SECLUDED COTTAGE IN THE VERY HEART OF THE HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND

The Cottage is located in the highlands of Scotland, and the largest National Park in Britain. It is set among the majestic pine woods of Drumguish, with mountain views and teeming with wildlife. It is close to the town of Kingussie with its shops and golf course, and in easy reach of Aviemore with its ski slopes on Cairngorm mountain. The area is a walkers' paradise with lowland and upland trails starting direct from the cottage. Cyclists and mountain bikers also have immediate access to the tracks in Insh Forest, Glen Feshie and beyond.
The Cottage has been converted from an old crofters cottage and now has all amenities including central heating, double glazed windows and two wood burning stoves with all the wood you need included.

We had a nice relaxing stay this lovely property. The fresh flowers, wood in the stove for a fire, birds and bunnies in the beautiful garden. Comfortable beds and sunroom to relax and read. The location was quiet and close to town that had everything we needed. Would love to come back in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This was our favorite stay in Scotland! So beautiful and peaceful, with a lovely view. We enjoyed watching the birds at the bird feeders while sitting in the sunroom. The place was very clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. Hiking trails within walking distance.We enjoyed lunch at The Winking Owl and The Postoffice Cafe. Watched a beautiful sunset at The Boathouse for dinner. Loch an Eileen is a good place for a walk, but if you have strollers or wheelchairs, only walk on the right-side , go see the castle, then come back the same way. We especially enjoyed meeting Bridget and Fraser...very friendly and gracious hosts. We will be back!

Had a lovely stay at Drumguish Cottage. The house was warm, comfortable and really well equipped. We especially enjoyed the conservatory with amazing views and lots of birds to watch at the feeders. Bridget was super welcoming and helpful - would definitely recommend a visit.

What a delightful property (and hosts)! Bridget and Frazier were supers hosts - providing just what we needed without being intrusive. The property was perfect - meticulously maintained and perfectly located. We had an amazing time!

We had a wonderful stay in the cottage, great location with wonderful views. Instructions to get there were detailed and clear.We felt at home immediately, the log burners gave a cosy feel in the evenings.Bridget is an excellent host, we would definitely book again if in the area

This was our first stay at the cottage with guests from California so we wanted it to be special. We weren't let down. We were a total of 5 adults. The accommodation was perfect for all of us. The kitchen was great, the summer room fantastic for just chilling out and having great conversation. Loads or room, great bedrooms, beds and showers. The wildlife was abundant, we even saw a Deer on the last evening in the garden. The location is perfect with walks and cycling direct from the cottage. Kingussie and Kincraig are just short drives away for all your regular provisions and some great coffee shops. The hosts are fantastic and were always available for great advice. The Pizza evening is a must.

Great location and wildlife

We all really enjoyed our stay. Up early each morning to see the garden wildlife, fox, hares, squirrels, pheasants, woodpecker and lots of finches.Great cottage with all that you need, only downside was the third bedroom which is better suited for children than adults, mezzanine area.Fraser and Bridget lovely and very welcoming.We certainly will visit again to explore this beautiful area.

Thanks for your lovely review Lesley. Wow you saw a fox? I haven’t seen one for ages. Maybe that’s what broke our squirrel box the other day, or may be badger! I thought I had mentioned on the site that the mezzanine was smaller and had limited headspace at the sides but I will check and make sure it’s clear. It was lovely to meet you all and I hope you enjoyed Loch Ness!

Spring Break

Just as it looked on the photographs. A lovely big garden with play area for our granddaughters. Spacious bedrooms with a twin room upstairs which the girls found exciting. Three separate seating areas, one of which was the sunroom with great views south and lots of seating and woolly blankets. Games and books for children and adults. There was nothing lacking and everything was done thoughtfully and to a high standard. The hosts lived in their own house about thirty yards away which we found reassuring given the fact we were quite naturally unfamiliar with some things. They were welcoming and friendly. We had to ask for help with one minor process and the lady came over immediately and showed us what to do. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a very good supply of nespresso coffee which pleased our son. We were very happy with our stay - but it wasn't long enough!

Drumguish Cottage er et smukt, hyggeligt og veludstyret hus. Det har en fantastisk udsigt mod bjergene fra stuen og masser af fugle og andet dyreliv i haven. Både børn og voksne var begejstrede -- vi håber bestemt at vende tilbage!

Kurztrip in die Highlands

Sehr abgeschieden gelegen, ideal um die Hektik zurückzulassen. Gemütlich eingerichtet mit 2 Feuerstellen, alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden. Absolut zu empfehlen

We have both lived in this area most of our lives. We brought up our children here and now our grandchildren are enjoying the wonderful Cairngorms. We love to travel and because of this we are so happy to welcome travellers from all over the world. Our last trip was to the Arctic!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

We love to walk amongst the tall pine trees, in summer with the purple heather at our feet and in winter with deep snow and our cockerpoo bounding along in front. It feels remote yet only 3 miles from the small highland town of Kingussie with its main line railway and road. We can hike the trails or cycle straight from the door and every day we realise again how lucky we are to live in this part of the world.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Built many years ago (I think the exact record is lost) this small crofters cottage has been transformed. With the addition of a modern bedroom and bathroom wing and a large sunroom overlooking the garden the cottage now has enough space for all generations. The large garden and the ability to hike, cycle or mountain bike straight from the door is very special to us.
