The whole property was nice and clean. Great amenities throughout. Definitely a unique design with lots of stairs. Communication was absolutely flawless! Would stay again

The Shore was clean, quiet and above all, whimsical. In the morning, we woke up surrounded by tree canopy. We had a wondrous stay and will likely want to come back . Thank you for having us in your beautiful home!

The Shire is very well equipped for all needs; cooking, bbq, outdoor fire circle, indoor games. It is close to, but not on, a lake. Nearby public beaches are very pleasant and a short drive away. The neighbours are friendly and helpful in pointing out local attractions. We walked our dog, so we met a few of the local people. Overall a pleasant stay. The stairs were a bit challenging for older guests, which was the onluy small drawback for our party. Otherwise a lovely family location.

The Host was the most responsive I have ever had the pleasure to interact with and was also very accommodating. We stayed in the Danaview Cottage and it was very well equipped. The woodstove and boot dryer were greatly appreciated on our winter getaway!

Best cottage to stay at!

The cottage was perfect! There was a kitchen to cook meals, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and enough space to move around. It was private and quiet and the lake was amazing! We are definitely going back again!

Loved The Shire!

We loved our stay at The Shire. The weather was a bit cooler than we would have liked, but we still did some hiking in the area and were very cozy when we got back to the cottage. The cottage is well appointed and had everything we needed for a great stay. We especially appreciated the wood stove!

Winter Getaway

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed The Shire. It was nicely decorated with plenty of thoughtful touches to make our stay more fun and comfortable. The cottage is clearly a product of care and consideration and I'd love to stay there again in the summer and check out the North Frotenacs in another season.

Get away with my daughters

What a great whimsical cottage (plus). The Shire is decked out with everything you need to enjoy a stay. The kitchen is well equipped and ready to whip up great meals. Bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!

Comfortable, well thought property

Comfortable, well thought property to spend a few days in. A bit far from provincial parks, but otherwise immersed in nature. Great for those who seek some quietness and time off from the city life. The cottage is really top notch, clean, and well equipped with everything you may need. Would definitely recommend.

We had an incredible visit at The Shire - it was just as described (if not better!) and perfect for a cozy winter stay. The cottage has so much charm and truly unique architecture. We were a group of 8 adults and really appreciated having two separate buildings for the rooms, as those wanting more quiet time were able to sneak away to the tower, or the other cottage. It was obvious that The Shire was built with lots of love and personality and had everything we needed, the kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked. On the way home our group was already talking about when we could come back! Thanks so much for the great experience.

Post Christmas break

The cottage is lovely. We enjoyed the quiet and the wood stove. Its quirky, comfortable, well stocked with everything you would ever need. Even extra toothbrushes in bathroom. We loved the 4 seater couch, retro.Excellent place.Thank you!
