcat Retreat will fulfill your vacation needs. We welcome you on your next Black Hills trip!

This was a nice cozy little cabin that our family of 4 really enjoyed. The deck was perfect to watch the wildlife in the mornings. The check-in process and finding the property was so easy and the host was available if we needed anything.

Overall it was a great place. Location was excellent and it was a very quiet, peaceful, area. It’s perfect for a couple or a small family, as long as you are willing to unplug. I assumed there was WiFi available, but there isn’t. The listing didn’t have it listed in the amenities, but it also didn’t say that it wasn’t available. Cell service is very poor, so you truly will unplug when you are there.

Love this cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed in the cabin two times now and I love it. It is perfect for 2-3 people and it’s just wanted we wanted. Now too big but not too small. We love the deck and the hot tub. The kitchen comes with everything that I need to cook meals and what not. The only thing that I’m not 100% satisfied with is the oven. The oven door does not shut properly so food doesn’t cook evenly. We had to put a chair in front of the oven so it’d be completely shut. But other than that it was perfect!

Dirty, smelly, uncomfortable old cabin with no hot water in the shower and no wifi.They charge a housekeeping fee but are clearly relying on the guests to do all the cleaning. All the coffee mugs had dried rings in them that had to be scrubbed clean before we used them. The carpet looks to be several decades old and is holding a lot of memories. The shower valve was installed wrong so no hot water. The bedroom on the main floor is really cramped and has an extra dresser in the room that only exacerbates how cramped the room is. The upstairs loft has stairs that definitely wouldn't meet any building code and I wouldn't want to navigate them in the dark.Poor cell reception and no wifi mean that you should make sure to plan all your day trips in advance and download offline maps. There is internet in the neighborhood as all the neighbors networks show up when we were checking. Given how dirty and smelly the cabin was, we didn't dare try the hot tub, but if you do, know that it's not as private as the listing makes it out to be.This was the first time we've ever shortened a trip and left early because a property was so gross.

Hot tub was amazing. Very cozy cabin. Deer came into yard which was neat . No Wi-Fi which we made work. Nice couch and chair but neither reclined, which would have been good when relaxing in front of TV. Overall very nice stay.

The rental was okay overall, but it felt average for the price. The space is not especially practical for more than a few people, and even with a small group it was unclear where luggage and other belongings were supposed to go. I also overlooked that Wi-Fi was not included, and cell service at the cabin was very poor on Verizon, which made staying connected difficult.Given the nightly cost, I would recommend looking at other options with more usable space, Wi-Fi, and a simpler checkout process. Guests are asked to do all dishes and put them away, take out the trash, and gather bedding and towels in the laundry room, despite also paying a separate cleaning fee.

Perfect Retreat

This cabin was in a great location and fit our family perfectly. My kids loved the hot tub, hiking in Spearfish and visiting Deadwood.

Great place!

Really enjoyed this cabin and location. No AC but didn’t matter...nice breeze at night with windows open! Peaceful, easy to get to, comfortable! Would definitely rent again!

Cozy Cute and Relaxing

We had the best stay. The cabin was perfect size and so very charming. We were able to relax and unwind with our girls. The hot tub was amazing. Perfect place. We look forward to staying here again.

Cozy and relaxing

We stayed for a week and had a great time. The cabin is very well furnished and anything we forgot, we were able to find. The area is perfect... secluded enough to feel like you're in the hills but still close enough to Lead, Deadwood, and Spearfish. We would definitely stay here again.

Quintessential Cabin

This is a perfect little rustic A-frame. Open layout is perfect for a small family to be able to do their own thing while being close together. Proximity to Terry Peak, hot tub, scenery, wood-burning stove, and quiet neighborhood are also major selling points. We LOVE Bobcat Retreat!

Everything was perfect! Nice and quiet, feels like your all alone, the hot tub is the best one I’ve ever been in! It was a great vacation and I’ll most likely rent this cabin again
