We had a wonderful stay! The house was clean, comfortable, and located close to a lot of the attractions. The game room was fun for all ages. Management was very responsive to all of our communications. We would love to stay here again!"

Beautiful family vacation in the Black Hills

Family vacation — scenic drives, hikes, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse. Great accommodation close to grocery and downtown Custer.

Property description is misleading, listed as 6 bedrooms. It has 4 bedrooms. Sauna does not work. Garage smelled horribly of rotten garbage.There was dirty silverware in the clean drawer, and dirty cookware turned upside down in the cupboard.The place is plenty over priced for what it is.

Regarding the bedroom count, we will be reaching out to Vrbo to clarify why the listing was changed from 4 bedrooms to 6, as this is something we want to make sure is accurately represented. As for the sauna, it is currently working. We do have instructions in our guest guide explaining how to turn it on, as the control is located in the bedroom rather than inside the sauna itself. We’re sorry if this was not clear during your stay. We also apologize for the concerns regarding the garage and kitchen cleanliness. Location close to town, yet felt like we were in the country. We loved having a fire in the woodburning stove on cool mornings. It worked great for our family.

I’d stay again

It was great, opening the windows in the evening was good for cooling off the place. Enjoyed the big kitchen for preparing meals.

We were a little surprised at the layout, given this was listed as a 5 bedroom, but once we got oriented all was great! Easy in and out for us, very comfortable, kitchen is excellent, and the location was everything we hoped for. Our host and the local manager were there for anything we needed. Well done, and well managed!

I'm not sure if it was explicitly listed - just in case the two beds are in a loft over the garage. No bathrooms there. One bathroom in one of the bedrooms in the main housing otherwise there was a shared bathroom in the main lodging. Coffee maker didn't work. Shower would collect water. Overall though, our stay was quite pleasant. Nice location - not too far from town but still have some country vibes. Hosts were very nice. It was nice for what we needed. Would recommend.

Great home in great location

Very comfortable, convenient and clean accomodation well located in Custer! Easy for us to hit all our favorite attractions such as Custer state Park, Bear Country, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and easy drive to Hill City for shopping and fun! Owners were easy to communicate with and quick to respond! In the future when we travel out west again this will definitely be our first check for availability!!

First, the hosts were superb. They were always timely, accurate and helpful. Second, while I think the statement that it sleeps 12 comfortably should not be taken literally, everything else in description more than accurate. Lovely setting, great appliances, well stocked, and convenient to everything. We all from age 10 to 80 loved it.

Only issue was a propane gas smell in the utility area one day. Which is unexplained because there didn't seem to be any gas appliances or service to the house. Can't understand what caused it, but it was distinct and several of us noticed it. Possibly mistaken for sewer gas? Not sure. Otherwise, all good.

It was a perfect location for a small family reunion. Lots of open space, very clean and close to many attractions. The host was extremely easy to communicate with and was very prompt with any questions that we had.
