Enjoy modern convenience accented with vintage nostalgia. This designer-renovated property amicably blends elevated decor, thoughtful amenities, and retro charm. Designed with small groups of friends and family in mind, The Woodland Ramble offers three bedrooms (4 beds), two full bathrooms, a fully-stocked kitchen, and large indoor and outdoor living areas.

You'll feel right at home from the moment you arrive with plenty of room for everyone in your group to spread out and gather together. Enjoy a stress-free, home-away-from-home experience with kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom essentials provided. Comfortable, quality furnishings, cozy bedrooms, and a gas log fireplace encourage relaxation while locally-thrifted gems, classic board games, and a curated vinyl collection invite you to play and reminisce. Custom designed textiles and artwork by the host create added whimsy in a nod to the home's 1970s build and its natural surroundings. As a souvenir, guests are invited to use the provided Instax camera and film to capture special moments during their stay.

We lovingly welcome young children and dogs! We've given extra attention to child and pet safety so these curious guests can comfortably explore their surroundings. Durable, easy-to-clean finishes and furnishings prove you don't have to sacrifice an elevated experience when traveling with children or pets. We offer baby and toddler amenities upon request at no extra charge: portable crib, high chairs, toddler table & chairs, play pen, video monitor, training potty and more!

Our four-legged guests will feel just as welcome as their humans with clean food and water bowls, locally made treats, a fresh tennis ball, sleeping cots and washable beds, furniture blankets, shampoo, brushes, and towels, waste bags, deodorizing wipes, spare leashes, and a large grassy yard with shade.

Single-level living, large common areas that flow into one another, zero-step room entrances, and a wheelchair-friendly bathroom with grab bars provide comfort and peace of mind for anyone with mobility restrictions. Easily get in and out of your vehicle under our wide carport and enter through the kitchen door with a short 3" threshold or up the low, two-step porch and through the wide front door. Two wide steps with a secure railing provide stable access in and out of the hot tub.

Outside, 3.5 lightly wooded acres provide ample room away from the road for everyone to safely roam and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Warmer months foster full privacy and the feeling of a remote setting while winter months provide a glimpse of the surrounding ridge lines. Walkways, entrances, and outdoor living areas are softly illuminated by solar lights for safety and ambiance.

– Room By Room –

Spend more quality time together around the 8-person dining table enjoying home-cooked meals. Our full-size kitchen features brand new stainless steel appliances, cookware and bakeware, cutlery, ceramic and outdoor dinnerware, bar utensils and stemware, Crockpot, blender, waffle maker, hand mixer, and other small appliances. Start each morning with a hot cup of coffee, cappuccino or a shot of espresso, matcha latte, or herbal tea. We provide local coffees, teas, Nespresso pods, creamer, sugar, and flavored syrups. Highchairs and toddler-size dining furniture are available upon request.

Gather by the gas log fireplace on the 8-person sofa for movie night on the 50" smart TV or game night with our collection of cards and board games for all ages. Toys, books, puzzles, and art supplies provide indoor entertainment for young guests while a large grassy yard, assorted outdoor toys and games, and sidewalk chalk encourage outdoor play. Sip on a crisp glass of wine, local beer, or hot chocolate by the fire pit. End a full day of hiking with a soak in the 6-person hot tub under the string lights and stars.

Cozy bedrooms with layered bedding, ceiling fans, mobile fans, sound machines, and room darkening shades provide options for optimal comfort and a good night's sleep. Operable windows with screens invite fresh mountain air inside along with soft cicada lullabies during warmer months. Dressers, full-size closets, luggage racks, and assorted clothes hangers provide ample storage for personal items throughout your stay. Extra sheets, blankets, and quilts accommodate anyone sleeping on the sofa or guests who want to push the two twin beds together. Lightweight cotton robes and washable spa slippers elevate the journey to and from the hot tub.

Walk-in showers provide easy access while full-size vanities offer counter space and storage for toiletries. Plush towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, facial tissue, and feminine hygiene products are provided. Infant/toddler bathtub and accessories, training potty/potty seat, and vanity step stool are available upon request.

