Perfect retreat from the heat.

We were a group of 6 traveling from Atlanta during the week we normally go to the beach. Decided on a mountain trip and hoped to beat a little of the July heat. The river was the perfect spot. Multiple floats down the Toccoa and evenings in the 70s made for 5 great days. Will definitely put this one on the list.

Beautiful home on the river

Had a great time. Kitchen is well stocked with snacks, coffee and tea. Home is clean and would work well for a family. Only downside we could think of is that the two chairs in the living room are uncomfortable. Be sure to bring your AWD or FWD, the drive to the home from the road is short but a bit steep. We had no problems finding it though.

It was really nice and I would stay again. The porch is super cozy and nice. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! The property manager is very communicative and nice. Getting to downtown is fairly quick and easy. You will be most comfortable if you have four wheel drive. We took a Subaru Outback and a Volkswagen Passat and we managed just fine. Walmart says they deliver but we tried twice and they wouldn’t bring it all the way. I guess they got spooked. Plenty of bath supplies were provided. We lost power one night but it came back on in a few hours. We lost internet for a couple hours a few nights later. I think this is normal for the area so don’t panic if it happens. The beds could use updating and the kitchen is missing a spatula and a working can opener. Also, the loft bathroom feels really out in the open so don’t count on privacy there. Use the bottom floor bathroom for that. I should also mention that if guests are on the older side or disabled in any way, this might not be a great choice as there are very steep areas with slipping hazards.

Overall a great place that my family really enjoyed. Amazing river views. We specifically enjoyed the screened porch and hot tub. Those were awesome. House was very clean. We would definitely stay there again. If there is anything that may can be improved upon - one is the water pressure. It wasn’t great at times. Also, there isn’t much you guys can do about it, but the driveway can be a bit difficult to navigate. But again - I would highly recommend this place. Host was very responsive to my questions. A great overall experience. This was our first time to Blue Ridge, but won’t be our last.
