Nice place we enjoyed nice house with a pretty nice view. The only problem we got was the power when out 2 days from 8am until 5pm but we spend the day out anyway so were no a big deal for us .To use the washer and dryer you have to rent a less 5 days other than that you have to pay separate each day. We are thinking in go back again we loved. Private beach free kayak etc.

Great!

The house was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 4 teenagers with beds to spare. Great view from the deck, and a very quiet neighborhood. El Gigante was a short drive and is the kind of non touristy village we were looking for. Loved it.

This place is pure magic!

This was our fourth stay at this spectacular property. The home accommodated our group of ten people, perfectly. The restaurant and beach are a short walk away but it's nice to return to the privacy that this home offers. The views, location and ambiance simply cannot be beat. The booking and contact with the owner and local manager were seamless. The security of the community is also top notch. I can confidently recommend this property to you without hesitation! Thank you to the Glastris family for another wonderful experience.

Dream location

Very thankful to the Lord for helping us find this hidden gem. We enjoyed every minute in the home. The only afvise would be updates. Shower heads not working properly, lighting around the home. Very dark and some fixtures are not working properly. We are really thankful for mr. Daniel ( pool maintenance) he went far and beyond to make out stay pleasant. He showed us around and was always ready to help with amything. May the Lord Bless this home and the family. Lord willing we will be back soon... thank you

Comfortable house and outstanding customer service!

The house is in good shape and all the staff made our stay felt so easy. There were a few things that could probably use fixing, for example, the lighting in some of the rooms was too dim, the oven doesn’t work (they offered to replace it, but we decided not to deal with that for the moment. I still think they should replace the oven regardless for future customers), some hammocks and chairs were broken (I’d just get rid of those), and finally some knifes were just not sharp. I’d give it a 5 if it were not for these hiccups. The staff did everything they could to make us feel comfortable! Danilo, Orestes, Grace, Allison, Juan, you guys are the real MVPs!

week in July

We rented this property as a group of adult friends. The house is in a beautiful location - quite remote. We drove ourselves form the airport and were very happy to have the car. The house is in a complex affiliated with a gorgeous romantic resort and we had access to the beach there. Gigante beach is very close by - having a car to drive to these made all the difference. We did get some of our own food at the grocery store (45 minute drive away) and also used the cooking and cleaning staff on some days. They were so sweet and helpful and we enjoyed having them around. The local towns are relatively simple, so it was also our pleasure to tip these employees and we also left some clothes and shoes for their families. We also used our car to enjoy some of Nicaragua's other sites - Granada and Mombacho. Although navigating isnt the easiest thing we did find this saves alot of money. Organizing activities through the hotel is crazy overpriced. As an example surfing is $60 / hour pp form the hotel but if you drive over to the same place it is only $30. The drive is about 8 minutes. The pool and view are perfect for sunsets. We were concerned about going during rainy season but were pleasantly surprised to have great weather, nearly the entire time. Two smalll issues which we did not let damper our trip. When it rains the steep walkway down to the house is pretty slippery and dangerous (for older travelers or young children this could be an issue). There was no air conditioning in the main living areas - Nicaragua is hot and humid and it was hard to leave enough screened windows open to get a breeze. Once the sun goes down, doors had to be closed due to the bugs. These tiny things are encountered on nearly every vacation. You definitely experience isolated paradise. It was a wonderful vacation.

Would not recommend

House is in need of upgrades, very dirty. It seems like the people that take care of the house are not doing their job. The house needs a lot of repairs. Would never rent this property again nor I would never recommend anyone to stay there. Not satisfied at all. If the owners of this property see this feedback feel free to call me I can give you more details and pictures I took. Property manager sucks.

a Magical Treehouse beach adventure

Fantastic memories created for a BFF holiday with 3 families, 2 flew all the way from Canada! We loved our adventures on the various beaches in the Tola area, especially the tranquil Redonda Bay just a short walk of about 1km with beach bar and 2X1 happy hour drinks from 4-6pm. Some of our group did surfing lessons on Popoyo, others loved long beach walks on Giganta, Amarillo, Iguana, Colorado and Perro. Everyone loved the INCREDIBLE sunsets everynight no matter which beach. Mag Rock cafe also offered fantabulous views. As far as the property: Pros- -space was great with 2 balconies. -Dorm bedroom with 3 beds and trundles fit our needs well since we had 8 "kids" aged 18-25 between the 3 families. -ACs in all bedrooms worked well . The casita one broke after the first day and Grace the property manager got that fixed with the NEW UNIT the same day (she is fantastic and responsive) -infinity pool amongst the trees was a nice respite from heat and sun -6 hammocks so lots could have their quiet time -lots of paper products and cleaning fluids provided -plenty of towels and beach/pool towels -good quality furniture and mattresses -pool cleaned every morning -great rocking chairs and chaise lounges -3 sets of new snorkels and masks -2 coolers CONS -the house is starting to show age and wear and tear with the heat/humidity taking its toll on some aspects of the building (inside and out) It could use painting in places and the wood floors needed a MAJOR cleaning (they were filthy and in literally 3 mins ALL of us had black grimy feet so we got the cleaner in our first morning to do floors ) - only 1 laundry machine for 14 people meant that sheets were not all done for our arrival and beds not made (and we arrived to a load in the washing machine, a load of damp sheets waiting for the dryer and a load still needing another hour in the dryer -some of the kitchen cooking items are now showing age and needing to be replaced (especially the clear acrylic wine glasses) additional food notes: -We had one typical Nica lunch and dinner prepared and it was tonnes of food which lasted 2 days! -We went to Aqua Resort for New Years Eve and felt totally ripped off. They lost our reservation and scrambled to get us a table for 14 and food. We should have just gone to Blue Sol in Gigante as the food there was great and it was 1/3 the price. Overall we all REALLY enjoyed our time at the Magical Treehouse!

