Bear Lodge 6207 by Mountain Vacation Lodging features numerous high quality amenities in an ideal location. Amenities include several pools / hot tubs, large green spaces, tennis courts, workout facility, clubhouse and much more. The condo is a quick walk to and from Steamboat's gondolas and ski village restaurants and shops and also has a free private shuttle in the winter. It has 2 large master suites ideal for couples, plus a great bunk room for kids or singles to accommodate groups of all kinds. Look out any window to take in views of the ski mountain all the way up to the top of the Steamboat Gondola, as well as the pool and hot tub areas. Please read on for more details.

The Property:
The unit has a large open layout that combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Your group can easily gather together here to enjoy each other's company. The large living room includes two full size sofas and two armchairs, seating eight comfortably. Relax here and enjoy the warm gas fireplace, the Mountain View's, or the large HDTV. Step outside from here onto the large covered deck, which includes outdoor dining for six. The dining room table expands to seat eight with elbow room to spare, plus there are four seats at the kitchen bar. You'll find granite countertops, slate tile, and stainless steel appliances in this fully equipped kitchen. The range is gas and the new fridge has filtered water plus an ice maker. For your convenience, you will find an in-unit washer/dyer. The unit has been updated with new furniture and lighting throughout.

There are 3 bedrooms, including two large bedroom suites on opposite ends of the condo. Each of these suites includes a King size bed with high quality linens, an HDTV on the dresser, closet space, and an en suite bathroom. The bathrooms for these two suites are identical, featuring an extra-large Jacuzzi tub, oversized walk in shower, and dual sinks, with travertine tile and solid stone countertops. When 2 couples rent this condo, there's no need to draw straws! The third bedroom has two bunk beds that are Twin over Twin. That's 4 Twin beds, making it perfect for kids or single adults. The third full bathroom is right across hall. For added comfort, all bedrooms have custom blackout curtains with ceiling fans to be installed in December 2024.

The property has access to four pools, with one right outside the condo unit. One of the pools is an indoor / outdoor pool, which means that on those cold winter days, you can enter the pool inside, away from the wind. Kids love swimming in and out of this area too. The pool / outdoor common area has comfy furniture, dining tables, towels, grills, fire pits, restrooms and separate clubhouse, all available for guest use.

If you want to play some tennis or pickleball, this is a spectacular setting for it. You might miss a few shots because you're gazing at the surrounding mountains!

Location:
This property has an exceptional location in the heart of the Mountain Village. Trappeur's Crossing is a short, easy, and flat walk from the heart of the ski area base, Steamboat Square. Bear Lodge is the closest of the Trappeur's buildings to Steamboat Square and all of the ski resort's base area lifts. Just walk about 100 yards and you'll have come to the intersection of Apres Ski Way and Village Drive. Here you'll find a small grocery, deli, restaurant, liquor and wine store called The Wild Plum. Cross the street and walk another 100 yards and you'll be at the edge of the slopes in Steamboat Square. That's right, you only walk about 200 yards from this condo to the slopes and the center of our resort's base area! Besides the slopes, the ski school is the first thing you come to. It is very easy to drop off your kids and head back to the condo or up onto the slopes, as well as to pick them up when you're heading home. In fact, with a very straightforward walk, only crossing one intersection with a 4 way stop and crosswalks, many kids can head home without assistance. The Gondolas, the Christie Peak Express lift, and the ticket office are right here too. So are many restaurants and bars, free concerts, special events, and activities galore. Remember this, though, If you don't feel like walking, all you have to do is use the free private shuttle that runs all ski season. They'll take you to and from anywhere in town! In summer, the base area is even more kid friendly than it is during ski season. When all the snow melts, Burgess Creek flows through the area, but the water level is controlled to be at a flow level that is ideal for kids to splash around. There are even a couple of "beaches" along the creek. There are also tons of activities, many restaurants and bars, as well as a large stage. This area plays host to movie nights, free concerts, art shows, hot air balloon glows, and more.

