Beautifully Renovated Vintage Cabin in the Heart of Manistee National Forest

Beautifully redesigned, vintage, comfortable, super clean cabin located in the heart of Manistee National Forest. Totally secluded with no neighbors in sight. Cabin sits on 5 wooded acres and is surrounded by hundreds of acres of Manistee National Forest. Our place has been recently remodeled and beautifully appointed. Close to fishing ( WORLD RECORD BROWN TROUT CAUGHT 4 MILES AWAY), hunting, hiking, downhill and cross country skiing, mountain biking, (Big M Cross Country and mountain bike trails are only 3 miles down the road) canoeing and kayaking, and snowmobiling ( catch the trails right from the driveway). Beautiful covered front porch with huge patio and charcoal grill. Also has a firepit for those evening bonfires! The cabin comes totally furnished and also has a washer and dryer. The bathroom and bedroom are very large and there is a leather sofa and futon in the living room. We also have 2 very comfortable roll away sleeper cots. You will not be disappointed with our place!

Family fishing trip

The accommodations were well suited for the occasion, and there was nothing lacking according to what was represented by the advertisement. Surely an excellent cabin to rent for a fishing or hunting trip

Loved our short stay!

We spent two nights at Shawn’s cabin for a quick anniversary getaway. It was clean, the location was private and peaceful, and Shawn was very responsive, kind and accommodating. We’d love to return!

Quiet getaway

Hunting

Too many tree huggers in the area. Made lots of noise preceding and during hunting. Local DNR said to chill and deal with it. Wrong answer. Cabin is beautiful though and highly recommend if not hunting. Thank you.

Cute and cozy!

Cute and cozy little cabin. Very very clean. we enjoyed the shooting range right off the porch. Check in and out was a breeze. Right off the road from the trails. Only complaints were that the bed wasn’t very comfy and the headboard was noisy upon any slight movement. Overall we really enjoyed our getaway and would stay here again!

Cozy, clean cabin in the woods. Close to trails and Tippy Dam. About 20 minutes from downtown Manistee which is a very cute town. Just a little noisy at times with the traffic since it’s right off the main highway.

Exactly what we were looking for

The cabin was exactly what we were hoping for. Do to weather we weren’t able to explore the property though. We will definitely be back to do just that.

Salmon Fishing

We chose this rental for it's proximity to Tippy Dam Recreation area to meet our guide. It was great because it was far enough away but still a close drive (20 minutes). The house is 20 minutes from the town of Manistee which is incredibly beautiful with fun shops and dining. The house was fun and had everything we needed. On the nights we weren't fishing we were able to have a campfire and relax outside. My husband enjoyed target shooting at the onsite range. Honestly, last year we stayed at a fancier, more expensive house but had more fun here. Shawn and his wife were very responsive to any questions. Overall, I would highly recommend!

Great Weekend

My husband and some of our close friends stayed at the cabin for the North Country Trail race weekend. The cabin was super clean, roomy, and close to the start/finish. This is the place we will want to stay every time we go back for this race or if we just want to spend the weekend in Manistee!

Perfect Up North Getaway

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful, secluded cabin near Lake Michigan for our annual trip up north, and this was perfect! Very clean and tidy, with all the amenities needed to prepare meals after a day at the beach and then kick back and relax around the campfire at night. We loved it! Owners are super friendly and respond quickly to messages. Thank you so much for everything. We'll be back someday for sure.

This cabin was in an ideal location. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed staying there except the bed was uncomfortable and creaked loudly everytime either my husband or myself turned over.

Loved our stay at this property

My husband and I loved our stay at this property. To be honest, we didn't use all the things it had to offer because we didn't have enough time. The property is clean, well-maintained, is just as advertised, and feels welcoming. There is plenty of room inside of the property as well as outside. The location is easy to find and within an hour or two of popular destinations. Host answers promptly. We had no issues during our stay and would recommend staying here.

Cabin is beautiful inside and out. Convenient grill and fire pit area. We love to target shoot and this property is equipped with a great area for this. Comfortable bed, extremely soft sheets!! Shawn is very fast to respond to any questions and cares about his renters. Also quite near to Lake Michigan for a great day at the beach. Thanks for a fun and comfortable stay, Shawn and family! Cabin in the Woods

Very quiet, no close neighbors. Surrounded by woods. Surprised to not see or hear any wildlife or birds even when walking in the woods, except a brief glimpse of one squirrel.

Such a beautiful, quaint cabin!! We loved our stay and felt comfortable and at home. We enjoyed the charcoal grill (who doesn't love BBQ steak bought from the local market?!), and the firepit consumed our evenings. We chose this cabin because of its location; small town feels, but only an hour away from Traverse City!!!! (where we spent the day, and were more than happy to bring our wine back to the cabin for a relaxing evening) Shawn was super responsive, and we can't wait to come back and stay again!

Great stay!

There was a very simple, ultra stream -lined check in and check out process. No multi-page list of rules and checklists. This tells me that the owner trusts and respects his renters. I agree with other things that others have written: Ultra-clean, secluded, a bit of highway noise but not bothersome to us in the least. Close to supplies (e.g., the best Dollar General I have ever been in. They had absolutely everything, including fresh produce). Nice workmanship on the interior woods. More outlets than you can shake a stick at. Shower was the greatest: pure water and wonderful pressure. Nice wooded property but we didn’t walk out into the woods. Overall a very nice stay.

Nothing short of amazing!

My wife and I were celebrating an anniversary weekend together and wanted a secluded yet "close to town" spot to stay. This place was perfect. Everything was clean and ready for us when we got there. I let the owner know ahead of time that we would be checking in quite late and it wasn't an issue. Highly recommend vacationing here as well as visiting some hiking trails around the area!

We LOVE this part of Michigan and feel like it is truly God's country. We get great satisfaction when happy customers call after their stay and tell us how much they enjoyed the cabin and how beautiful it is in that part of the state. We take pride in our place and can assure you that it will be clean and comfortable!

Our cabin is very secluded but very easy to get to. I grew up in the area and always wanted a place of my own. We love the area and all that it offers. There are 2 ski resorts, a casino, 2 spas, snowmobile trails, hiking trails, and a ton of streams and lakes all within a 20 minute drive.

Our property borders hundreds of acres of Manistee National Forest which can be used by renters. Tons of wildlife in the area ( turkey, deer, bear, squirrel, great bird watching, and its VERY relaxing!!
