Loved this cabin! It had everything we needed, clear communication from the homeowner, and was very clean. The deck is great for summer and the location and parking spaces are very convenient. We hope to visit again in the future. Thank you!

Lovely Black Butte retreat

Our family highly enjoyed the cabin and location. The house has everything you might want for a family, and Black Butte was a wonderful place to vacation. We hope to return!

25th Anniversary

We had a great trip for our 25th anniversary. Took in the sites on our bicycles and ate at the Lodge Restaurant. What a beautiful cabin in a beautiful neighborhood!

Great vacation cabin, will book here again

Three of us stayed 8 days in this cozy cabin and loved it. Beds were comfortable, kitchen is good size with most anything we wanted/needed (including roasting pan, cookie sheets, electric griddle and more), and comfy furniture with beautiful views of snowy meadow from huge windows in family/living room. Bonus was a really nice washer and dryer. Location was great, loved being relatively near Glaze Meadow Rec Center.

Ridge Cabin 25

Centrally located. Tasteful decor. Clean. Well equipped. Updated with quality appliances. Expanded deck overlooking trees and small meadow with turkeys parading by! I love this little gem and hope to return

2/10 Terrible

very disappointing

First off, Ive been coming to BBR for the last 35 years and my family has owned 2 homes here. I know the area and accomodations well; therefore, I'm not sure why this place got such great reviews. I will start out by saying the owner was very nice and responsive, nor did we not want or need for anything in terms of kitchenware, etc, but it only goes downhill from here. Everything was crammed and jammed into drawers and cupboards, and it was a struggle just to find anything. The place was TINY (and by tiny I mean that we were stubbing our toes and bumping our heads on something everyday) and the loft (master) had zero privacy. The shower in the master bath was a stall would be perfect if you're 4"9 ;->. We had a family of 5 and felt like we were on top of each other all the time, for the 2 hours each night we weren't playing outside. This place would be perfect for 2 SHORT people. Everything was outdated including the TV, kitchen and furniture which brings me to the fact that the main sofa in the living area was a love seat, and was so uncomfortable we could barely sit on it for longer than 30 mins. There were mosquitoes everywhere due to the location of the house next to Aspen Lake. My young kids even complained about the twin beds being uncomfortable and I've never heard them complain about a bed in my entire life. We followed the check-out instructions to a T, and were still nickel and dimed for not jamming all the sheets into one load in the small stackable washer and dryer. I've had rental properties before, and one thing as an owner I've learned is that I have to be in a certain finacial situation PRIOR to renting out property. I'm not sure the owner has much business renting out this property. Based on the rental charge, we expected a LOT more out of this place. Having said that, we love the Ranch and will continue coming back each summer but won't be renting here.

THIS GUEST DAMAGED BRAND NEW BIKE! NOTICE HE DID NOT MENTION THIS IN HIS REVIEW. I was expecting this type of review, just not 3 months after his departure. All my other reviews will speak to the quality of the home!! I had REI send the guest written proof stating the bike was damaged by him. I spent time with REI to see if they could give him a discount, which they did.I drove over 100 miles to pick up bike so he would not be charged for delivery and at my cost. He was charged for the exact same bike and cheaper than I bought the original. I have the largest capacity LG washer and dryer that you can purchase and was installed this past Spring.Housekeeping said the load of laundry that needed to be done was not. The load of laundry the guest did was my personnel beach towels stored in a closed chest marked "owner only." Guest was trying to wash them before housekeeping got there, to hide the fact they used them. Housekeeping finished the guest share of laundry at a small cost to him and I paid the difference. I do not have a mosquito problem unless maybe you never close the doors? His comment on the kitchen I don't understand. The kitchen is well stocked and if there is anything you need I will have it for you, including spices. Beds are new. The current picture shows all the furniture and appliances and NOTHING is outdated and all furniture is all custom. I replace all furniture constantly, even before it gets old, and keep my homes gorgeous and current. The VIZIO flat screen TV's are less than 3 years old so I guess if you are wanting a large TV that takes an entire wall this is not the home for you. As far as I can say on height of rooms my son is 6'7" and has never hit his head. I have a very large repeat clientele which shows that guest enjoy their stay. The description, and pictures show a loft bedroom upstairs and state the home as 960 sq. I am unclear on his statement of renting homes himself. This is not my only home I rent and have been renting to guests for over 30 years as well as enjoying them myself. I treat all guests as if they are family. I even have other VRBO owners at the Ranch rent my home for, "it is the only one they want in the ranch." THIS GUEST IS UPSET FOR HE LOST MOST OF HIS DEPOSIT DUE TO HIS NEGLIGENCE OF THE NEW BIKE! HE WAS RESPONSIBLE TO REPLACE IT AND IS TAKING IT OUT ON A REVIEW. JUST READ ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS AFTER HIM. I wish he had the same enjoyable stay as all my other guests.

