The Rock House – An 1856 Pella Original
Experience a true piece of Pella history at The Rock House, a charming stone cottage built in 1856 by Dutch homesteaders and thoughtfully restored for modern-day stays.
Located steps from Central College and minutes from downtown Pella, the cottage makes a cozy home base for college visits, weekend getaways and exploring everything Pella has to offer.
Inside, the 750-square-foot home blends original character with comfortable updates. You`ll find warm wood floors, historic details, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and thoughtful touches throughout.
The main-floor bedroom features a king bed, while the upstairs twin loft is a cozy, storybook-like retreat with two twin beds. Please note that the loft is reached by narrow, steep Dutch-style stairs characteristic of historic homes and may not be suitable for guests with mobility concerns.
Outside, enjoy morning coffee or dinner on the patio, then settle into an Adirondack chair around the backyard firepit as the sun goes down.
From here, explore Pella`s Dutch bakeries, shops, restaurants and historic attractions, including the Vermeer Windmill and downtown square. Lake Red Rock is also just a short drive away for hiking, biking, boating and exploring.
