Modern Scandinavian 2BR post-and-beam home near Acadia National Park

Come and relax in our Scandinavian inspired post and beam house. You will have the entire house to yourself. The house is ideally located by Route 1 in Hancock between Acadia National Park and Schoodic Peninsula, while only 10 minutes to Ellsworth for shopping and many restaurants.

The space
Our newly renovated and spacious 2-bedroom house is ready for your Maine vacation. There are two levels to the house with the two bedrooms located upstairs along with a full bathroom (shower). One bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen and a full-sized bed. Both bedrooms have a 32" Smart Amazon Fire TV and window Air conditioner. The 1st floor also has a full bathroom (shower & separate soaking tub), a full kitchen, a dining area with a spacious dinner table with 6 chairs, and a TV area with a 65” smart Amazon Fire TV (login to your own favorite streaming service or enjoy the included Netflix and Amazon Prime subscription). There is also a small room with an office area if you need to do a little work or check in with friends at home. Enjoy FREE WIFI and high-speed internet during your stay. There is a large backyard where you can relax and play games on the lawn. The separate garage building is not for guest use. Maximum number of guests including children is 5. No pets or smoking allowed.

The area
Located close to Acadia National Park (25 minute drive) and Schoodic Peninsula (also, 25 minute drive) where numerous hiking and nature experiences await you. There are many local hikes and nature areas near the rental. A few will be detailed in the guest book when you check in. Ellsworth (10 min drive) is a good place for shopping (LL Bean, Cadillac Mountain Sports, Reny's and lots of downtown boutiques etc.), buying groceries (Hannaford and Shaws) and numerous restaurants. Also, in Ellsworth you will find big box stores such as Walmart and Home Depot. There are a few really great restaurants near the rental including Chipper's Restaurant (3 minute drive), Ironbound Restaurant (5 minute drive), and Ruth & Wimpy’s (1 minute drive). Bar Harbor, with a lot of touristy shops and the base for whale watching tours and nature cruises, is a 25 minute drive from the rental house.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, comfortable property. It was a great home base for all of our Acadia adventures and had many stores/restaurants within a short drive as well. Everything we needed to enjoy our breakfast and a few dinners in was provided and a nice bonus was the office which I used for a work day. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property! We would definitely book again next time we visit.

The property was clean, comfortable and as advertised with all of the amenities we could ask for. Binder was very helpful with local details on restaurants and things to do. Great base for exploring Acadia National Park. Ellsworth is close and also has a lot of good places to eat and things to see. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We truly enjoyed our stay! The hosts were lovely and helpful. The home was immaculate. Beds and bedding were comfortable. There were an abundance of small convenient touches throughout the home. We felt the location was perfect to enjoy several locations within Acadia National Park. If and when we are back in the area, we would definitely stay again.

This home is beautiful with a great location to Bar Harbor, dining, gas stations, Walmart, Home Depot and anything else you would need. The home is updated, clean, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms (2) with a soaker tub in one. The kitchen had everything you would need. Host had excellent communication and left us bags (you have to pay for bags at stores) and chocolates. There are two rooms with one that had two queen/full beds, each room had Tv's, air conditioning, and USB plugs in the lamps. Do not hesitate to stay here it is prime location and beautiful home.

This was the perfect spot for our visit to Acadia. The hosts were readily accessible, very communicable and helpful with reccomendations for spots to visit. This home was perfect for us. This home was perfecr for us.

Perfectly appointed pristine cabin

The house had everything we needed and was tasteful, bright and clean. Comfortable beds, great kitchen and bathrooms and a prefect location for exploring both Acadia and Schoodic Peninsula. Jenn's recommendations were spot on for hikes and restaurants as well.

Perfect for Acadia!

The property is clean, beautifully renovated, and is perfect for visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It's quiet and private, and the hosts were top notch. There were many small touches that made us feel very welcome. I would definitely return!

Great for vacation of Maine

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. Only 30 minutes away is Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park. The host was really friendly and answered all questions quickly. The house was so clean and nice. If I come to Maine again, I would definitely stay there again

Maine visit to Acadia/Bar Harbor area

Cute 2 bedroom/2bath, very clean with comfortable beds and everything you could want for a short stay. Hosts Jenn and Soren were available and responded to every inquiry quickly. The house is nicely renovated and decorated, perfect!

Great accommodations!

We really enjoyed our stay at this eco-friendly and beautifully decorated vacation property while visiting Acadia National Park. It was conveniently located and there were good restaurants and shopping nearby. The home was even nicer than the photos in the listing. We enjoy cooking and it was delightful to prepare meals in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen. We highly recommend this property!

Beautifully decorated home near Acadia

My sister and I loved our stay here in Ellsworth. The owners did a fabulous job of making us feel welcome and excited for our trip. The house is as beautiful as shown in the photos and more - did not disappoint. The kitchen was well-stocked and the TV in the living room was fantastic. My sister enjoyed using the large tub and even used it twice. Thank you for having us.

Modern Scandinavian Home

I spent four nights here with my husband and another couple and we were very impressed with this home! The renevations are absolutely beautiful! Each space was very clean and organized, and the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms were equipped with everything we needed. The location is also wonderful. We went to the walmart right up the road and enjoyed the mini golf course nearby. Communication was very prompt and the owners made sure we arrived safely. We loved the welcome gift as well. We had a wonderful experience, and you will absolutely love your stay here!!!

Charming Scandinavian 2BR post-and-beam home

Beautiful remolded home with rustic barn beams ceilings giving a romantic charm. Modern updates in the bath areas and a large soaking tub to relax in. The kitchen and dining area has new appliances and large table to enjoy meals. The new washer and dryer is a major bonus when traveling. We loved our stay and relaxed on the couch watching TV after visiting near by Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor during the day. Jenn & Soren are were very helpful and communicated with us in a timely manner. We had all the comforts of home and more. We will definitely keep them in mind for future stays!

You won’t regret it

10/10 would stay again! Jenn and Soren have went above and beyond with their property! It’s beautiful. It smells like heavenly wood when you first walk in—cedar, I believe. Great amenities, quiet and cozy—almost wish we could have spent more time there instead of Acadia (which is about a half hour away and pretty easy to navigate to)! Next time, hopefully ;) I can’t talk it up enough—go see for yourself! Erin

Comfortable Retreat

Great property for our vacation to Acadia National Park (Mt Desert and Schoodic Peninsula) about 30-45 min drive to the parks, well equipped (gas range, full size washer/dryer, coffee pot & Keurig pods) and well stocked (laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cooking oil, seasoning). In addition to central A/C, each bedroom had their own AC window unit.The home was very comfortable and exceeded expectations. Communication with Jenn and Soren was easy and promptly answered questions. Would stay again.

Beautiful place; good location

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place late in our search. S&J have done a wonderful job creating a clean, fresh and inviting space to stay, although we weren’t here too much…out exploring Acadia all day! I loved coming home to soak in the deep tub after a strenuous day of hiking/biking. Spacious kitchen that well stocked and lots of “extra touches” like scented bath lotion, laundry detergent supplied and fluffy towels. We liked being equal distance from Schoodic Peninsula and the main part of Acadia. Grocery stores and DT close if you need things. Note: it is close to Rt. 1 (main road) and so you do hear road traffic noise if that kind of thing bothers you.
