Great Location & Home

Our group loved staying at Steve's home! Everything was well stocked and labeled. Three bathrooms was fantastic. Hosts were great at communicating arrival/departure as well. Plus, great location near all the shops and restaurants on El Paseo!

Family gathering

The unit is well appointed and easy to find things including a lot of extra recreational equipment. Our entire family loved the comfort of the home, great location and access to a small more private pool along with the unique large pool. We have booked again for another trip!

Great place

Super trip. Close to everything, including a hot tube. Place had been smoked in prior to our arrival and the hosts were mortified. Offered to cancel and refund. Glad we didn’t, improved while we were there.

Excellent location and layout

We enjoyed our stay at this well appointed and centrally located condo. Two minor considerations (I realize that one is difficult to fix): 1) unit is downstairs of 2 story building which was built many years ago, without a lot of insulation to buffer noise from upstairs neighbors. 2) Maybe consider adding facial tissues to the bathrooms. We would love to stay here again!

I gave this property 3 stars. The unit itself was clean and nicely maintained, but the exterior, pool area and common areas need to be updated. The building appears to be a former motel that was converted into condos, and unfortunately the overall atmosphere still felt more like a motel stay than a true condo experience.

Thank you for the feedback. We’re glad you found the condo itself clean and well maintained. We do want to clarify that the exterior, landscaping, pool, and common areas are maintained by the Shadow Mountain HOA and resort management, not by individual condo owners, so those are unfortunately outside of our control. We also wanted to clarify that Shadow Mountain is not simply a former motel converted into condos. It is a historic Palm Desert resort dating back to the 1940s, with the Shadow Mountain Club opening in 1948. The property has a long history as a resort community and is known for its mid-century character and iconic pool. We understand that the older, historic style may not be everyone's preference, but we take great pride in keeping our individual condo clean, updated, comfortable, and well maintained.