Always an incredible stay!

If you are considering this property for your next vacation, I recommend it whole heartedly! We have stayed here for many years in a row and the house only gets better. It's very private, yet walking distance to the restaurant and beach at Aqua Wellness Resort. The pool is always the perfect temperature and the monkeys even came to visit us in the trees this time! The house manager and staff are very responsive and always available to help you with anything you need. Thank you again for another wonderful visit!

Beautiful Home and Wonderful Experience

This was a great home, perhaps the nicest home of all the places we have stayed in Nicaragua. The staff was great and very helpful. The house had lots of space, the kids room was a huge plus. Each room had its own bathroom which was a nice amenity. The pool was very nice and well kept! The kitchen was great and fully stocked with the needed pots and pans. Also the cost included everything, there was no hidden electrical fees and purified water was include. There was also a breeze 24 hours a day so opening up the house was awesome. The house had amazing views but the time of year (January) we were there you actually could not see the sun setting because of the amazing cliffs, one trade for another but worth mentioning. Also the beach is more than i would consider a "short walk". There and back is over half a mile according to the health app on our phones on a pretty steep path. The house sits on a cliff and you must get to the beach at sea level so it makes sense and the walk is beautiful but not our definition of short so just be prepared, if you forget something most wouldn't just run back to grab it. The house sits on Redonda Bay which has a resort on site so there is access to food, kayak and paddle boards. This means there are more tourists / gringos... which means many speak English and you have the amenities which come with tourism available... if however you are like us an often travel more local, like to walk to local puleperrias and local towns that is not really an option here. The beach and bay was amazing, totally different at high tide and low tide. The bay has a significant number of rocks and was at time crystal clear great for exploring and snorkling. At high tide the waves were perfect for the kids to play in. There were rocks of to the north where you could climb and explore and catch crabs and stack rocks. Early one morning while we were there I was on the main deck of the house with my coffee and bible when a rain storm moved through and as it did the rising sun created a beautiful rainbow right into the bay! All in all it is a great place unique in its own way! Great to see that portion of Nicaragua for the first time!

Amazing Place!

This is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The house was beautiful and very accommodating. The only note I would make is that the walk down to the house is a bit steep and the railings are wide open underneath and not too safe for little kids. The snorkeling around the bay is really cool too. We saw lots of colorful fish, urchins, and rays.

Beautiful place

This review is actually for 2014 but never got around to writing it. My family of 14 went to this house for a couple of days and had a blast. One one bothered us and it was unbelievable views and a comfortable house. The pricing was what were looking for. We are from the US but have family in Nicaragua and both side of my family loved this small escape we had. I recommend it for anyone that wants peace and quit along with family time.

A Great Choice

I'm only putting 4 stars due to a mix up with the cleaning schedule between bookings. The renters who used this place before our group arrived left used towels everywhere, crumbs on the counter and table, a half-eaten burger in the microwave and old food in the fridge. It was not the welcome we'd expected, especially after the three hour drive from Managua. That being said, the cleaning crew did arrive, but only re-made the beds without changing the sheets. Once the place was in order, the 8 of us had a great time! The rental is off the beaten path, but no more than 5 minutes drive to El Gigante and within a reasonable driving distance to other sights. My favorite part of the trip was relaxing in the pool and watching the sunset over the ocean.

We loved this house last year and loved it even more this year!

Another great stay for me and a group of friends. Bill was great to deal with beforehand. Sandra cooked us amazing Nicaraguan meals. The pool was refreshing but warm. Stayed on the porch from sunrise to sunset. Won't repeat what I've said before or what others have said. We'll be back next year!

Perfect Family Reunion!

You know when vacation feels like vacation ... Then you instantly know you made right choice!! We couldn't have picked a better place to spend time with family and have a family reunion. The time spent in this home was spectacular. The views were amazing and breathtaking. The pool, the hammocks, the house were all sssssooo perfect! Originally it was only going to be 11 of us but we ended up taking 15 people. The more the merrier! And the best thing is that this house is so perfectly arranged that it didn't feel that all 15 of us were there. Bill was very quick to respond to my emails. We didn't get to meet Grace or Sergio during our stay but the security guards on the property answered all our questions and were beyond friendly. We stayed up past midnight all the nights and we would see the guard constantly walking around and checking. The kitchen is fully equipped. We were not missing anything. The supermarket as well as quite a few restaurants are about a 5 min drive away. Great food in the beachside restaurants. You are also a short walk/hike (for those of us out of shape!) to Aqua Wellness resort. The restaurant there was amazing! They even deliver up to the house! There are also plenty of activities to do both at the resort and in town. The secluded beach was very beautiful. We had some choppy water and could not enjoy it to its fullest but our kids were more than happy to jump back in the pool! The house was very very clean! The TV in the living room area is a Smart TV and the kids enjoyed Netflix while the adults enjoyed the balcony with some drinks. The top balcony was perfect to catch some sun, do some reading and provide an even better view of Bahia Gigante! The ocean sounds were so relaxing all day and all night! We are definitely going back next year!
