Indoor-Outdoor Retreat in the Heart of Uptown Kingston

Relax and enjoy the sun-drenched 25 x 25 ft open concept living / dining / kitchen w/ soaring 14 foot cathedral ceilings. French doors from the south facing room open onto a 400 sq ft deck making this a truly immersive Indoor-Outdoor living experience.

Built in 1920, this just-renovated (May 2023) Victorian has 3 WFH desks and is 1 block from Stockade Historic District with all the great restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. Rough Draft is a 3.5 min walk!

Three things we love most about our neighborhood: the food, walkability and the beautiful historic buildings. There’s nothing better than walking the historic streets and sitting outside for a cup of coffee or dinner. We are foodies and history buffs and always say that the Kingston restaurants and bakeries/cafes can hang with anywhere in NYC, which really cannot be said by any other town in Ulster county.

All restaurants and cafes in the Stockade are within a 10 minute walk. There are two parking spaces in the driveway and generally ample on street parking. Woodstock, Rhinebeck, and New Paltz are all just a 20 minute drive from our house. There is a completely separate apartment on one side of the house, but the spaces do not overlap in any way and each has its own private and separate entrance.

Note: Check in time is at 4pm. VRBO has a technical issue that is preventing our check in settings from being accurately reflected. We have surfaced this to them but it has not been resolved. We appreciate your understanding as we do not control the technical aspects of listing on VRBO.

Great stay

Terrific walkable location, comfortable well organized space. Nice backyard short walk to playground and nature center are great family features.

Tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, very well equipped and comfortable home. Perfect for a long weekend getaway! Shannon and Wilson were very friendly and responsive host and included charming personal touches that made our stay memorable.

Very comfortable and clean. Great location. Able to walk to center, shops, farmer’s market ,etcHost was very responsive. Downstairs bedroom suite was lovely, but had many stairs leading to it We were unable to use the deck due to bad weather. Still, it was nice to be able to view the yard from the large living room windows

Some things to note about this property before booking:1) it says check in is at 3 but the host told us we couldn’t get there until 4, and when we walked in cleaners were still there2) not set up for young children. I was told there was a pack n play but could not find one anywhere / would have appreciated it being set up for us 3) shower curtains dirty4) very limited supplies, we had to buy our own paper towels and shampoo5) on-site gym facility means a yoga mat in a closet :) 6) owners are not regularly at the property 7) you cannot dead bolt the property from the outside

Hi Lauren, thanks for taking the time to share these details. Feedback like this genuinely helps us improve. We did want to clarify a few things for future guests reading this too. Check-in has always been set at 4pm on our end. We've flagged a this technical issue to Vrbo which shows a different time from what we have set, and we're sorry for any confusion that it caused. In the interim, we have added the check in time to the description so future guests are aware. We sent over the pack n play's location before your stay via direct message. We really appreciate you flagging the shower curtains. That's the first time we've had that note and we've already followed up with our cleaner. Every stay includes starter supplies (paper towel, toilet paper, 3-in-1 shampoo/body wash/bubble bath, laundry detergent, and basic cooking staples), and our fitness equipment, including yoga mats, free weights, and a pull-up bar, are shown in the listing photos. The yoga mat you referenced seeing is directly next to the pack n play you were unable to locate.. We are at the property often. Due to back-to-back bookings and our family being on vacation during your stay, we were unable to overnight the mouthguard you had left as you had requested. The front door doesn't have an exterior deadbolt, but the interior mudroom doors do. We just needed a bit more info from you after you inquired about locking those doors, but did not receive a response to our message. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope you enjoyed your stay in Kingston.

Great spot for a group trip!

Stayed recently with three couples total and loved cooking and hanging out together in the space. Couldn’t enjoy the nice patio due to weather but even so we all had a great stay! Shannon was a great host and super accommodating with our schedules.

This is an outstanding place to stay. The rooms and space accommodated everyone in our group. The location is perfect for walking to the historic Kingston area for shopping and dining. The outdoor space is very inviting. The kitchen is great. It is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. But even more important was the responsiveness of our hosts. Providing contact information made it easy to communicate and she was so helpful and kind when responding, When we needed assistance due to an incident with our two year old grandson, Shannon provided support and information to allow us to address the incident. Her kindness, professionalism and communication ensured our family weekend was fun and enjoyable. If you’re considering staying in Kingston, choosing this rental is an excellent decision.
