This was a perfect place to enjoy everything the Berkshires has to offer in the summer time! We loved kayaking, swimming at nearby Lake Garfield, hiking, and enjoying Tanglewood and Shakespeare and Company. We definitely hope to return!

Very relaxing stay at Jake’s property! Perfect for a getaway to the Berkshires. Jake was a very responsive host and made the stay simple from check in to check out. Easy access to Lake Garfield and Great Barrington.

We enjoyed our stay here. The grounds are lovely, and Brewer Lake’s parkland next door gave us more open space for the children in our group. The open design of the kitchen and dining area was lovely. But our first impression was less than ideal. Damp weather had left the house smelling musty, and the last occupant had left unwashed pots and dishes. Jake had already told us that the house slept 7, not the 10 listed in the description, but the description also listed a porch and a view of the lake which actually refer to a different property, as does the dishwasher. Jake was responsive, but was unable to come repair the screen door that allowed mosquitos in. You will find plenty of good books and games if the weather turns inclement. It was a one minute drive to the beach, and a fun trail can be walked to the beach in 20 minutes.

This was our first stay here and we hope it won’t be our last. The cottage is perfectly situated for us:20 minutes to Jacob’s Pillow and Great Barrington and 30 to Tanglewood. The cottage was comfortable- sofas and beds. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. It’s very quiet- no traffic- a real getaway.There are tons of books and games too
