East Wind is an amazing property for those looking to reset and enjoy the natural surroundings that this property provides. Ron was an impeccable host and he and his family should be proud in what they have at East Wind. We will certainly return one day!

Great, relaxing family trip!

We are so glad you share East Wind with others! We had a wonderful time. Absolutely breathtaking views, we loved how quiet it was. The house was so interesting with all the antiques, but also so cozy and comfortable.

Bald Head Island Treasure

Very difficult to do justice to this house. It is everything you would hope for and more, because its not only the best located house on the island, it is extremely well maintained and the Owners make you feel at home. You will not only enjoy your vacation but also experience and learn a lot about Bald Head Island history. This home and everything in it and surrounding it are a true gem.

Wonderful Stay

East Wind has a great combination of privacy, beautiful views from all sides, and a well maintained house. We ate many of our meals on the covered front porch, with amazing oceanfront views and a constant breeze. We enjoyed sunset views over the marsh and explored the private nature trail. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Best golf carts and bikes that we've had on BHI. Our kids enjoyed having their own space in the basement. Ron is a wonderful host and provided detailed information prior to our arrival. We hope to return again in the future!

Amazing Property and Great owner

We had a truly wonderful week stay on Bald Head Island at East Wind. The house's pristine location and direct connection to the nature preserve make it an "exclusive" stay that we will never forget. Ron's easy going nature and quick to help demeanor made the whole rental process easy and stress free. The house has more of the feeling of going to a relative's to stay rather than simply a furnished rental, everything gives you the impression that a family story lies behind each item and decoration. The walks on the nature trail and the fishing from the pier made my son very happy. The walks along the secluded beach made me very happy. We have stayed on Bald Head a number of times over the years but this will be the most memorable stay we have ever had.

A True Gem

East Wind is a truly magical home and location. BHI is already remote and East Wind takes it a step further via its location as the Northeastern most home on BHI. The antiques in the home are a great touch and the books written the family that explain all of the pieces (and native wildlife) are great reads. Layout is great as well with a bedroom in each corner and a bathroom attached to each bedroom. The downstairs rec room is a bonus as well. The wraparound porch is great for viewing of the salt marsh (and sunsets over the marsh) the ocean, and the maritime forest off in the distance to the north. Amazing home and gracious host!

Best of BHI beauty

This location delivers on everything that I love about BHI: uncrowded beach, fishing and crabbing on the creek, and unparalleled privacy. The cottage is perfectly maintained, manicured and user-friendly. Ron was very responsive to every question. The golf carts are the best we've ever had at BHI.

Exceptional property!

This is the most amazing home we have ever stayed in at Bald Head Island. The pictures don't do this exceptional home justice, and the privacy and views are unparalleled. Ron was very responsive and the house was spotless, organized and well furnished. We didn't want to leave and really hope to return next year.

Wonderful

We loved being close to the wild, undeveloped coastal environment. Our host, Ron, was very friendly and helpful, and the house was so comfortable and accommodating. We look forward to our next nature retreat in this lovely place!

Wow!

Wow! This is the best property on the island and it isn’t close. An absolutely one of a kind unique experience surrounded by nature. Being so close to the best beach on the island and a private nature trail is absolutely unbeatable. The house was one treasure after another. Ron was super attentive and a pleasure to work with. We will definitely be back!!

We had a great time at East Wind! The property manager is the best! This was our 4 th stay in this house. We saw beautiful sunrises every morning. We hope to be able to return to Bald Head and East Wind. Thank you so much!

wonderful escape

If you love nature and the beach this is the place. Private location with both marsh and ocean just steps away. My teenagers loved having the downstairs room to hang out in. I have to admit I was a little nervous at first about all the antiques in the house but reading about the history of them was awesome. Very relaxing enjoyable week to get away from the craziness.

Spring Break

East Wind is truly an amazing home! With the ocean on one side and marsh on the other- the views are unbelievable! The nature trail was a hit too! The house was spotless, cozy and had everything we needed. Ron was fabulous to work with too.

Location!

This was by far the cleanest and best organized property we have ever stayed at. Being able to go out the back door to the beach or the front door to the marsh, amazing!
