New Cozy Cabin on the water at Caddo Lake. Enjoy evenings in the screened in porch after a day out fishing or kayaking. Great fishing right on the property at the waters edge! Kayaking or boating right up to the property. Tie off on our new dock just steps from the cabin. Enjoy s'mores at our fire pit with 6 Adirondack chairs, gorgeous view of the water in the Cypress forest, fireflies, beautiful sounds of the forest birds and lots of Hummingbirds. One room/ one bath with full kitchen. Granite counters and interior covered in beautiful wood. Cold AC/warm heater for winter. Flat screen TV and WIFI. Huge covered/ screened in porch with cafe lighting, two tables with 4 chairs each and futon- all to enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Futon in the screened in porch is queen sized if you like to sleep outside. Inside is a luxury Queen bed and a queen sofa sleeper. Sleeps 4 inside with two outside on porch. Two Kayaks, paddles and life jackets included with cabin.

Really nice accommodations

We had a wonderful weekemd stay here. The cabin was so clean and nice, the hist was super responsive with questions and the kayaking was amazing. Even in mid July it was comfortable. We will come again!

Quiet and relaxing

Very much enjoyed our stay!! Caught and released lots of fish and turtles! Enjoyed having our own little spot to fish!! Next time I'll talk the hubby into kayaking!

Perfect Riverside Cabin

Nice little cabin off the big water

Nice convenient place to stay off the main river. Only concern would be getting in there with boat when water level is normal.

Cute cabin in beautiful area.

Cabin was quiet and cozy for a short get away. Hiking in Caddo State Park did not disappoint. This is a beautiful area of the country. Kudos to the host for providing and extremely clean place. Communication was excellent as well! Coming back soon!

Cute cabin close to the bayou

We mostly enjoyed our stay. The property was flooded which was not the owners fault at all. I’m assuming that’s what caused the septic issues. The septic aerobic system sprayed 5/6 times a day and smelled AWFUL and tub, toilet and sinks were all VERY slow to drain. We brought our boat but there is no boat dock like it states in the description. There is a public ramp close by though. It was a bit of a pain to launch and load up each time we wanted to get on the water. This place would not sleep 8 people unless they sleep on the floor. Two people in the queen bed and 2 people on a sleeper sofa anyone else would have to sleep on the porch on the futon or on the floor with no AC or heat. The place was clean and cute inside for our needs We will probably look for somewhere with better boat access for next time. .

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay in the Tackle Box! We loved being near the tributary and a kayak's trip away from the bayou, and loved spending our afternoons reading on the enclosed porch after a day of hiking. Very clean and well appointed kitchen.

Everything was clean and cozy. The cabin was well furnished and only a short drive to a boat ramp. We enjoyed our time there.

The cabin was very comfortable and well-furnished. Plenty of hot water and a good shower. The air conditioner worked particularly well. The location was just what we were looking for—on the banks of a slough that connected to Big Cypress Bayou. We were able to put in right by the cabin, but we weren’t bothered by the boat traffic out on the bayou.

I visited for a few days to get some peace and quiet away from Houston. I brought my 74yr old mother with me because she loves to fish and doesn’t have much opportunity anymore. We both had a wonderful stay. I loved drinking coffee on the screened porch while listening to the birds and frogs and looking at the beautiful waterway. My mother caught over 30 fish including bream, crappie, and catfish. It was everything I had hoped it would be.

Cozy and Quaint

We have stayed at both houses this host has! We have LOVED both! We decided to rent this house due to it being only my husband and I staying this time and it was WONDERFUL!! It’s very cozy, small, and comfortable!! It has access to drive your boat to the house and leave it in the water for the weekend! 10/10 would stay here again and likely will! The host is wonderful and quickly replies to all questions and concerns!!!

Small, quiet, and relaxing cabin get away

We had no problems getting our boats through. Kids fished in kayaks and we could see them and not worry. Its quiet and peaceful. If you are planning on having more than 4 or 5 plan during a season people can sleep on the large enclosed porch. Two of our bunch slept out there and we had no problems. Screen doors lock. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

We enjoyed a quiet night sitting by the water and on the covered porch listening to the crickets, night birds and other critters. We were comfortable and short drive from Caddo State Park and Caddo National Wildlife Refuge and enjoyed a swamp tour with a local captain in Uncertain, Texas. It was an interesting and comfy stay on our roadtrip.

Quiet and Quaint

We had some issue when we first arrived with the wifi and tv but a quick message got that resolved and all we needed to do was reset both devices. Owner was very responsive. Other than that, everything was great. The ac worked well, the enclosed screen porch was great and there were ample supplies for cooking and bathing. We stayed with our toddler and the only thing I would point out, is that the rustic design of this place has rusted metal for decorative beadboard and our toddler had to be kept from rubbing on that and there was a slight musty smell from the rust. It is not a bad smell at all, and a familiar or nostalgic smell to some people. We would stay again. Thanks!

Great cabin!

We stayed for a night with our 2 children. The cabin is fully furnished and have everything we needed. The patio is wonderful, we enjoyed having breakfast and diner there with a view on the bayou. Two canoes were available with the house and that was wonderful! We recommend!!

One of the best weekends.

Our stay in Karnack was amazing! It was clean, easy check in, had things we forgot, cozy, and the screen porch was our absolute favorite! We loved the location close to boat but not crazy with a bunch of people! Cozy and quiet! My kids loved the rain and the screened in porch! The owner was quick to respond to my messages and was very helpful with the booking when my debit card wouldn’t work on the site! Absolutely our new favorite place! Can’t wait to come back!

Clean & Quiet little cabin in the bayou

Cabin and property was very clean and quiet. It was the perfect place for a quiet getaway with the hubby. Host stayed in communication and recommended some local eating spots. Caddo Lake State Park was right down the road and beautiful place to visit.

Wonderful, quiet Valentines Weekend

We rented this out for the Valentine’s weekend and it was perfect for my husband and I! Very cozy one-room cabin had everything we needed for the weekend. We spent most of our time on the HUGE screened in porch listening to the rain! The futon was a great touch, as it was so comfortable, we took an afternoon nap on the porch during the thunderstorm! There are many houses in the neighborhood that we weren’t expecting by the pics. But the neighborhood was exceptionally quiet! I don’t even think we heard a dog bark. I do regret we did not get to use the kayaks because of the weather. Definitely will be booking again and making use of the kayaks next time!
