Stunning 4 bedroom 1820s Colonial farmhouse, 1.5 hrs from Manhattan in the Hudson Valley. Full of character, this spacious family/pet-friendly house comes with wonderful amenities, including well equipped kitchen, a sauna, 50ft heated swimming pool (heated July to August), 2 acres of land, 4 bed rooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 sitting rooms, a playroom, trampoline, bbq and fire pit. ** PLEASE NOTE - during the summer months there maybe limited availability for weekend bookings. 3 night minimum always. **

Dog Friendly Clinton Corners Vacation

We had a great trip and Sophie was kind enough to let us have both of our 9 month old lab puppies stay as well. We dubbed the trip “The Dogs’ Vacation” because they had such a great time!!! The back yard was wonderful for them and our 14 year old son. We came during a storm and the trees in the backyard could use some trimming. The house was just like the pictures…I would say a little maintenance would go a long way for this property. But as I told Sophie, the house felt like home and that was key for us. The sun finally came out and we did have a great day at the pool on Saturday. We also took trips to Rhinebeck and Hudson! The weather turned out pretty nice, we only had one night where it was really hot. Window AC units in the bedrooms would be a great add. We cooked almost every night and the appliances were very nice. I’m really glad we booked Sophie’s house and I think it was well priced. We only used two of the four bedrooms but there is plenty of space in this charming house.

Spacious house with character!

8 family members from 3 households stayed in this lovely home for 4 nights. So many rooms, we didn’t even use them all! Comfortable furniture in every living room and den. Everyone loved the sauna too. The kitchen and island provided everything we needed to prepare dinners there. The large pool in a beautiful garden wasn’t opening for another week or so when it gets hot, so we would love to go back when we can enjoy that too!

Holiday rental

We enjoyed our stay at this rental. We had 6 family members stay there and had plenty of room for all, including an extra bunk room that could fit more. The house was stocked with enough towels, pillows, and bedding and the kitchen also came fully stocked. We did have trouble maintaining a comfortable temperature in the house as it was actually too warm for us (even though it was 30 outside). Sophie was a great host and very responsive when any questions arose.

Perfect location to re-connect

The house is beautiful with plenty of room to come together in small groups or large to re-connect. We loved the cozy, well-appointed kitchen! There was plenty of outdoor space to explore too - next time we'll come back during the summer so we can use the pool!

Suited our needs!

Definite pros: large fenced in yard for the dog, country feel, plenty of space for everyone, lots of firewood for evening fires Cons: there were a lot of gnats in the kitchen that also took over a plastic closed container of pastries we brought. Front entry could be cleaned of leaves and be a bit safer.

Fun family house

We had a nice two-week stay in August. The kids loved the pool and had fun in the playroom. We were also able to explore the area - the winery nearby, short hikes, visit some tourist destinations like the Vanderbilt mansion and Rhineback Aerodome. We had a couple of problems with the pool, but Sophie was very responsive in helping us to address them. The only thing we didn’t realize is that the house is quite close to the road. It is fenced off and very private, however if you’re a light sleeper and there in the summer with the windows open (there is no AC) it can be a bit loud.

Earthy escape

Feel thoroughly rejuvenated after three tranquil nights with family at Sophie and Alex’s house . Well preserved 1700 farmhouse , so warm on arrival , kids loved trampoline, games books and neighboring donkey Willard . We lit the fire each night , loved the restored simplicity and pure nature surrounding this home . Most lovely earthy place , thank you .

Kids' paradise

This wonderful old house is tastefully designed while also being welcoming to kids and dogs. The playroom is just for kids and filled with a vast array of toys and fun. Outside is a trampoline, soccer, sleds, a swimming pool behind fencing (out of season for us sadly), a sledding hill...We ate feasts in the lovely dining room, the kids watched cartoons in the second living room, the dogs raced around the big yard...I could go on. A very special place.

Much needed change of scenery

The listing does not do this house justice. The layout is incredible. The kitchen is great. The rooms are large enough for a group of 8 to hang out together yet the house was large enough that all eight of us could have privacy to work/attend school privately on one of the days we were there (with no WiFi issues). The backyard is totally fenced in, so our dogs had a field day running around with one another. I can't say enough good things about this house. Finally, the instructions from the owner were perfect and she was a pleasure to deal with.

Perfect family holiday

The house is so sweet, with enough family spaces for all of us to cook, eat and play games, but also enough quiet spaces for those who needed to work.

