Owners were very responsive and friendly. Place was very clean and had a great location.

Peaceful Getaway

The owner Carson was great! Very helpful with accommodations from the start to the end of our stay. This is a very peaceful area on the river. Great neighbors as well as great friends of Carsons that we had the pleasure of meeting. The apartment was clean, very accessible and private. We look forward to going again!

Relaxing

It was a great experience,very relaxing. The loft over the garage was very cozy, clean and comfortable. Access in and out the place was not a problem. The host was very nice, very accommodating and ensured we were good. We were able to fish from the deck, the neighbors were very friendly and helpful with seating arrangements and the fish we caught. We were very pleased and would go back.

Talladega Breaktime

Place was great, looked like a postcard. Looking forward to my next trip there. Very relaxing place to cook on the bayou side. Not just for the area but the people around the area are great. Thanks for everything. Sean

The space was exactly as advertised and was an easy drive to the Speedway. The area was pretty. Shower is nice. However, the apartment wasn't super clean (microwave was dirty and there was a ton of dust and a few dead bugs along the walls behind furniture) The bed isn't the best - slats fall off, mattress pad slips off, and there is only a heavy quilt on top. AC works great. There were plenty of towels. We took a card table and two chairs with us so we had a place to eat and play games.

Great place to sleep

Location was ok. Really not much to do unless you have boat. The living quarters was so cute. The only thing I would change is the entry way. You definitely have to give it a hip check to open. The recommendation I have for the owner would be to fix entry door, include a guest book that tells you how to get onto internet,tv connection and check out procedures and some activities in the area. The owner did communicate quickly but without cell service I had to leave premises down the road awhile then I could ask questions about WiFi and places to eat. Awesome recommendations and finally got password for internet. Guest book would fix most issues. Didn’t see anything on what to do for checkout but I just cleaned all dishes , stripped bed, gathered garbage, set temp to 77 and put all dirty towels and linen in bathroom. Hopefully this is what you’re supposed to do. Also the internet is spotty around 6pm. Had issues connecting and staying connected during peak times.

Misrepresentation of property

The post on VRBO is deceiving. They show the riverfront side of the house/apartment, so when you pull up you're not sure if you are at the right place. Upon getting into the apartment, the air wasn't even turned on and it was 79 degrees in the efficiency. We thought we would be able to cook our dinner, but no stove. There was a microwave, but we did not bring food that we had to warm up or tear open a frozen meal. And even if we did bring a frozen meal, there were NO utensils to eat anything with, except 3 plastic knives that you would get at Wendy's. There were no welcome instructions whatsoever or any information on using the WIFI. We decided to go down to the river to sit, but the chairs were so dirty that we had to clean them first just to sit down. A man came out on the porch of the main house, yes you share the same property with owner, and he was talking rather loud. When we approached him I asked if was the host and he said yes. We mentioned that we were disappointed in the arrangements and no way to cook a meal, he said most people go out to eat (which is about an hour drive to town). He did not seem, or try, to come up with a resolution to the situation. He did mention that all we had to do was ask him for utensils and WIFI instructions. After driving 8 hours, why should we have to go find him and ask him for this stuff? We ended up leaving after being there for 1 hour and drive back home, after already driving for 8 hours. Very disappointing experience!

The bulk of this review is patently false. Let's address one at a time: 1. There is nothing "deceiving" in the post. Every word is true and every picture clearly shows the property. 2. It is true that we do not leave the AC running as we are not at the property the majority of the time. It takes about 5 minutes to cool off the 650 SF unit. 3. There is no stove listed in the add. There is no stove shown in the pictures. I'm sorry you assumed there would be one. When you asked me the day before arrival if there was a stove, I advised you there was not. 4. There is a microwave in the listing and shown in the pictures. 5. There were 4 pre-wrapped napkin, fork, spoon, knife packages in the cabinet. I'm sorry you did not see them. I would have gladly guided you to them had you simply messaged me. 6. The wifi password changes often and I would have been happy to provide you the current one had you simply messaged me. 7. There are in fact no chairs on our property. You crossed the driveway and went into the neighbor's yard. 8. I messaged you several days in advance to let you know that my mother and her friends would be in the main house during your stay. You indicated that was fine with you. 9. There are 3 restaurants less than 15 minutes away and 7 more 20 minutes away. Would have been happy to share those details with you if didn't feel like googling. Writing it's "an hour drive to town" which is easy to verify as false rightly casts doubt on all your other statements.