Don't forget, the ski area sits on national forest. So your condo is literally right next to a national forest trailhead. You can hike or bike from your door! You can also ride up the Gondola for food, beverages, amazing views, sunsets, or to hike and bike around to the highest parts of the ski area with a 2000 vertical foot head start! This area is also connected to other trails too. The Mountain Sneak trail, Mt. Werner trail, and Burgess Creek trail all converge within 100 yards of The Bear Lodge. These paved trails are perfect for walking, strolling, and they connect with the Yampa River Core Trail, which leads to downtown Steamboat, the Emerald Mountain trail system, and beyond. Everything is right out your door.

Arrival, Access, and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you. We offer professional concierge services, provide you with arrival instructions, and answers to any specific questions you might have. As long as the elevator is in service, accessing this property does not require any stairs. If not, or if you prefer stairs, it's just two flights up or down between the condo and the ground floor lobby and the heated underground parking. There is additional covered and uncovered parking available across the street, by the clubhouse. With the exception of a few reserved spaces underground, all parking is available on a first come first served basis. We recommend limiting your group to 2 vehicles. Trailers are not allowed, so please make plans for offsite parking if you will have one. Contact us for information on offsite parking options.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. ** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. Another great ski trip

You can't pick a better location. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes for the bus to the hill. You're also in walking distance from a few really great restaurants and a small grocery store. The condo is very well equipped and comfortable. We have chosen this location for a couple of years now.

We thoroughly this condo. Just as advertised. Just be aware, the bedroom with bunk beds does not really accommodate fully grown children or adults.

Great Winter break ski vacation

The place was in a great location to the mountain. Shuttle was easy to get back and forth. Super clean condo and great space for two families of four to spread out. The only thing I’d say is that it was very warm in the condo and we would need to open the doors to the bedrooms to sleep, and the ski locker was tight for 8 pairs of skis so needed to store a couple pair elsewhere. But overall would definitely come again!!

Great unit!

The unit was well maintained and very comfortable for 2 families traveling together. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths was great and location is perfect - especially with the provided shuttle!

Excellent condo in perfect location!!

We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely condo. It was decorated beautifully, with tons of space to accommodate our group. We had everything needed to make our trip a huge success! The location was excellent. Just a quick 10min walk to the slopes, or frequent shuttle pickups right in front. The view from the balcony is exceptional too!

Nice but needs a little work

The dining room chairs and barstools were peeling pretty bad and leaving pieces of faux leather all over the condo. Mildew in master shower and hall bathroom toilet. Most of the pans had also lost their non-stick. Otherwise, well furnished and comfortable stay.

Wonderful location and unit!

Everything about this unit was great! The kitchen was extremely well stocked with utensils/pots/pans/etc. and the ADA accessibility was appropriately listed. We had 2 adults with limited mobility (wheel chair bound) and the unit was laid out well and allowed for a great visit. My only complaint was that on our check-out day, the elevator stopped working (almost trapping my son inside). Carrying our luggage to the garage (2 flights of stairs) was not ideal.

Fantastic getaway!

This was an as-advertised wonderful getaway for our trip! Only issues: keys in lockbox did not work, and no one was on sight to help us, so had to wait for a security guy to come let us in. Also, no water in the hot tub and I called management to find out if there was another one somewhere we might have access to and did not get an answer. Other than that, it was an excellent home base for our group!

Great family skiing vacation

This was the first time for us not renting a car for our week-long family (kids 8 and 10, seniors 60 and 65 and us two) skiing vacation, and relying on free shuttles instead. It worked out flawlessly for all our transportation needs - grocery shopping, getting to/from the lifts, trips into town or to hot springs. The unit was very clean, roomy and well stocked, and the folks at front desk were very helpful and responsive. Will definitely stay here again.

Cleaning Refund Required!

I would like to express my disappointment with the cleanliness of the unit. We have had to wash half of the dishes in the kitchen because they were not only partially dirty but to the point where they were put away without being washed at all. The inside door handle of the unit also fell off on the first day and the extra deadbolt lock was cracked on arrival. I would appreciate a response to these items.

Excellent for a family

This property is located within walking distance of the base; however, the lodge runs a bus service every 5-10 minutes which saved us the hassle of walking 6 and 9 year olds to ski school with all of their gear. The property is well-appointed and very comfortable. It felt very spacious for our family of 5. The owner was very accessible when we had questions - communication was great! The grocery store was a quick walk, and a bus into town was available with a phone call. We would book this property again without hesitation!
