It's probably extremely demanding to be surrounded by nature and have a perfect house at the same time. There's work to be done everywhere. Our apartment was perfect: magnificent view, quiet, and with everything you need after a hike in the mountains.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this small apartment conveniently located in downtown Downieville. Great views of the town below and surrounding mountains. The lodging was very clean and comfortable with a quiet atmosphere conducive to relaxation. As previous reviewers have mentioned the driveway up to the house is very steep so make sure you have decent tires and put your car in low gear before heading up the road! I would be happy to stay here again next time I make it to Downieville.

We would definitely stay here again! The steep drive up to the property was a little crazy but once we got to the top and realized how secluded we were it was great. It was so hot in Downieville but the temperature of the room was always comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the set up was cute. The plumbing, mainly the toilet was a very slow flusher, but other than that it was a very enjoyable stay.

Thanks for the honest review. It's appreciated. However, we don't agree with the rating so I am going to add some context. The first thing in the property description is that the driveway is steep. We also accommodated a last minute change to move your dates for free and kept your existing discount upon booking. You also left a broken item and didn't mention it.

Directly up the hill from downtown, End of steep street and a switchback driveway. A good descending and climbing walk, a good brake check and challenging bicycle climb, easiest in a car or truck. Enjoyable view of the town and valley. A bit of noise from the those above. A cozy space and tight cooking area. Good for one or two.

Jesse, very clean and accurate posting of property. The drive up made us chuckle. Here are a few things we noticed that are very small but could make a big difference. Another set of pillows (woman love extra pillows), mark the tv switch and tag the black switch “lights” and lastly, have the fridge relatively cold. Property is gorgeous and we enjoyed our stay. Please take this as constructive and not destructive. We hope to visit again.

This rental has an outstanding view of Downieville itself and you can hear the river like you’re sitting next to it. The host was great at communication, it was perfectly clean, and was perfect for several nights away. I am glad we brought the truck, as this is on a steep hill !

Beautiful apartment on a mountain above the very charming town of Downieville : ) Note: it's a very steep drive up to the house (and a very challenging walk!!!) so good to be aware of that - i.e. it's not within "strolling distance" of town, though technically not so far away! Absolutely lovely location though...waling up to a view of the pine-covered mountain directly oppsite is Just Amazing <3
