We had a wonderful stay at the Southern Star! It was very easy to find, and everything was clean and well cared for when we arrived. Our favorite part was definitely the screened-in porch—it was so relaxing with the TV and the bed swing, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.The location was great too. It was just a short drive to DeSoto Falls and the Wildflower Cafe, and only about 15 minutes from everything else we wanted to do in Fort Payne. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay in Mentone! The home was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The peaceful setting made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the mountain scenery. Everything we needed was provided, and the host was responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Check in was easy and the host was just a text away at any given moment, but thankfully because we didn't have any issues, it wasn't needed. The cabin was just as listed (though we did not test the hot tub), the A/C was wonderful inside and the bedding soft and comfortable, though the mattress is a bit firm. Sitting outside with a cup of coffee watching deer go by is absolutely worth waking up a bit stiff.

Loved the little cabin feel with the hot tub was very relaxing and cozy. Mentone was a very quaint and quiet little town. The waterfall at Desoto State Park was beautiful.

The cabin was a perfect getaway! Close enough to the shops and restaurants of Mentone to be convenient, far enough away to disconnect from it all. The nearby state park was great for a long nature walk.

I loved the screened in porch space and proximity to DeSoto falls. I was just 5 min drive to trailhead. Owner was also a good commicator. Great way to enjoy long weekend over spring break.
