Prospect Mountain Cabin custom log home sportsman's paradise with fishing lake.

This is the larger and newer of the two cabins available for rent on our Prospect Mountain property that sit on opposite sides of a pond. Truly jaw dropping authentic log home, custom built from reclaimed wood. You would have a hard time finding a cooler cabin anywhere in the state, much less available to rent. As far as authentic log cabins go, this one is up there with the best. Sits on a private fishing lake with two more stocked fishing ponds within walking distance. There is an outdoor grill, indoor and outdoor fireplace, and a covered deck. Direct TV. Heat and air conditioning. A woodworker’s dream. Over ten different kinds of wood were used to make each room unique. Rifle target shooting range access available upon request to property manager. Bring your own fishing rods and tackle. A boat, trolling motor, and a battery are available upon request to access three fishing ponds around the cabin. Fish cleaning facilities are on the property if needed. Custom Kitchen. A great place to cookout and enjoy the outdoors. Near Lewis Smith Lake, Riverside Fly Shop Outfitters, Bankhead National Forest, Rickwood Caverns, Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Hillside Ninety-one wedding venue, Cabin at the Lodge wedding venue, Barn on the Bend wedding venue, Wallace State Community College, and the City of Cullman. This property was wonderful! The host was great and we enjoyed our stay. Our only issue was no WiFi. We work from home and didn’t realize there wouldn’t be internet but this was my fault since I didn’t read the listing closely enough. We managed for a day with hot spots but just something to consider. We’d definitely stay again assuming we didn’t need to work during our stay.

We loved the cabin! Beautiful views. Super bathrooms and appliances all new. Only complaint is that It smelled musty and all the candles were burned down to just the wick. Owners were kind and helpful and even loaned us their personal iron.

The best hidden gem in AL

This place was incredible! Went down with a group of guys for our annual Veteran’s Day weekend getaway and had a fantastic time. The property manager Donald is awesome. He showed us around their beautiful property, allowed us to fish on their multiple lakes, and set us up to shoot on the range. The cabin was super clean and well stocked. Will definitely be coming back!

The most beautiful cabin we have ever stayed in. Check in/out process was simple and laid back. Felt very comfortable the entire duration of our visit. The host and his family were simply wonderful and welcoming. We have traveled often over the years to various places and have never encountered such abundant hospitality. They made us feel right at home on their beautiful property. Very peaceful, relaxing, with absolute breath taking scenery all around. If you love nature, it doesn't get better than this - deer, turkey, birds, turtles, lakes, ...and the fishing isn't too bad either! Husband snagged his personal best during our stay! (9lb 12oz bass). They even offer deer, elk, and turkey hunts on site! We will definitely return as often as we can! Our new FAVORITE getaway! It's a slice of heaven on earth!

Incredible Cabin and Fishing Stay

This stay was everything I wanted out of weekend fishing/camping trip and more. Beautiful property, lots of wildlife and an all around perfect place to casually enjoy the outdoors just north of Birmingham. We only stayed 1 night in one of the cabins but packed in a ton of fishing with a few buddies of mine and caught around 75 fish total. We enjoyed the expansive wrap round porch in the evening and morning with shared meals with the guys. Donald was so great to us and communicated extremely well. Very thankful to have stumbled upon this place and will absolutely be returning to this hidden gem! Would highly recommend this stay!

Alabamas best kept secret

We have stayed in accommodation all over the world and this was the most peaceful place we have ever been. The home is beautiful and spacious. There are 3000 acres of land to explore. Fishing and hunting opportunities. The host even loaned us a 4 wheeler to explore the land. They have a deer breeding program that means you see deer every morning from the kitchen window. Local amenities are close by and easy to access. We will definitely be back and next time will be staying longer. A stay here is good for the soul.

Prospect Mountain Cabin is Stellar

The Host, the Cabin, the secluded surroundings and the many acres of land that we were able to use and explore made our stay Fantastic and Funtastic. The host provided a boat for the lake; there was a pond to fish right outside the cabin; we enjoyed the shooting range that the host helped us use and joined in with us. He even loaned us a 4 wheeler for our use. The Cabin built with old timbers was wonderful and even better than the photos. It had all the space you could want for our extended family and had everything you might need to make your stay just right--we didn't miss a thing. The Deer Breeding Facility on the property made it an even more memorable family event. We didnt want to leave !!
