As soon as we saw your review, we replaced them the following day. While we replace our cookware each season, the island's hard water and the high heat of the gas range can sometimes cause them to wear more quickly than expected. For any future stay, we encourage you to let us know about any issues while you're still at the property. We take great pride in providing an excellent guest experience and would have been happy to replace the cookware the same day had we known about it during your stay.

Hi Amy, First, we want to thank you for choosing to stay in our home for the holidays. We are sincerely sorry that your stay didn’t meet your expectations. Your feedback is important to us, and we’d like to provide some context on our process for guest check-ins and address the concerns you raised. To ensure the highest level of cleanliness and comfort for our guests, we request that our cleaning company provide a video and photo walk-through of every cleaning before guests arrive. This includes all bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and exterior spaces. These materials are reviewed by us (the owners) prior to check-in, and an additional walk-through is completed by the cleaning company supervisor before your 3 PM check-in. After reviewing the photos and videos again, as well as speaking with our cleaning supervisor, we found no evidence to support the issues mentioned. The toilets were cleaned, the beds were made, and no bugs were observed. Our Welcome Guide specifies that if there are any issues upon check-in, guests should let us know immediately so we can address them. We didn’t hear from you until two days into your stay, when you sent us photos of a bed that appeared slept in with slightly loose sheets, a single dog hair (which we understand, as you brought two authorized dogs), a speck of glitter on the floor, a hard water stain on a faucet, scratches on the hardwood floors, and a small area of chipped paint on a kitchen cabinet. In your review, you mentioned additional concerns, but these were not included in the photos you sent on Day 2. To address the issues raised, we immediately offered to send someone over to sweep the floors, remake the beds, and check on any other concerns. However, you declined this offer, responding with “No remedy necessary.” While we respect your privacy during your stay, this didn’t allow us the opportunity to assess or fix the issues you raised. Regarding your comment about the cleanliness of the home, we always strive to provide a clean and welcoming environment, and we did make every effort to respond to your concerns. Since we couldn’t enter the home after you reached out to us on Day 2, we were unable to verify the claims or offer a solution. This leads us to believe that the issues mentioned may not be reflective of the actual state of the home. Additionally, we understand there were some issues with the check-in instructions. These instructions are sent automatically through your VRBO profile 24 hours before check-in. When you mentioned you didn’t see them, we promptly sent them again via message, well in advance of your check-in time. We take guest experiences very seriously and aim to make every stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. We are truly sorry that this was not your experience and hope you understand our sincere efforts to address your concerns. Thank you again for staying with us, and we wish you all the best.
