Private home in secluded area with magnificent views, back porch, wonderful, roomy and spacious for family to spread out. Wildlife spotted every day and could watch from the decks or the front porch

This house was beyond our expectations. Gorgeous vistas. Well appointed furnishings. Excellently stocked kitchen, games, information on everything. The house’s notebook of instructions was so helpful. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable, cozy and relaxing. Can’t say enough about our experience. So glad we stayed and even saw a bear walking around the neighborhood. Thank you for sharing this wonderful property.

Absolutely loved our stay at this lovely home which is in such a beautiful and convenient location. The views are absolutely amazing and the outdoor space off the kitchen is where you want to spend your time. Proximity to downtown Ashevielle, the Biltmore, Grove Park Inn, restaurants, and grocery stores was great. All within 15 -25 minutes. We will book this house again.

Located minutes from all the fun n Asheville but u feel like u r miles away! Could not have been a prettier view or well appointed house. Absolutely everything we needed to have a Great stay! Only thing we needed was more time to enjoy all the amenities!

Kitchen had all the utensils and appliances we needed to cook inWe did see two different bears and their cubs right outside main entrance and also down at firepit

This is a lovely house in a beautiful location. We were close to downtown but felt like we were in the wilderness. The house was very clean and well stocked. Communication was excellent. We would highly recommend this home.

If there wasn't a house here it should be an overlook for tourists to visit, the property is that amazing. The front of the house is attractive, but you're not going to spend any time anywhere other than the covered rear porch. We had a party of 8 and everyone was comfortable. Plans were being made for when we would return. The ride into town is less than 10 minutes, once you are down the mountain road you drop out into downtown. I was warned the driveway was steep, but until you see it you can't appreciate it. You can legit call out of work when it snows with this one. The outside TV could be updated. But everyone raved about Hillside Cottage and we will return.(We did see a bear cub)

Stunning Home

This home is just beautiful. Every room is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The views are breathtaking and the proximity to downtown Asheville is perfect.

Our stay was 95% good -- the location is great, the home is spacious, outdoor space is perfect and the view is beautiful. However, the morning we were checking out, one of the guests staying in the bedroom closest to the kitchen saw at least one mouse multiple times. It was huge bummer to end our trip on this note.

We found the home quite lovely, very well furnished and decorated by someone with excellent taste, clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with just about everything you could want except for an air fryer.Location was great, only 10 minutes down the mountain into town, but you felt like you were in a forest all to yourself even though there are other houses nearby, they are not easily visibleThe only complaint that I can mention is that there is an unpleasant odor from time to time that drifts across the outdoor covered porch on the upper level. I suspect there’s a cracked sewer clean out line somewhere in the yard.As others have mentioned, the driveway is quite steep on the way down to the house and back up to the road, but it is level at the parking area by the house. Apparently, the road on which the house is located is frequently used by motorcycles as they race their way up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, we heard them almost every day.We did see quite a few bears roaming across the property during our visit, but none that were a nuisance.

We had an incredible stay at this mountain cabin and can't wait to return! The location was perfect – peaceful and secluded while still being conveniently accessible. The views were stunning and we loved being surrounded by nature.The layout of the house worked beautifully for our group. The space flowed well and gave everyone room to spread out while still feeling cozy and connected. We especially appreciated how thoughtfully designed everything was.The decor was tasteful and created such a warm, inviting atmosphere. It felt like a true home away from home, not an impersonal rental. Every detail showed the owner's care and attention.Our host was responsive and made check-in seamless. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a mountain retreat. It exceeded our expectations in every way!

Perfection! This home is a perfect combination of space, coziness and convenience. The house is very well appointed and left us wanting for nothing. Our favorite spot was the porch, which offered beautiful views of the mountains, plenty of room to get comfy by the fire and provided the perfect spot to watch football and make dinner on the grill. In addition, it was a delight to prepare meals in the kitchen and we found ourselves hanging out there several times a day. The dining room table was the perfect size for our party of 8 to eat and play games well into the night. All this and only a stones throw from downtown Asheville, The Biltmore, Grove Park Inn and hiking trails. We were already planning our next stay while we packed up! We will be back! Hillside Cottage was perfect. Thank you for creating such a wonderful getaway for our family.

An Amazing Place

While the pictures of this home are beautiful—the actual place exceeded our high expectations. Everything in the home was immaculate, the views were stunning, and the location to downtown Asheville was as advertised (7-min). Pictures of the mountains from the main deck just cannot do the view justice—and you get this beautiful view from so many places in the home. If you are considering this property—you will be blown away by every aspect of it. And this includes Yonder who were extremely responsive and accommodating. When spending time away with friends/family, you want everything to be perfect—and this place is exactly that!

The check-in process was amazing. They were kind enough to let us check in two hours early… Upon arriving the house was immaculate. The pictures themselves do not do justice to the house amazing views plenty of space for a large group would definitely go back and stay there again… And don’t be like me and not believe that there are bears there the morning of checkout about 160 pound blackbear was in the backyard so he their warning do not leave food out. He was looking for food… It was an amazing view to see nature and I actually see a bear running through the backyard. I highly recommend this house for Stay… The owners responded quickly. Every time I had a question which were very few they were very accommodating. I wish everyone and every facility could be like this

The house and location is great but property management leaves a little to be desired. The Good: the location is perfect, close enough to town to make trips for supplies or outings a breeze but far enough up the mountain to make you feel secluded and away from it all…the best of both worlds. The house is beautiful and had stunning views from the decks and master bedroom. The landscaping in the front yard is beautiful and the fireplaces and outdoor seating was perfect. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed for cooking family meals. There was also a nice selection of books for kids and adults as well as games the family can play. The Bad: Despite the home being vacant for 8 days before our stay, early check in could not be accommodated because they claimed other guests were checking out that morning. The decks had not been swept and were full of cobwebs, there was a smell of sewage in the downstairs common area, the washing machine did not work, the shower in the upstairs guest room did not work, the wine fridge in the dining room did not work, the outdoor sink leaked profusely, the master bedroom mattress is uncomfortably soft. Both the property management and 3-in-1 soaps in the bathrooms leave much to be desired. Property management responded to our concerns about the smell of sewage downstairs, asked us to troubleshoot the issue and if we wanted something to mask the smell, that was “on us”. There was no follow up and I felt like an inconvenience.

We had such a great time here! It was the perfect place to unplug and spend a few days surrounded by nature. The views were absolutely unbelievable, and we found ourselves just sitting outside taking it all in. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We’d definitely come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway
