Thank you for your review. I guess us folks in Columbia SC forget everyone is not familiar with the extreme heat we have here in August! The note is simply a suggestion, so that you don't overwork the unit and have to be without AC while we await a repair. It certainly was your choice and you could've turned it down further if you wanted to. A 4 star review because a host in "Famously Hot" Columbia SC "suggested" you keep the AC from overworking and failing was not fair to me as a host, in my opinion.

Thank you for your review. I would like to address these issues you raised. First of all, in SC our August temps have hovered around 100 degrees! When no one is in the property, we do turn our ac up to 80 degrees, as no one is in the home to need it cooled much lower. We do have a note on the frig ASKING for you to keep it 73 or above in extreme temps. You, of course, did not HAVE to. It was a suggestion, so as not to overwork the unit and you have to be there with NO AC, while we awaited repairs! Secondly, you never asked for extra linens, or we would have certainly left some out for you or brought you some to the property. There ARE tons of blankets, however. Thirdly, most properties I've rented require you to have your own logins to the apps on smart tvs. I did *not* receive a request from you for a password and those are typically your responsibility to sign in under your own account in any rental. I am always extremely responsive to requests, we did not receive one from you. Fourthly, we had no way of knowing the batteries in a remote were corroded unless you let us know. There are 4 remotes in the home, you could've easily downloaded the Roku app and used it OR let us know and we would've gladly brought you batteries immediately. Fifthly, it is stated on the rental that you receive a starter kit of paper products and cleaning supplies, after that, should you need more, you can easily go get them OR ask for them and we would've brought you more TP. It is certainly average toilet paper, especially for a septic tank system, which is easily clogged with thick paper. Sixth, cleaners do overlook items from time to time and our apologies for a dirty plate. Finding a paper clip on the floor is quite a stretch for you to classify us as dirty! In closing, I'll state that when you rent a home from someone, communication WHILE you are in the home is key. Each and every one of these issues would've been resolved immediately if you would have reached out to us. It is evident by my other wonderful reviews that we are responsive hosts and take our little country cottage rental seriously. In the future, please reach out to your host and give them a chance to rectify matters before leaving a nasty review. Thanks!
