The property was close to bars, gas station and the bed was comfy. It was a really cool atmosphere It was what we needed on a night out on the town.

Our time in Grey Eagle was so fun. We had the most enjoyable time. Everyone in the town is so friendly. We loved Chris. She is so sweet and so accommodating. We will do this again. Thank you.

Be prepared--this is not as advertised. This is not a house, but rather like an apartment on the main street, which is also the main highway. It was very loud with constant traffic. The furniture was not comfortable. There are no bedrooms, just a back room with a bed and bare-boards loft with three singles. Do not expect any privacy. The beds were hard and made quite a bit of creaking with any repositioning. We also were woken early due to sharing a wall with the café next door, as chatter came through the walls along with cranking of dishes. We will not be back.

The Guest House was nice, very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed, was perfect for our group. Chris the host was very friendly, had great communication and was very accommodating. We were very happy with our stay there. The breakfast at the cafe next store was really good.

Weekend stay

I stayed here because it was a convenient location to an event I was attending. Grey Eagle is a very nice little town, and the property owner was great to work with, even when I accidentally locked myself out.

If we could give a thousand stars on this amazing space, we would. Hands down, absolute 10 out of 10 birthday experience for a preteen young lady, her two best friends, and her very brave mom.We're on our 3rd year of not doing a traditional party we both hate, and this year the struggle was real. Hotel room prices were up 50, and trying to make one room with two beds, a bathroom, and no kitchen feel like home for a night was costing more than the hotel itself. Mom's sanity: gone.I never imagined an option that was actually cost-effective could be so warm, welcoming, comfortable, and seriously just a half-hour from home! There was enough room for three preteen girls to respectfully go nuts without driving me nuts. Instead of eating crappy fast food, we had home-cooked meals and fresh-baked cookies.Chris is an absolute gem of a hostess, and her thoughtful amenities saved me more money than I'd like to admit. She does such an incredible job creating a true home-away-from-home experience that my tough-as-nails daughter and I were both brought to tears saying goodbye to a place we let ourselves believe was home for a few hours.If you think this review is long, it's nothing compared to the two-page testimony we left in her guestbook. Words really aren't enough to express how grateful we are to have found Chris, her kindness, and the space where we'll be celebrating every future birthday.Book this place—you won't regret it!

Cute and nostalgic guest house

We went to a wedding about 40 min from this guest house. The price was great and it accommodated my family. We noticed that a new café just next door opened and had a traditional home town breakfast. Easy to find and nice stay. So much better then a hotel.

Memorable / Boston Cafe

We loved the history of the building, the location and most of all the town. It was great to be able to walk the streets any hour of the day! The people were so friendly. We would definitely stay again!!!

This was the perfect spot for me and my kids to stay while we visited family. We had an issue with the stove not working and Chris took care of it immediately and we were able to seamlessly use the kitchen for our meals. This space is tidy and cozy. The kids enjoyed the vhs collection upstairs. Thank you for a great stay!

My stay at Grey Eagle

Very nice Guest House and country town, quiet at night, very nice coffee shop about a block down ,nice walk. We were only there morning and night time, rest of the time out and about.

We really enjoyed our two night stay. The rental is easy to find and get into. Its a unique property with a lot of personality. The beds were comfortable and the place is well stocked. Upstairs in the loft there are 3 twin beds along with a fun vhs player and lots of old Disney movies. My kids loved that. We will plan to stay again next year.

Very nice little place, fit 5 adults and two teenagers perfectly. Accommodated the short stay, just a place to sleep for our drive through Minnesota. Downfall was no hot water, but it was not important given the short duration, I’m sure the water heater needed to be turned on.

I grew up in the Grey Eagle area on a farm. I have owned this building since 1998. Prior to buying, I rented what is now the Guest house as a gift shop for 7 years, this building holds a special place in my heart. The loft was built with home sawn lumber. We harvested the logs from the farm were I grew up, pulled the logs out of the woods with my Dads team of horses. We hauled the logs to my Uncles saw mill to saw the lumber.
In 1998 the building next door was purchased ( A small town grocery store, with a meat shop) Eventually we added the gift in the grocery store and turned the guest house into an apartment. In 2000 we added living quarters behind the store.
In about 2018 we opened the guest house for short term rental.
I quit selling grocery in 2022, We still continued to have the meat shop for our customers. I became a full service florist, (My dream job) renting Tuxedo's and continued with the Thrift, Gift & Antique Store.
In July of 2025 My Daughter opened a Cafe in the building, She's is doing a wonderful job, Home Style breakfast, and burgers with burger ground fresh in our meat shop.
I thank God every day for the opportunities and many changes over the years.
Can't wait to meet new friends.