– Convenience & Seclusion –

Less than 1/2 mile from the Asheville city line, the property is situated in a more rural area where traffic is lighter, nights are quieter, and acreage provides more privacy. The closest neighbor is your host, to the left of the property. Nearby residents are quiet and peaceful. A remote-like setting paired with the convenience of being close to town keeps everyone in your group happy. Escape the traffic and noise while being close to shopping, dining, and your bucket list attractions like the Biltmore Estate, River Arts District, Pisgah National Forest, and more!

The house is an easy drive in and out of town. On your way in, pick up your online grocery order from Ingles Market just 2 miles away, or have a local concierge service deliver items to the property before your arrival. Pharmacies, markets, dining, and shopping are all within a 5-minute drive for last-minute needs. And in case of an emergency, the fire department, urgent care, and veterinarian are just 2 miles away.

You’ll access the property via a paved driveway off of a state-maintained road. The driveway quickly slopes down and back up again, potentially surprising those not used to mountain terrain. No need to sweat though! It’s plenty wide and a smooth ride to the house at the back of the lot. Any kind of vehicle can safely and easily make it in and out, and there is enough parking for multiple vehicles - under the carport, on the paved driveway, and on two gravel pads.

The property is Uber and Lyft-friendly. There are always taxis and ride-shares waiting near the Asheville Regional Airport except between the hours of 10 pm-5 am in which case it's best to schedule a ride in advance. Uber/Lyft rides to and from downtown Asheville, River Arts District, and West Asheville average $10-$20 each way depending on the time of day, peak seasons, and any special events happening in the area.

Booked guests will receive a Google Maps link and detailed directions to the property with their check-in instructions.

Oasis of Relaxation and Play

We stayed Dec 27-30 with another family (kids ranging 3-8 years). I can’t say enough great things1. Location: yes it’s a quick drive to downtown Asheville/River Arts/west Asheville and a huge Ingles grocery, but the location of the house is wonderfully quiet and on several acres of land, giving great privacy. 2. Communication: hosts are quick to respond. There are tasteful small signs and throughout to help with locating things like hot tub towels, washcloths for makeup, etc. There’s also the best website I’ve ever seen that has a house manual containing things like hot tub directions and links to buy decor you see in the home, restaurant recommendations, and things to do. 3. Decor/textiles: so well designed and stocked. In the listing it talks about the hosts wanting it to be a home away from home where you don’t have to worry about anything, and that is exactly how we felt because of the thought put into every item in this home. Often rentals have cheap sheets, blankets, towels, soaps, etc. but not The Woodland Ramble: ample bath towels and washcloths that were bright white, soft, and absorbent, sheets and blankets that made you want to stay in the comfy beds as long as possible, and pillow choices that a great night’s sleep was guaranteed. 4.Kitchen was beyond stocked and had shar4. Little things like kids’ toys and housewares prepped for us, bins for s’mores, local snacks and teas and honey, and Polaroids.

Hi! I'm Linsey. My husband Adam & I are committed to providing a safe place for guests to spend quality time together in a convenient, comfortable, and memorable space. As an artist, designer, and carpenter, we renovated the entire home ourselves in a way that harkens back to the home's 1972 build, weaving in custom textiles and artwork throughout. We adore this home and hope that everyone who stays here feels the love that's been poured into it.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

We live next door and became close with the previous owners of this home and enjoyed all of its wonderful stories. They graciously offered us the opportunity to purchase it. Without hesitation, we happily took over the task of preserving this beautiful property as space for our visiting family and a place for others to spend quality time together and create new memories. We love the remote-like feeling of the property paired with is convenient location, the ease of going to and from, and the friendly wildlife that frequents the grounds. The house is in great shape and with a little TLC is now ready for decades of new stories!

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

This property is uniquely situated close to town but just far enough away for more privacy and quiet eventings. The house and outdoor areas offer plenty of room for guests to spread out and gather together as desired. Quality commercial-grade materials and furnishings make for a kid and dog friendly environment without sacrificing a luxury, well-designed aesthetic. We designed and renovated the entire property ourselves, including custom designed textiles and artwork that add 1970s charm and celebrate WNC's natural beauty. In addition to durable furnishings, we've also taken extra measures to ensure the space is safe for babies and toddlers to explore, and we offer high-chairs, cribs, toys, and more so that all ages feel at home here.
