It includes all the amenities you need with fast Wi-Fi, a full kitchen, spacious bathroom and your own private king size bed. Not to mention 30 acres and privacy to spare including a private pond, dock, and fire pit. Come relax and enjoy this newly updated space or head on over to nearby lake Gaston for fishing, boating, water skiing, or amazing lake side dining!

We found that the rooms were oversized and more than we needed. We appreciated the handicapped shower. The 2 TVS were easy to use. The room had an extraordinarily large amount of humongous towels for our use. The location was just as described and easy to find.

What a wonderful stay we enjoyed! The suite had everything we needed from the fully furnished kitchen, great appointed luxury bathroom, comfortable bed/bedlinens to relax in, large screen tvs, but most of all privacy to relax in. We enjoyed walking the property and viewing the exterior of the great home place the suite is attached to. We are excited to visit this wonderful home place again very soon

Family visit

My Mom is from the area and we were visiting her brother. Not only is this house beautiful but the location is perfect for us! This was our second time staying here and would definitely stay again.

Quiet peaceful mini retreat

Went to retreat with my wife and enjoyed some time in Roanoke rapids, the home is not too far from restaurants hiking trails and other sights it was quiet and peaceful

Quiet historic home

We stayed at this property while fishing a bass tournament. Plenty of room to park 3 trucks with trailers attached and very quiet. The bathroom was huge and the shower head was amazing after a long day on the water! We would deff stay again if we’re ever in the area.

We very much enjoyed staying here. We had the mother in law suite part of the house which was more than adequate for our needs. We loved the historic home aspect to the site. Everything was clean and in order, owner was quick to respond to anything we conveyed to them, and it was lovely being the only ones staying at the house at the time. This was the first time we've used a VRBO property and it was a great experience. We highly recommend this rental, and would stay here again. Thank you so much !

Lovely rental, gracious host, TONS of space, cozy, everything is within 15 minutes. The only things I would say to the contrary is... there's a window in the kitchen I wish had a blind or a curtain (for privacy), and the water take a while to get warm. If I am ever to go back to Roanoke Rapids (or surrounding areas) if available I would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Lake Gaston Vacation

What a great experience staying here. Nice little place with plenty of sleeping options for the whole family. Kitchen and bathroom were nice and spacious. The yard was fun for the kids, they were thrilled with the tire swing! The owner of the home was so accommodating and excellent to work with from providing suggestions for places to eat and options for launching a boat. Will 100% be looking to stay here again!

This historic mill house has a main house (under renovation) & a large, separate suite which is where we stayed. It was so welcoming, comfortable and clean! Visiting with family

This property was just what we needed. We were in Roanoke Rapids to see a relative in the hospital. The location was perfect. We had everything we needed and enjoyed staying here. This is an older home that has been renovated to give you access to a small section of the house. It was beautiful and the outside was awesome too. Would love to stay again.

Warm and Inviting

Very clean, comfortable bed, great communication and easy access. Few suggestions would be add a lamp to the living room and rugs in bathroom and kitchen. Also a window covering in kitchen. These would provide a more homey feel. We would stay there again!!

Great Stay

This was a great property! Beautiful and spacious enough for our family of four. Owner had quick communication when I panicked and could not find the property after GPS took me clear to the other side of town . We didn’t use the dock and such bc 1. I didn’t ask where it was and 2. We were busy and didn’t stay in too much. All in all, No complaints. Would definitely stay again!Thanks for having us!

The house had a lot of character and the apartment was sufficient for our needs. It was well appointed and the communication was great. It did have a musty smell that I would assume comes with such an old house, but it could have been a little cleaner. The fridge had dried spillage in it and there were some things on the floor that should have been vacuumed up. Otherwise it was peaceful and quiet and private.

We all slept well, it was quiet, and roomy. It was an excellent location for us. Initially there was an issue with the cleanliness of the shower, however the host was quick to resolve the issue to our satisfaction.

This property is a dream between the open spaces of lush grass, the privacy of the forest, and the serenity of the pond. Though many stop in Roanoke Rapids, NC because of it's location along road trips up and down the east coast, this property just might call to you to come and stay awhile; relax, unwind and reconnect with nature and good company.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

This property literally has 30 acres that are private. 20 acres of it are forest. The main part of the home itself is 150 years old, with most of it's lumber, framework and hardwood floors made from the lumbermill that began on this very property, but closed many years ago. There are still a few remnants of evidence of the mill near the pins on the east side.
