Clean, close to town, and tiny

The unit was more like a hotel room. It was clean, located close to downtown, and parking was free and easy. The only problem we encountered is that the room was too small for a couple and a dog.

Weekend getaway

Parking right next to unit which is on the backside of the home! About a 5-10 minute walk to downtown which was perfect!

Nice weekend getaway

Accommodations were exactly as depicted in the write up. Super close to town very convenient if you walk or drive would recommend a weekend getaway

Cozy apartment

Very cozy room...good shower and roomy bathroom. The floors need a good cleaning and a new sponge to use in the kitchen area should be supplied as well as a kitchen towel. The shared laundry area needs upkeep. Quiet and a very hood location.

Great location

Room is nicely equipped, similar to a hotel room but with a little kitchen. Clean and within an easy walk to all the shops and restaurants downtown.

Great location, easy access and parking

Space was a bit smaller than it appeared in the photo, but was nicely renovated. We were out and about most of the time, so we were fine with the space. Bathroom was a good size. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops. Easy check in/out. Designated parking space for unit. Would stay here again!

Great location

Great location. Walking distance to everything. Refrigerator didn’t get cold. Freezer was frozen up but did keep things cold. Room never warmed up. John answered usually pretty quick with questions.

Outstanding location. Great communication

John was incredibly communicative and responsive. The location is perfect for walking all over Portsmouth. It’s in a lovely neighborhood right in the downtown historic area. The accommodations were exactly as described.

Great location but disappointing room

Pros: fabulous location, easy walk to everything, dog friendly, near a dog park, convenient parking Cons: rundown inside, unpleasant odor, smaller than looked online, property description made outdoor area sound nicer than it is, and with the fees, it wasn't a good value

Cute little spot

John’s apartment is small but for people who don’t plan to spend a lot of time in the room, it works out great. The bed is comfortable and the room was clean. It was a fairly basic accommodation but it more than met our needs and I will definitely return. I also appreciated John’s flexibility with communication when a mistake on VRBO’s end made it impossible to access my listing or check-in directions, which John promptly messaged to me.

If you get any claustrophobia don’t book this.

Take a good look at the pictures of this studio room. The angle of the picture makes it look reasonably spacious. It is not. The size of the end tables on either side of the bed are about as big as a postage card. It does have a full kitchen, but the only thing I would make the errors milk and cereal . The light coming in from the windows must’ve been before any Plants and There because the room is very dark It is a good location because you are between the busy tourist street and Strawberry Bank so you could easily walk in and direction. It is neighborhood Street but since the rooms above our rented out, you will hear people walking whenever they come in. Considering that there was a review about a ripped area rug I would have thought that it could have been switched out by the time we came and I would have appreciated more than two hangers. Hotel Tonight. Had Equally priced Accommodations on the night we arrived, but of course I had to have some thing booked ahead. I got no sign in notification from the owner until the day we would be arriving, which made me very nervous ahead of time. If you need something to be in the center of Portsmouth and this might fit the bill for you.

DIRTY SHEETS and Disrespectful property manager

We checked in, noticed some damage to the rug, dropped off our items, put our dog in the crate and left for a scheduled event. We returned after and opened the bed late, only to find sandy sheets with hair on them. We couldn't get the VRBO site to work for communication and had to sleep in dirty sheets. YUCK!!! As we were brushing our teeth that night, a cabinet door on the bathroom vanity (which had been adhered with putty) fell on my husband's foot. We reported the dirty sheets to the property manager, John, the next morning and he offered to have the cleaning service drop off clean sheets at our door the next day. We received the sheets the next day which were stained but we gave up on messaging further hoping to just enjoy our vacation. After the vacation, we messaged John asking for small compensation for having to sleep on dirty sheets the first night. He responded by accusing us of staining sheets (both sets were stained when they were delivered), stealing a blanket (which was neatly folded on their cabinet since we didn't need it and didn't want to get it dirty) and accused us of letting our dog destroy their rug. The rug was damaged when we walked in and we covered it with the dog bed so that the dog wasn't tempted by another dog smell. The dog was either with us or in a dog crate to sleep or when we were gone. There was no further damage caused to the rug. This is the worst customer service we have ever experienced with VRBO. Very disappointing...

Everything you need to enjoy Portsmouth

This stay was comfortable and well-located. It had everything we needed to enjoy a great trip to Portsmouth and the beach. There is a convenient parking spot, comfy bed, and coffee machine. It felt like a hotel room in a great location, and was easy to walk into town and access the beach by car. Check-in was seamless, and we had a great stay.

Great location

The location is great with a short walk to the restaurants and shops at the harbor. The studio is very small and it was difficult to manage our suitcases. It was great they had a Keurig but they only supplied us with a few k cups. I luckily came stocked with my own. They only supplied us with 2 towels for 3 days. We ran out of toilet paper and garbage bag which should be stocked in a place like this. Although I loved the location I don't think I would rent again. It does have off street parking but I felt like i was an afterthought to the owner.
