We enjoyed our stay at The Little Black Cabin in the Oaks. We had a big family gathering at Lake Somerville and this was a perfect place for us to stay this year, so close to Big Creek Marina.

Cabin was as described. Clean, fully stocked with all the necessities to make your stay enjoyable. Communication with owners was easy and detailed. Location was very relaxing and quiet. Very nice Location for a cozy weekend.

The cabin was perfect! Clean, nice and everything you would need was there! The games were fun and entertaining! Loved viewing the Texas A&M campus. Spent time with our Aggie grandson and attended Easter mass with him at the beautiful St. Mary's Catholic church. Loved the tacos at Fuego's! We would happily book the little black cabin again!

The inside of the cabin was clean. But the outside could use a lot of work. Trimming up the trees and cleaning around the fire pit in the back. Even if we had wanted to use the fire pit we couldn't, it had limbs stacked in it. There is a pile pea gravel sitting in the driveway. The backyard is terrible. The front yard needs a good mowing and weed eating.

I enjoyed my stay at the Little Black Cabin. It was very clean and comfortable and supplied everything I needed. I was there for a fishing trip to Lake Somerville and had ample space to park my truck and boat. The host replied quickly to my questions and concerns. Would defiantly recommend to anyone interested, and would positively stay again.Sincerly, Mike

5⭐️. Cabin near Lake Somerville

We had a catfish tournament at Lake Somerville and we parked our truck and boat in the driveway. Loved the cabin! Beautiful, quiet and cozy!

Softball weekend

We had a softball tournament in Brenham and decided to make a weekend out of it with the family and our Frenchie. Place was small but perfect, communication was outstanding. There were a few crumbs on the kitchen table but otherwise very clean. I would stay here again.

Excellent stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Little Black Cabin over Thanksgiving weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed, and both the bed and the sleeper sofa were incredibly comfortable. The cabin offered a peaceful and quiet retreat, while still being conveniently close to stores and family. An added bonus was the electric car charger, which wasn't mentioned in the listing but was greatly appreciated!

Wonderful place to stay!

We had a great time at the little black cabin in the woods. It was secluded yet perfectly situated between gas, restaurants, Dollar General and Lake Somerville! The host was very nice and responsive. The cabins porch was awesome!! The house was cozy, cold and clean!! We will definitely be back!

Cabin was clean, comfortable, and decorated nicely. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. Loved the front porch, just wish the back yard wasn’t so wet; we couldn’t use the fire pit. It is a very secluded location and a bit of a drive to get to a store or restaurant.

Quite country retreat

A well appointed, comfortable cabin. We booked it as a place to stay at night after spending the day at Lake Somerville. The a/c works great and the shower was perfect after a day in the heat. The decor is tasteful and stylish. We will be back!

Kristen was very accommodating. She answered any questions we had. Also her place was pet friendly, which was very important to us. Would definitely recommend her cabin!!

My Perfect Weekend

This little cabin was the perfect place to spend some “me time” away from the big city. It was quiet and private but not far from others. Cocooned under shade trees, it provided seclusion that came at just the right time. The finishing were nice and comfortable and the shower was wonderful. Thank you to the hosts. Matjorie

Beautifully done little house with porch and backyard. We’re out at Lake Somerville for a Motorcycle Club birthday party around that time every year and were notified last minute that the only hotel in town was shutting down for one reason or another. I quickly got on Expedia and found this little gem. Instructions sent over email. Thanks so much, looking forward to staying again, vacancy permitting.

Cabin is cute and what I expected. It is small but it is quite cozy and decorated perfectly. The host has made great use of the space.The cabin was clean, and the host left lights on and had the exterior lit well, which was much appreciated. The bed is really soft, while the couch is more firm. Both are comfortable. I was surprised at the strength of the water pressure and that the water didn't have a "well" taste. In areas like Somerville sometimes the water isn't that great, this wasn't an issue at this cabin.Each primary room (bedroom and living room) have ceiling fans. We stayed during a time of year that we didn't need to use the HVAC at all, the ceiling fans kept it quite comfortable. I love the yard, the usable space of the yard is level and easy to navigate, while the remaining (edges) of the yard are somewhat wooded. It is also furnished with seats, a BBQ and fire pit. It reminded me of our yards in Tennessee. The address is clearly marked at the road too.Lastly, my booking was a bit difficult, due to my unfamiliarity of renting. Host was very helpful, quick with her replies and walked me through a lot of things that were above and beyond her scope as a host. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cabin.

Yard was in disarray. Needed mowing (weeds) and walk way edging was ripped out of place. Windows need actual curtains or shade as those bamboo pulldowns were very see thru. Especially at night with lights on. Next door neighbor dogs came over and harassed my dog (fight I had to break up). Need better fence protection if dogs are around. Trash from previous renters was still in sink can. Almost full when we arrived. We like it overall but had a few smallish issue
