Beautiful ,Quiet, Private 1.85 acre, multigenerational family owned Lake Home on clean Mound Lake. With breath taking views and spectacular night skies. It's a great place to bring your family and friends, with year round relaxation, fishing, and summer swimming. Comes equipped with option to rent 24' pontoon boat, 2 non motorized boats, kyacks, A/C heat pump system, a smart TV, stereo, DVD, fully equipped kitchen, Weber and gas grill, patio tables and chairs, washer, and dryer. Has a large yard and newly constructed sandy beach, with plenty of space for young and old to enjoy. There is also an area for the evening bonfire for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. Large dock area provides sitting area to enjoy a glass of wine while watching perfect views of gorgeous mound lake . Enjoy the great escape and listen to the loons!

Fall/ Winter
Enjoy some of the best winter sports our lake home has to offer. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing are all popular with many trails in the area. Fall is also a great time to visit us with still warm days and crisp autumn nights. Minnesota's fall colors are second to none.
Whatever the season, you will have a vacation your family will remember for years to come.

Mound lake has a perfect balance between recreational and the fishing enthusiast. The lake is 273 acres, max depth of 57 feet, with 70% of lake being 15 feet deep. There is a boat launch near by to bring your own toys.

Very nice stay. Minor hiccups were addressed promptly. Great fishing off the beach. The hosts get a big plus for providing a knife sharpener.

Lovely all ages cabin with quiet , serene and beautiful surroundings. Large kitchen, lots of plates, glasses, cook ware. Comfortable couches, beds and space. It was a short trip and we enjoyed our time. Only drawback was a coffee machine that was not working properly. Owners called at one point to check to make sure outlets were working. Appreciated the call. Lovely overall experience.

The overall experience was good with good indoor entertainment options like games, movies and internet service, which came in handy with the bad weather we had that week. The cabin was spacious with plenty of room for the 6 of us. The cabin had a great view of the lake with the trees giving some seclusion from the neighbors, creating a more pleasant view.

Great location that gives a feeling of privacy and seclusion. The water is amazingly clear and we enjoyed seeing all the birds at the bird feeders on the property. The host was transparent and communicative the whole time so we knew exactly what to expect.

Mostly good

Positive’s: cute house, gorgeous lake that’s also peaceful, views from the loft out to the lake is amazing, Very homey feeling, plenty of sleeping space and comfortable beds. Fully stocked kitchen, including appliances. The 2 bathrooms was nice. Loved the personal beach area and relaxing on the dock. Negative’s: house had a variety of smells, like literally every room had a different smell. There was some chips under the ottoman, pretzels in the window, spiderwebs from the beam, a layer of dust. All small things. The pontoon is not as great as advertised. Seats are all split open, dash peeling, the front seats had been removed and replaced with 4 lawn chairs, there was left over fishing garbage in the cup holders. None of which I was aware of until the day before because the rental agreement was not sent to me until then. It got us from point a to point b, very slowly but it turned out fine, put some towels over the seats.

Nice place for vacation next to lake.

After our wonderful vacation in this cozy house with fishing on this beautiful lake in 2022 we thought to spent here another time. No regrets, even better. House looks refreshed and updated, well organized for guests comfort. Also like the communication with host, the replies are quick and clear. We will keep pleasant impressions about our getaway.

Beautiful cabin on a lovely lake! Has everything for a relaxing time! A firepit, a sandy beach on a clean, clear lake, a pontoon and a large back porch to enjoy the quiet! We enjoyed ourselves!

Great time with the family!!

We stayed 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. The kids and adults enjoyed the kayak and pontoon. The fishing was good and provided some friendly competition among the kids. The weather was great, only one day of rain. I don’t remember ever seeing the water as clear as this lake, drop a spinner down about 15 feet and could see it. Would of given it 5 stars but the pontoon had some issues.

Nice little getaway.

Lisa's cabin was a nice getaway. The canoes and kayaks were great to use on the lake. The lake had a bit of weeds which made it a but difficult for swimming, but that didn't stop us. The kids had fun playing on the beach and they had beach toys which was nice for the kids.

July 4th Family Time

Really great location on a beautiful, quiet lake. Enjoyed the scenery, cabin, nightly bonfires and boating. Would love to go back sometime!

Short Memorial Day weekend stay

The location of the cabin is very convenient. The bar/grill down the street is also convenient as well. The cabin itself had everything we needed. Pontoon was a plus. The only thing I would say is the property just needed to be cleaned up a bit. Not a huge deal. An overall fun experience with the family.

Christmas Crash Pad

Johnson's Moundview has been in the family for generations. The original owners, George and Vivian, were sweethearts to the end of 62 happily married years! Together they had 11 children and this was their family vacation home. Nearly 8 decades and 5 generations later, it continues to be one of the Johnson family's favorite destination. Their vision was to bless as many people as possible with the lake home, and so the tradition carries on!

Mound lake is crystal clear! Great fishing, swimming, and just far enough away, but not too far, to relax. Cabin has a very open air feel, and able to have good, quality bonding time.