Charming and cozy

We had a really fun time staying at this cozy home. The property is stunningly beautiful and the house was spacious and well-appointed with everything you’ll need in a home away from home. The kids enjoyed running around the backyard, jumping on the trampoline, and playing in the playroom that had tons of games, art supplies, and fun things for them to enjoy. The adults enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and spending time around the large dining table and outside fire pit. We had a lovely weekend enjoying the space and scenery. The owner was easy to get in touch with and accessible. It was too cold to take advantage of the backyard pool, but it looks like it would be amazing in the summertime.

"Country" living with all the comforts of home

My family and I had a truly remarkable time living a "country" life in this beautifully restored farmhouse. It's apparent the house has been lovingly looked after and maintains some of the charming original details. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful kitchen which was equipped for every meal. Speaking of meals..the BBQ grill and fire pit were excellent. The grounds are also very well kept- the gardens are lush and the pool...the heated pool was one of the main reasons for choosing this house and it exceeded expectations! Location wise, although fairly remote, everything was in driving distance and were able to walk to a nearby deli/coffee shop, wine store and Meadowland Farm (hi Willard!). Lastly, thank you Sophie for being so quick to respond to questions etc. We were all very sad to leave!

Summer Bliss

We had such a wonderful time at Sophie’s country house. Backyard grilling, s’mores in the firepit, reading on the porch during a passing rainstorm, walking to the neighboring farm to buy eggs, Jeanie Bean’s bacon egg ’n cheese sandwiches down the road.... and most of all the amazing pool! We spent practically the whole week in it. Taught our kids how to dive off the diving board, and even our little one who just learned to swim had fun jumping in the deep end. Thank you, Sophie, for a beautiful end to our summer!

Perfect Getaway from NYC

My friends and I had an amazing week at this property. Sophie was very responsive with all our questions leading up to our trip as well as during the week. There was plenty of space for our group in the house and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our large meals. This property probably had the best pool out of all our prior rentals - huge and very clean. The location was also perfect for our trip. It was very easy to stock up on groceries, visit farmers markets, find hikes and golf during our stay.

Beautiful property, Amazing outdoor space

We really enjoyed the house. This is an old farmhouse with a lot of character. The outdoor space is beautiful! the children spent hours running around, swinging and jumping on the trampoline. The outdoor space is home to many birds, butterflies and even fireflies, which added to the getaway atmosphere. The playroom was another big hit - well equipped & charming. The only downside is the rundown bathrooms and toilets, which are in need for renovation.

Quaint Farmhouse.

We loved our stay. The house is spacious, clean, and well equipped. The grounds are beautiful. Sophie was responsive. We wished the weather was better. Because the last day was finally nice, Sophie let us stay the entire day and enjoy the property, past check out.

Great family escape

Beautiful home and grounds. The kids absolutely loved it, with an amazing playroom, terrific books, and the trampoline and swing outside, as well as the small working farm directly across the street (cows, donkey, sheep, chickens). Good cell service/wifi, home is close to a great little restaurant (Jeanie's) and Millbrook. Very quiet (but if you need the heat and are a light sleeper, the pipes/radiators do make noise in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms). Very comfortable and relaxing, all of us look forward to coming back! Highly recommended.

Wonderful Retreat!

Comfy Country Charm

Our family of 10 spent a week in this awesome house! The place was a wonderland for children, grown-ups, and pooch alike. The kids only left the play room to eat or sled in the yard. We came up for my father's memorial service and there were plenty of comfy places for family to visit and reminisce. The steps into the place were a small challenge for my disabled cousin, but otherwise we managed beautifully with her rolling walker. The kitchen was well equipped and made cooking for a crowd as easy as at home. We loved the old world charm and personality of the place, perhaps with the exception of the low door frame to the laundry room which my husband kept bumping his noggin on. LOL. Sophie was great to deal with long distance as we made arrangements for our visit and was always very fast to respond if we had a need. If/when we return to the area we will absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful house, perfect for families, beautiful grounds

This has been one of our favorite houses to stay as a family. The house is a charming old farmhouse, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Our children, 5 and 6, loved the playroom and the grounds - so much it was hard to get them out of the door to explore the area. There were all kinds toys and games for children, ping pong table, basketball, trampoline, and pool, which unfortunately it was to cold to use. Sophie was incredibly accommodating, especially given that we only booked the property the day before. She had it cleaned and ready before we arrived. Location is very convenient to the towns in the Hudson Valley and also the Litchfield area. There were directions and suggestions on where to eat and go that were very useful. We hope to visit again soon.

Very kid friendly house with the playroom

The active wood burning fireplace was great for a cold winter weekend. The house has everything you need. The only note I would mention is that the house has Tv but not regular cable, Netflix only.
