Amazing

This is an outstanding property. Great house. Great host. Well stocked. Enjoyed watching the tide coming in and going out. Boothbay is a great vacation spot. And a perfect time of year. We had a great time.

Excellent location

Excellent location loved the house waking up to the back river view is beautiful very close to walks downtown Boothbay harbor which is beautiful lovely owner too rent from has a lovely personal touch, will definitely be in touch with again with luck that she has an availability when I would like to go

Wonderful rental property

My 4 friends and I had a wonderful long weekend at this property. Great area for hiking and shopping, this is also our second time renting this property. Highly recommended

Great place to visit

WE LOVED THE LOCATION. SO CLOSE TO THE TOWN AND YET ON THE BAY. WE SAW LOONS, HERONS, SEAGULLS, DUCKS. WE LOVED IT.

Boothbay Getaway

The location of the house was perfect. The view was fantastic. It is close to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, which we enjoyed visiting. The layout and seating was good for us. The house could use some updates. Upon entering there was a musty smell which dissipated after opening some windows. Neither of these things affected the enjoyment of our stay.

Relaxing and Peaceful

We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the birds and lobster fisherman. We found the lobster pot and got lobsters at the pound right up the street! We were close to two amazing hiking parks and a small beach. Bed was super comfortable. Great place to relax.

Great Location

Beautiful location. We had a nice relaxing vacation. If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation, this is the place. Lisa was very accommodating. We arrived early and she let us check in. Close to downtown, grocery store, and restaurants. Would definitely recommend. We are planning our trip for next year.

Beautiful spot!

My mom & I had a great mother/daughter weekend. Weather was spectacular, the view from the house was lovely as was the surrounding area (very quiet & peaceful). We enjoyed trips to the harbor for dinner and made it to opening day of the Maine Tasting Center - so fun!. The only con of the house would be that it lacked bedroom shades. We were both awoken at 4:45am each morning to the bright sunlight which was rough.

Leaf seeker

Two nights at the house. Overall good, just needs a little extra cleaning. Carpets and couch/chairs. Was not use to having to wash and fold sheets and towels. Ran us a little late with our plans for that day.

Nice location

This home is in a nice location and we enjoyed the views from the living room and deck. The house was also very clean. Unfortunately I was so overwhelmed by the intense air freshener smells and musty odor that I had difficulty sleeping the first night. I had to air the house out a bit. The musty odor was coming from the first level but could be smelled on the second as well. It’s the only issue I had with the place but unless it was resolved I wouldn’t consider returning.

Wonderful stay and fantastic view!

First, let me say that this is not a fancy place, but it is wonderful!! The house was immaculately clean, the kitchen was well stocked with all that you need, and the whole place was homey and comfortable. The view of the tides going in and out every day was amazing. We sat on the deck for hours watching the water and the wildlife. It was so lovely and peaceful. There's much to do from exploring the town 8 minutes away, to eating the freshest lobster ever, and sunset sailing on a schooner. Don't miss Acadia National Park! It's beyond worth the 2.5 hour drive! Owner was helpful and nice. We would DEFINITELY stay here again, highly recommend!!

Great House and Location!

The house was perfect, it had everything we needed. Every appliance, dish, kitchen gadget you could need. Great showers, plenty of hot water with great water pressure and heat (yes, we used the heat :-)) Cozy living room with plenty of seating and views to the water on the deck though big sliding doors, just lovely. Communication with Lisa was excellent. Location was peaceful, quiet and 3 min from Boothbay Harbor.. Back deck overlooking was water was our favorite spot. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us Lisa!

Perfect weekend getaway!

This is the perfect place for a quiet weekend away! The deck is like something out of a movie and we spent hours just looking at the water and watching the birds … especially the osprey nest in the inlet! So convenient to run out to Hannaford or into town for relaxing meals or walking around the TOTALLY charming shops. We couldn’t stop talking about how perfect it was. Thank you Lisa for making our weekend so lovely! ❤️

Quiet place

We had a good stay. The ping pong table was great entertainment. The kitchen was good with all the equipment you would need. Two out of 4 burners worked on the stove so cooking takes planning. The view is of the bay and rocks. It is nice to see the tide move in and out. You are required to sort, recycle, and dump your trash.

A lovely location!

We had a great time staying at the property, and the location is absolutely perfect! There were a few hiccups in terms of cleanliness (stained sheets, some dead bugs on the quilts) and some amenities (burner on the stove not working, trouble with the toilet in the primary bedroom having a very weak flush), but overall the stay was great. Check in process and communication with the owner were easy! Important to note that guests need to wash and dry sheets and towels before leaving and take trash to the dump. It wasn’t an issue for our short stay, but would be a headache if you were trying to get on the road early to beat traffic or if you had a big group.

