Make Memories this summer, suite, firepit, deck on Lake Michigan

Year after year you've been saying you're going to take a trip up north to see the beautiful land and lakes of "Pure Michigan." Now's the time. TREAT YOURSELF to a relaxing time at the Lake. There is a parking spot right in the private driveway.

Visit our home and enjoy a suite that is attached to the house and contains 1 bedroom and 1 bath. There is also a very comfortable couch in the living room area for sleeping. This room can sleep 4 people with available cots, two (2) adults and 1 or 2 small children, ages 12 and under. In the suite is a private bathroom with a shower and a claw-foot bathtub with dimming lights overhead, which creates a romantic and relaxing setting. The suite is furnished with a bed and dresser. There is no smoking on the premises. There are no pets allowed in the suite. There is also a wood burning stove which provides warmth on those chilly nights. This suite has its own PRIVATE ENTRANCE. There is an additional charge for children over the age of 12, $50 per night, along with the additional sturdy queen-size blow-up mattress.

Our house is located in the Victorian Port City of Manistee and is right on Lake Michigan. Even though the weather is cooler, you can still walk the beach and enjoy breath-taking sunsets. Be embraced with the peace, joy and serenity at our home. There is off-street parking for one car only. Any other cars would have to park on the street, (which is no problem). The suite is furnished with a dining table and 4 chairs. There is a microwave, a toaster oven (with small grill) and a small coffee pot. There is also a mini-fridge.There is also a flat screen TV and WiFi available. The suite is also wheelchair accessible. There is an outdoor grill for cooking or to relax by the fire. Only 10 minutes away is the Little River Casino where you can try your luck 24/7.

We have 200' of Lake Michigan frontage. We have recently installed a seawall with large boulders to prevent hillside erosion. We have newly installed steps that lead to our private beach, where you can sit and relax in complete privacy, you can also get into the water and you can walk for miles on the beach. You can sit or lay on the beach right in front of the property. There is also a public beach near the downtown area with playgrounds.

Lake Michigan lakefront property

The place was freezing cold. Took 6 hours to warm up. The kitchen floor had not been swept or cleaned. We could not get some of the streaming channels she said she had. The view was terrible. You look out to the top of the owners roof. You could see the water through only a couple windows. On the positive side they had an electric blanket on the bed, which we needed as the house just getting warm. They did offer us the bigger house at the same price as the one with no kitchen as they had a cancelation.

Great place to stay for our fall color drive

We totally enjoyed staying at Gary & Shirley's place. They were hospitable and the place was clean and beautiful right on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed walks on the beach, sitting around the fire at night, and driving to TC. Thank you for sharing this wonderful get-a-way place!

Perfect Late Summer / Early Fall

Our host treated us so well. She upgraded our stay, and the uograde was actually just what we were looking for. We had access to a washer / dryer. The bath was lovely with a new shower. The home was beautifully scented. The bed was very comfortable. We also.had access to a a thermostat. The siundif the waves was so soothing. And thequiet datkness was alsomist enjoy! We loved the place overall. Would recommend they add an ac unit. But fans worked. Just an opinion to improve upon the place.

The VIEW! The SUNSETS! The WAVES!

I'll be back! I went down to the beach (13 steps, a landing, then 15 steps, then about one minute of walking through dune grass to get there, if you're curious), played in the waves, and relaxed. There was a misty day, and I followed the suggestions the host provided and found a Gravity Hill and was amazed, and went for a couple easy hikes in nature preserves. Purely by accident, the house was getting a new roof while I was there, but you can't always choose when these things happen. Luckily, down by the beach, I couldn't hear a thing, and evenings and mornings were quiet. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps another table/floor lamp or two in the living room, since the one that is there is a bit dim for reading in the evening. There were overhead lights, but they're not terribly atmospheric.

It felt more like a rented room than a vacation rental; however, the hosts were so kind, the location is beautiful, and I'd come back just to walk the beach again.

Wonderful piece of property. Enjoyed spending everyday on the beach to yourself. Sad the amount of trash that washes up but we walked for miles and cleaned it up along the way. Beautiful views and peaceful. Everything we needed. Thank you

Everything as advertised

The location was beautiful. Great view of lake michigan. Getting down to the beach involved alot of stairs but they were very well constructed and maintained. Our hosts when we saw them we very friendly. Only issue we had was the door separating the suite and their house was a hollow core door which we could hear everything going on next door. Definitely would recommend to other couples looking to get away

Couple getaway

Me and my boyfriend enjoyed our stay here. We spent most of the day sightseeing and doing things in manistee. It was nice to come back to a private beach and relax there. One thing I didn’t like is that there were people walking by the big window and they could see inside straight to the bed. It did have curtains but I didn’t like closing them because that’s were the main view of the water was.

My wife and I loved our stay here. The spectacular view and sunsets will never be forgotten. The proximity to shopping, local restaurants and hikes was great. We highly recommend.

It was just a fantastic time!

We had the best time here. The hosts we very friendly & accommodating. The view of Lake Michigan is amazing and just a few steps down to the beach. We walked the beach collecting unique stones, went into Downtown Manistee ate and saw a movie at a very charming movie theatre. Just the best time. We'll be back!

Great place to get away

Great fall getaway!

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary trip at this location. There are plenty of activities to do local. Owners are friendly and quick to respond to any questions. I would recommend this for any couple trying to get a short getaway.

Rare opportunity to stay right on Lk Michigan

You're right on Lk. Michigan and there is a big window to watch from, along with a balcony and stairway down to the beach. It's a lot of steps but if you're in reasonable shape it's no problem. It's a quiet completely safe area. I would not worry about leaving it unlocked and slept with the door and all the windows open. I was expecting a bit more of kitchen facilities and it really is not set up for food preparation beyond making a sandwich. There's not really anywhere to wash dishes, so be prepared to do takeout and paper plates. But that's a minor adjustment for the opportunity to being right on the big lake.

Relaxing!

The owners were kind enough to help us with rebooking twice! And it was worth the effort. We enjoyed having direct access to Lake Michigan for long walks along the beach as well as quiet evenings on the deck serenaded by wind & waves. Can’t wait to return!

Short getaway

View of Lake Michigan was awesome, sunsets were beautiful. Owners were friendly and accommodating. Room did have a slightly musty smell and the hair dryer does need to be replaced, but overall we were not disappointed.

Beautiful view, peaceful location.

This VRBO is private, but attached to the host's home. From the deck next to where you'll stay you'll have a stunning view of lake Michigan. It's not set up for cooking (mini fridge, microwave, and a combo coffee maker/toaster oven) but they provide plenty of firewood for the fire pit and we had a full steak dinner we cooked on our second night there and enjoyed a lovely sunset while we ate. Over a mile of beach to walk along if you so choose and you can sit by the water in front of the rental if you want. There is wi-fi, we preferred to rest and disconnect from our busy lives and this is a great spot to do it. You will be staying between the neighbor's house and the Host's and you will have to be mindful of light/noise (porch light can shine right into neighbor's open windows) so not the place I would recommend for visitors who want to play music/night owls. It's definitely a lovely spot for quiet reflection/enjoyment.
