High on the mountain

The view makes this property special and the wildlife. Hiking right outside the door the surrounding area lacks good restaurants but no problems full kitchen with outdoor grill.

Yes, as indicated in our listing information, Desert Hot Springs is a developing town and not known for its gastronomy. There are however 7-8 decent restaurants and we mentioned those on our “recommendations” list. And Palm Springs, with its countless fabulous restaurant options is only 15-20 minutes away! When you messaged us with a request to book our home, you said you were excited to cook at home and loved the photos of our large, fully stocked kitchen; so we are surprised to learn that you were bothered by the lack of great restaurants in town. We trust that you still had a pleasant (1 month) stay based on your last private communication to us a couple of days before check-out: “Hi winding down a great stay! This is the first day I haven’t gone for a hike, the weather has warmed so the pool and spa feel wonderful. Starting to pack our things. The only complaint is your neighbors parking on each side of the driveway gives me pause when I pull out, small inconvenience overall. Thanks your home was and is a restful place. I greeted the coyote that comes by each day this morning while enjoying the view outside with my morning brew, peace” We are sad those sentiments were not reflected in your public review… Also, we hope you enjoyed all the non-advertised surprises/gifts we left for you in hopes of making your time at Dovesong feel extra special. We trust you made it back home safely and easily. Wishing you & Kathy all the best.

The hosts were very generous, and went out of their way to make us feel right at home!! The amenities were plentiful as they provided all the basics for travel and more including robes and slippers for each family member, which our kids loved! The beds were all comfortable with lots of pillows. The hot tub was enjoyed by all on this cooler trip to California in Dec/Jan. The best part of Dovesong is the magnificent views of the mountains and city-- it is truly a special place. We hope to come back to this desert oasis again! Thank you!!

The perfect getaway

Dovesong is magical. The spectacular views from floor to ceiling windows, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and abundant birds and wildlife truly make this VBRO a treasure. The home has been transformed into a beautiful oasis by loving owners and is literally stocked with everything you could want for a tranquil, relaxing vacation. Magda and Nathan are the ultimate hosts and are always available to help, provide and advise. We plan to be back again and again.
