Welcome to our peaceful home with stunning bay views. This family-friendly space has been lovingly cared for and is now open to guests for the first time.

The backyard is quiet, green, and full of life. A 75-year-old Brazilian pepper tree shades a handmade dining table, a koi pond adds a sense of calm, and a wood-fired pizza oven is ready for unforgettable nights. We can even arrange a private chef to cook for you (subject to availability). We've enjoyed yoga mornings, slow family breakfasts, evening book clubs, and plenty of quiet moments here.

Inside, the home is simple, soft, and thoughtfully designed. Blackout curtains, cozy beds, natural textures, and every detail was chosen with care.

If you value comfort, nature, and meaningful spaces, you’ll feel right at home. Butterflies often visit the garden—they always seem to know when they’ve found something special.

We stayed here for a week with two kids and it was perfect. Big lawn for the kids to run around, close to the beach, the park, and food. Communication was easy with the host. We would definitely stay here again.

This home was lovely and Katie was so helpful and sweet. We were coming to town for a memorial, but on the morning of the day we were checking in, we got a call that our son had been in an accident and was in ICU in another state. So part of our group stayed there and after our son made some very quick improvements and was released from the hospital, we were able to join our family at this home.It was so serene and calming after a very hectic and stressful couple days. We would definitely stay here again!Beds were comfortable, extremely safe for someone traveling alone, close to coffee and restaurants and the store.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Katie's home is very well laid out. It was perfect for our family of 2 adults and our 2 young adult "kids" in their 20s. The kitchen is fully stocked and fully equipped, the beds are comfortable, the 2 spacious living rooms are fabulous and well furnished, there's plenty of closet and dresser space, and the outdoor gardens and deck and landscaping are beautiful and inviting. Katie is responsive and helpful and thoughtful. The location is up on a lovely hill and it's quiet and upscale and close to the beaches (0.6 miles to Tourmaline) and to the neighborhoods of San Diego (e.g. Pacific Beach).

This home greatly exceeded our high expectations! We had a family from ages 76 years to 18 years traveling to San Diego during Memorial Day weekend for a college graduation. The property was beautiful with multiple areas for us to relax in the beautiful yard with the sounds of the fountain and views of Mission Bay. The inside was just as lovely and gave us places to comfortable relax between events. The kitchen had everything we needed and the upgraded bathrooms were luxurious while the beds were comfortable. The parking and access to property was easy even on a holiday weekend. The host was extremely communicative throughout the entire experience. My family is asking to stay here again.

The house is in a great location. The view is stunning and the yard provides a lot of privacy. The only issue we had was that the house is a bit dark at night. We could have used more lighting in living areas.

I loved staying at Kate's house up on the hill in this exclusive & private area. Host was lovely and super helpful even after the trip, when I had a late package delivered to her house and she retrieved it for me. The grounds of the property are 10/10 stunning. The neighborhood is amazing. The house has two living areas - nice place to bring kids because they can have their own hangout room and frolick in the yard while the adults can hang in the chic second living area. Even the neighbors were amazing - my daughter and her boyfriend made friends with the older couple across the street and were playing basketball on their private court within a few minutes! Great proximity to Pacific Beach and even La Jolla is very close. Thank you KATE!

We had a wonderful stay at Katie's home! We were actually her first renters, so don't be dismayed by the low reviews. She just started renting her property, and is well on her way to being a super host! She had everything set up for our family, lots a kid stuff and a well equipped house. Lots of items in the kitchen to cook with and she provided nice toiletries, towels and beds were super comfortable. The home is really close to the Kate Session Park, walking distance which is great for kids. But the grounds on the property are so nice, you might not even have to leave! Katie was very attentive and helped us with whatever we needed in the house. We'll definitely stay at her home when we return!

We had the most wonderful stay at this property and can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared. The home is beautifully decorated, with each piece carefully chosen to create a warm, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The spacious patio quickly became a favorite spot—gorgeous, comfortable, and offering incredible views of both the city and ocean. The surrounding garden is equally charming, with multiple seating areas, an outdoor dining table, and even a pizza oven for unforgettable evenings outside.Katie, our host, went above and beyond to make our stay special. Traveling with a 1-year-old and almost 3-year-old can be challenging, but she made it seamless. She stocked the fridge with drinks and goodies, left special gifts for our children, and provided toys—including Magna-Tiles—that kept them entertained. The house is even childproofed, giving us peace of mind and allowing us to truly relax.The location couldn’t be better—centrally located and within walking distance to Kate Sessions Park, a perfect spot for picnics, playtime, and sunsets.On top of it all, Katie was a phenomenal host—kind, flexible, and communicative. She ensured we had everything we needed, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable.This home is truly a gem—family-friendly, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful details that made our stay unforgettable. This property is a jewel. Absolutely beautiful grounds, large and extremely private yard with multiple sitting areas and a gorgeous view of San Diego bay and downtown. The house is spacious and extremely well stocked. Bedrooms are lovely and our linens were soft and super comfortable. Multiple televisions and inside hang out areas. We loved the decor — mid-century modern meets bohemian. Super clean and up to date. Comfortable, stylish and unique furniture. A short drive to multiple beaches, tons of restaurants, and parks. Really, we loved it here and feel grateful to have found this property!

The property is magical!! You feel as though you are in a “Secret Garden.” The grounds are just amazing and comfortable. There is a kids section with a small table, a water table and coloring supplies. There are many seating areas for adults each a bit secluded from the next. The inside of the house is decorated in a truly unique and appealing fashion that just feels so welcoming. The host left bubbles for the toddler and a high chair. There are all kids of toys, games and art supplies for kids. We were all in agreement that it was a 100% perfect place to stay. We would definitely book this home in the future! It far exceeded our expectations!!!

My family and I had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this home! This home was peaceful and relaxing while still being conveniently located near grocery stores, restaurants and everything we needed during our stay. A lovely little oasis! Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. We would happily stay here again on future trips to San Diego.

We remodeled and used to live in this home and now live close and would like guest to be able to experience this special place.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

This neighborhood and possibly our properties used to be part of Kate Sessions nursery. She was an amazing horticulturalist who brought diverse plants to San Diego and transformed the landscape. It feels like you are in nature but close to all of the sites of San Diego you would want to visit. This property is a few blocks from La Jolla zip code but you can still access the freeway without much traffic.

This house has a very welcoming feel. It is charming and updated. Some of the windows are louvred so a fresh air can get in. The heat and A/C still keep the house at your desired temperature. The garden has mature fruit and berry trees that you are welcome to enjoy.