Peaceful spot, great location

Very pleasant and homey, located close to the tidal river with a nice open deck overlooking the water. Super close to the botanical gardens. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Master bed was a very comfy queen. Bed in other rooms were twins. Great views of the water from most rooms. Kitchen was rustic but clean and conveniently stocked with condiments etc. The house was in a little cul de sac just off the road but well insulated and quiet. The owner was helpful and gave us information before our stay to help us plan our trip. We highly recommend porter preserve for exploring along the water and getting a real feel for the coast. Thanks for the great visit!

Great water views in a quiet location

Our family of 5 spent four days at Heron Cove in July, 2017. The house is comfortable and definitely has room for everyone to spread out. The views from the deck are wonderful, especially with the osprey nest right across the way. Chicks in the nest, parents busy feeding them, what a show! This was our first time in the Boothbay Harbor area, and we loved it. The botanical garden right down the road is amazing, we did a couple of the hikes in the Boothbay Regional Land Trust, spent a couple of afternoons walking around Boothbay Harbor, watched the Fourth of July fireworks from the Oceanarium lawn, and took the Hardy Boat Tour from New Harbor to view puffins. The bathroom renovation looks great and the bedrooms are comfortable. My kids enjoyed playing ping pong in the basement, which has a bit of a musty smell. Wish some of the bushes in the front were cut back so we had a better view of the water, and access to the water (a simple dock) would be great. I know the river is tidal, so that presents challenges.

Had a wonderful stay

Lisa was wonderful to work with and the reservation and check in process was stress free. The online description and photos are accurate. We really liked the layout of the home and the views were beautiful. Large sliding glass doors in the living room and two of the bedrooms take full advantage of that view and are one of the home's best assets. The only suggestion we have for the home is perhaps an air purifier for the game room downstairs to eliminate the musty odor (although our kids did not seem to mind). The kitchen has a brand new ceramic top stove and what looks like a newer fridge and microwave. The dishwasher has a sanitary-cycle option that we used. There is a park just a few minutes walk away that has a footbridge out to a small island that is perfect for walking the dog or just taking in the scenery. Boothbay Harbor is only a few minutes away and has many shops and restaurants. We recommend Mama D's for breakfast and the Footbridge Brewery for craft beers and a fun atmosphere. If you don't mind driving an hour to Owls Head, there is an impressive Transportation Museum with antique cars, motorcycles and aircraft. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay!

Everything you needed!

We loved the property that was on the water . It had a spacious yard which was perfect for catching a frisbee . We loved the back porch and eat meals out there often . My teens loved the ping pong table down in the basement. This home was very spacious and had two bathrooms. I was able to bake cookies as the kitchen had everything that was needed . Each room had fans which was great on hot nights although the cool breezes from the water kept us cool at nights. The washer and dryer was great to have as well. This home had everything that you could possibly need . There was only one item that may turn potential renters off to this place and that is the white rug . It has several bad stains on it that resembled pet stains . They were all over the rug . This is why I gave only 3 stars on the cleanliness. However , the other areas - kitchen , bathrooms , bedrooms were clean . I would stay here again but really feel that the rug needs to be addressed.

Wonderful weekend at Heron Cove

I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a charming getaway in costal Maine! The pictures really don’t do it justice. We woke up ear morning to drink coffee on the porch overlooking the ocean and ended our nights on the same porch watching the sunset with wine. It’s a short drive (10 minutes or so) to Boothbay harbor, less then 5 minutes to the Botanical Gardens, and 5 to 10 Minutes to gorgeous walking/hiking trails that bring you right out to breathtaking views of the ocean. But the house itself has such a beautiful view, and so much space, that we ended up staying on the property more than we had planned! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need- if you’re looking for anything specific Lisa was very accommodating and was very quick to respond to questions and emails! There are 3 bedrooms- the master suite has a large bed, 2 closets, and bathroom and a laundry/mud room, and doors that lead out to the view of the cove and the porch. The 2 other rooms have 2 twin size beds, closets and dressers. This place seriously exceeded our expectations 10 times over and if I ever stay in Boothbay again, this will be the first house I try to book! * it is not very close to a sandy beach- although there are swimming spots and a rocky ‘beach’ you can go to. The closest beach is about 30-40 minute drive away.
