We all arrived the first evening and enjoyed the sunset and lovely views from the property. We spent alot of time by the bonfire each night and several of us enjoyed exploring the trails throughout the following day. The trails lead to additional elevated views of the surrounding mountains. We used the kitchen and dining areas for several group meals and made use of the propane grill. There was also a group trip to the nearby World’s End State Park. Overall everyone had an excellent time. Thank you!

Great place

We had a wonderful stay! The home was beautiful and very unique, and it felt very private. We didn’t have a chance to fully explore the property, but would absolutely stay again!

Wonderful Home & Property

What an absolute amazing beautiful home and property!! The house is so tastefully done, the property is beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for a better VRBO!!! The owner Annemarie was wonderful and great with all communication!! The dogs had a great time and one loved to swim in the pond. Would rent this home again!

We were looking for a vacation to unplug and recharge and this was it! The house was built in 1898. We were there in July not too hot! The views were incredible and the kitchen appliances were top notch! My husband and I would definitely come back to this property maybe in the fall. Only thing to keep in mind is if you are unsteady on your feet, be carful. My mother in law, 84 didn't venture out on the grounds too much because it is a little bumpy. If you are going in the summer bring a box fan to help circulate the air. There is air conditioning, a unit in the dining room and one in the 2nd floor hallway. We were completely comfortable for the whole week. I would like to know the history of the house since it is so old. The card table came in very handy, we play a lot of card games as a family. The grill was clean and ready to go! The property owner was super nice and very attentive to any of our questions. If you are looking to unplug and get back to nature, rest and relax, this is the spot for you!

Picturesque and Peaceful

Quiet, country setting. Lots of wild life, great vistas. Clean as a whistle. Well appointed. Lots of evidence of the property history and pride of ownership. Would stay again if in the area.

off the beaten path

We wanted quiet, we got quiet. Great remodeled farmhouse. Seemed to something for everyone, hiking and biking trails, gazebo where my wife went to read, pond where the dogs lived most of the time, beautiful firepit where we went for hotdogs hamburgers and smores and a great porch where everyone sat to relax.

Fun Getaway

Stayed here with our adult children and their spouses for a long weekend and had a lovely time. Wonderful natural surroundings and privacy. We really enjoyed the front porch, firepit, and pond. Also hiked a really nice trail at Ricketts Glen State Park. House has authentic vintage charm and comfy furnishings. Kitchen is roomy with all modern appliances. Bedrooms are compact. Host was very accommodating and quick to respond to any inquiries.

Tucked Away Farmhouse

Our family recently rented this beautiful house in the mountains of PA. The 4 bedroom house was spotless and equipped with all the necessities for a wonderful weekend. The grounds were cleared with several hiking trails and a serene pond above the house with a picnic table, chairs and a dock. A fire pit was across the drive with a beautiful view of the mountains. A perfect mountain spot for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Perfect rustic birding locale

I was looking for a perfect isolated location. This was it! Birds EVERYWHERE, especially in the blooming rhododendron and spring blooming trees. The house was a great blend of rustic farmhouse and modern conveniences. Beds were conforable, plenty of hot water, and the bedrooms were full sized beds in country farmhouse splendor. Worked perfectly for me and my friend!

Peaceful

We enjoyed our stay at Big Horn, even in 90+ degree weather! The house was charming, comfortable, and well provisioned. Comfortable beds. Good water pressure for showers. Back up generator wasn’t needed, but was nice to know about since we briefly lost power in a storm - it kicked on right away! Lots of fans for the heat & the upstairs air conditioner helped ensure comfortable sleeping temperatures. It’s a special place. Lots of birds and aquatic life, a few deer, and a brief visit by a bear!

Nice quiet property

Quiet, secluded property on 100 acres. Nice old farmhouse, well stocked with all the supplies you’ll need for your stay. The only thing that bothered us just a little - a bit difficult to get up to the house from where we parked by the barn - it’s close but it’s uneven and uphill & if it is rainy, your shoes get really wet walking through the grass to the house- a pathway would be nice. There’s a cute little deck on the back of the house that gives you a good view up the hill towards the pond - we saw quite a few deer & turkeys in the back - it would be great to expand that deck & make a door from the bedroom to get out on the deck without having to walk around back & climb up the stairs