Charming Cabin in the Woods

Our family enjoyed a fun and relaxing holiday week at this charming cabin in the woods right off Aspen Lake. Well-loved, well-stocked, and well-managed! We come to Black Butte Ranch once or twice a year and this has now become our new favorite for when it is just the four of us (parents and 2 kids). Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Quiet Refuge

This property, with its comfortable beds and well-appointed kitchen and deck, was plenty of space for the two of us to relax and enjoy the peacful quiet of nature around us. The central location in BBR was great for heading to tennis or golf at either Big Meadow or Glaze Meadow. I ventured out on several different birding hikes which all started from this home. We also enjoyed our first attempts at disk golf. I would imagine that not many disk courses have Black Butte beauty! Thanks for the care that has been put into this home.

Great cozy cabin with South Meadow view at BBR

Loved our stay at RC 25. Lots of great touches like a welcome bag, and binder with details, plus everything we could need for indoor or outdoor relaxing. Bath and Beds were extremely clean and very comfortable — kitchen was well stocked with cookware, knives, and tableware. Window and deck view of the Meadow was terrific — saw wildlife at the cabin and on our frequent excursions at the incredible Black Butte Ranch. Would definitely return.

Excellent location. Short distance to Sisters, Bend and Prineville. Walking/jogging trail adjacent.

Perfect location for our trip. Excellent owner communication. Wonderful place to sit and chill or get out and move about. Cannot go wrong!

Wonderfully cozy cabin and gorgeous scenery

We had such an amazing week at Janetta’s cozy cabin! We wanted a getaway for spring break and, even though I had to work part time while there, it felt incredible being surrounded by so much peace and beauty. The cabin had everything you could possibly wish for (heated blankets were an awesome surprise!), the welcome goodie bag was such a kind and thoughtful gift. You can tell Janetta is a thoughtful and accommodating host and we appreciated every little detail. We felt so at home and were sad to leave! Really hope we can come back soon.

Charged for cleaning despite following all instructions

Stay was wonderful. Unfortunately after following all cleaning instructions (hauling all garbage and recycling outside the ranch to garbage center, loading dishwasher, running a load of towels and sheets) I was still charged an extra cleaning fee. Owner did not believe that I had done all the cleaning tasks. Asking a renter to haul out all garbage to the outside recycling center is above and beyond what should be expected, but I obliged as I did not want to be charged an extra fee. What made me most upset is that I did everything according to instructions, and the owner still charged me. Owner did not believe that I had done all that was asked, despite communication back and forth. She quoted what her cleaning service reported, which was not true. Would not recommend renting this property.

First I appreciate all reviews so you the guest can find the perfect home for your vacation. I would like all renters that rent my home to read her reply and please follow the check out rules, which she did not. We take cleanliness very seriously, especially with COVID. I have used the same housekeeper for the last 7 years and we never had to charge anyone the extra $50.00, she was the first. My housekeeper had to work overtime to complete the guest responsibilities, plus take all the extra trash that was left in my home to the Black Butte Ranch garbage. She works very hard and needed to be compensated for her extra time. If you have any questions you can read this guests review in our home guest book, which was extremely positive. I take pride in offering a very clean home when you arrive,

Lovely cabin with many thoughtful touches

We had a very nice time in this nicely decorated, comfy cabin to ring in the new year. It has everything you could possibly need. The owner left a welcome gift bag with many thoughtful goodies for us to enjoy. We never did get the downstairs TV to work, but didn't really miss it. We highly recommend this property!

We immediately liked this cabin. It was well furnished and every detail had been thoughtfully taken care of. We had a minor health scare during our short vacation, and Janetta was extremely helpful and considerate. We will go back, definitely.

Fantastic experience!

The place was very well kept, the kitchen was well-stocked, and it was in a great neighborhood. Janetta was a wonderful host and checked in on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. Just do be aware of the daily fee in addition to the price of the place (which would apply for many other units in Black Butte as well). They monitor this by the number of cars going past the gate when you register.
