This location was even better than what we expected. I can’t speak highly enough of it. The hosts were amazing, the location and all the amenities were amazing. We would absolutely stay here again!

We had a great time at the lakehouse. The house was very clean and the host was extremely helpful and responsive. The large kitchen was great for cooking and gathering and the lake provided a nice relaxed atmosphere. Sunsets were awesome! I would definitely recommend this house if you're looking for a spot close to Portland but are looking for a calmer home base to stay at.

The house and property was the perfect setting for our family and friends to gather. The lake is quiet and shallow, which was great for our pup who learned to swim! The house has three levels, so there is plenty of space so it is well-suited for a crowd. The location is less than 30 minutes from Portland, which was very convenient. The hosts were excellent and responded immediately to all questions. Check-in was seamless and early, which was really nice so we got to spend more time enjoying the lake. Highly recommend this property and hope to return.

Great location -- awesome kitchen area, fun hot tub, and the nugget ice maker was a lovely added bonus. Our hosts were always responsive and wonderful. We'd love to come back to stay here again!

The house what great for our needs however the owners were AMAZING - maybe the best experience I have ever had! There were no issues, but they offered an early checkin, and were super accommodating to us as we wanted to leave earlier than planned due to the blizzard. Kind, communicative, just awesome!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

So peaceful and quiet

We had such a great stay! The home is beautiful, well stocked and comfortable. We loved the location on the lake, we heard loons every morning and used the kayaks all but one day. The hosts were very responsive to questions we had. Lots for kids to do and the back deck is large enough for family meals!

Wonderful vacation super relaxing!

We stayed for a week Here at the A wonderful stay with our family and friends. It was super relaxing, very easy-going and the people who own it are amazing.! They are beyond communicative and they have everything you would possibly need! A+ cook great meals

Great Maine stay

This is an amazing house for a getaway! It has everything you could want, beautiful views and the hot tube is icing on the cake. Plus you’re only about 20 minutes from Portland. Tamissa was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Family Fall getaway

Amazing property. Lakeside view and quiet neighborhood, except for a few loons! Beautiful and comfortably appointed for a weekend away. Hot tub was a big hit and nights by the fires were just what we needed at the end of each day.

Birthday Weekend Getaway

The house was very nice and well equipped. Very clean other than the hot tub was a little dirty. We all enjoyed our stay and there was plenty of room for our group.

Perfect Lakeside Getaway

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at The Lake House for my wife’s birthday. The house had plenty of space for all of us and plenty of amenities too. Perfectly close to Portland while still a little secluded. Big thumbs up to the lake access and the hot tub. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

This property is actually our first vacation rental, aside from this we mainly focus on long term rental properties. However, it has been a dream to provide a lakefront home, that MANY different families get the opportunity to make memories in. This property has an expansive yard, with private frontage including a sandy area for kiddos to play wading into the water. There is a private dock with solar lights, as well as a private boat slip.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Highland lake is one of the very few lakes to almost always guarantee ice fishing every year. Even mild winters, the lake is typically always guaranteed to freeze. In the summer this lake is extremely boater friendly, without being overly crowded. It is the perfect mix of summer fun, while remaining peaceful. The fireworks every summer are out of this world, the best to be seen. The best benefit to this unique property is that even though it is tucked away, it is under 8 miles to all of North Windham's amenities.
