Discover the ultimate Caribbean oasis at The Soggy Peso Bed & Cocktail, located on the stunning Isla Mujeres in Mexico! Our sunsets are truly breathtaking, and can be enjoyed from the Penthouse.

This beautiful suite on the top floor of our villa, is a lovely space complete with a fully furnished kitchen and dining room. The king size bed has high end all-cotton sheets and fluffy pillows. The XL bathroom has double sinks, an XL walk-in shower, and a separate WC. Towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. The balcony is the full width of the villa, so there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy and enjoy the view.

In keeping with our Bed & Cocktail theme ( when the bar is open), each room guest will be entitled daily to a free Bloody Mary in the morning and a free Margarita in the afternoon!

Great location, accommodation's were nice. Room was clean. Would stay again. Owners were very nice and check in was a breeze. The view is nice and scenic.

Everything about our stay in the Penthouse unit was amazing. The room exceeded our expectations, the host was absolutely wonderful & we couldn't have been in a better location. The entire Soggy Peso staff were just awesome. And you cannot beat a "bed & cocktail"!

Move Over Bed and Breakfast!

I'll start by saying that I like quirky, but not at the expense of comfortable and this place lacked neither and was perfect for us! Loved our twice daily complimentary cocktails and the sunsets were stunning. The Soggy Peso is closed by 8 PM so no late hour noise, if that is a concern. Only note... *I would not recommend if you have trouble with stairs as the walk up is 34 glorious steps!

This is a beautiful property with plenty of room in a really nice location. We wanted to be mid-island to reduce the need for a golf cart, which are very expensive to rent. It’s a 15 minute walk north from the Soggy Peso to reach the middle of town, and a 15 minute walk south to reach the Chedraui (big grocery store). It was wonderful sitting on the balcony in the evening listening to the music from the bar below as we watched the sun set over the coconut palms. Communication with the owners was very good, and we really enjoyed the “bed and beverage” feature, receiving a free round of drinks each day in the morning and another in the afternoon. We’d definitely stay here again. There are two issues that need to be mentioned. First is that it’s a 34 step climb up to the Penthouse. Perhaps this was mentioned and we just missed it, but it should really be emphasized a little more. It was quite the workout hauling our suitcases up, and we found ourselves trying to plan our days to minimize the number of times we had to make that climb. Second is to be sure to bring shower shoes, because the tile used in the shower is slick as ice when wet, and some extra traction would be very helpful.

The Soggy Peso is legendary on Isla Mujeres. It has been our favorite stop for more than a decade. When this property became available, we got together with friends to make it ours. We made the purchase final in March of 2023, and we could not be more proud to call this our place!

The Soggy Peso is located close to the action, yet quiet and secluded on the bay. We are just down the same street as the ferry terminal, so we are an easy taxi or golf cart ride. Our beach, dock, pool, and palapa bar are perfect for relaxing during your vacation.

The Soggy Peso is a destination on Isla Mujeres. Our Penthouse is quiet and private, but with a bar just steps away. There is no reason to leave! We have a delicious menu and bar tenders ready to serve your favorite beverage. The palapa bar is open Monday - Saturday from 9am to 8pm. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the peace and serenity of this beautiful piece of paradise during your stay.
