Sweet historic rambling brick cape with extensive frontage on the tidal Eastern River (tributary of the Kennebec River). Fishing, Kayaks, Paddleboards awaiting just a short walk down a gravel path to the riverfront. Charming and private home on larger acreage with long views of farmland and private waterfront. Minutes from the Maine coastline / Wiscasset village / Boothbay harbor / Bath Maritime Museum / Reid State Park / Popham Beach / restaurants / antiquing / galleries / beaches. 3 bedrooms each with queen bed and one with additional double futon. Two full baths, air conditioning, laundry, fully equipped kitchen, small hot tub, linens, towels.

Wonderful home and beautiful location. Check in was a breeze and check out was just as easy! Beds were clean and comfortable and the fresh bouquet of flowers and wine welcoming us was a pleasant surprise!

Great vacation home in a quiet, rural area. We stayed for 3 weeks in August 2026. The property is as described, well-maintained, and stocked with just about anything one would need. The fresh flowers and bottle of wine on arrival were a nice touch. We were traveling with our two dogs and appreciated the large fenced yard. Outdoor areas are also well maintained, especially the gravel path down to the river. Kayaks are stored close to the river, making it easy to take them out. Life vests in a variety of sizes are available. The river is calm and great for a scenic paddle to watch for wildlife. It's not good for swimming. The hosts were great to work with and responded quickly to any questions. Check-in and check-out were a breeze! All bedrooms are on the second floor with stairs that could be an issue for someone with mobility issues - not a problem for us, but should be considered if you have this concern. We enjoyed our stay and will return when we're in the area again.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was super clean and spacious. The bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked so we were able to easily make breakfast each morning. I would definite stay there again. It was just a short drive to many of the places in the area that we wanted to see.

We truly felt right at home with this home! It was a great layout and the separate loft bedroom gave everyone space to spread out. We will definitely be back.

The house was very well appointed. Everything one could want was available. Croquet equipment, paddle ball, kayaks, etc. The interior of house is very attractive and the location was wonderful.

Beautiful and Great Location

Home was perfect for cooking and relaxing out doors. Property owners are very responsive and helpful. No issues and we really enjoyed our stay!

The property was perfect for a long weekend. They guys enjoyed using the kayaks. The property was clean, comfortable and convenient. It was perfect for their weekend away.

Wedding weekend

This was a perfect location and setting for our family stay to attend our nephews wedding. The home has so much character with antique furnishings and a beautiful country setting overlooking the river. The hosts were very accommodating, responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

Serenity

It was a wonderful home. It was warm and welcoming, very clean, easy to find, had a lot of things available to read and also if you wanted to stay in and cook. Easy to travel to local farmers markets and also a short drive to Boothbay Harbor. Plan to stay at least four days in order to see everything in the area including the nearby State Park and the little village nearby. The host was very accommodating with making some suggestions and replies quickly to the emails

Beyond Wonderful

Cant say enough about the Riverfront Sanctuary. Its immaculate. Everything you could need is available. The grounds are stunning, as is the home. Modern convenience wrapped in old world charm. We couldn't stop saying how lovely the place and accomodations were.Communication with Shauna our host were perfect. This is how a Maine Vacation should be.

This property feels like visiting a friend’s home. It is very clean, well maintained and has the incidentals you wouldn’t think to pack. If we needed something it was easily found: life jackets, trash bags and recycling. We enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boards on the river only wishing we hadn't waited until the last day. Do visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay and enjoy the native gardens around this property.
